Her explanation of Sami's reasoning for kissing Chad is weird but it's still a decent interview (minus the E.J. update  ). I've put the images from the tweet behind the spoiler tag below:

Lovely interview from Ali and i loved the Ejami bit that was the bit i was interested the most to be honest although i am happy she be reunited with Will. One thing surprised me was she never said that Abby walks in on them kissing so what happened between them may be was either cut or the scenes were very short no cat fight between two ladies nothing to get excited about.

Also, why on earth would they give that much detail on all of her scenes before they air? No need to watch...(I mean, I'm going to, but still).
May be because they want people to tune in big time they hardly doing great in the ratings at the moment and what better way is have her promote her story line in detail in the Voldemort they know millions of soap fans buy that magazine.

I can do without the EJ stuff but I guess it has to be addressed. I always hate Sami being angry at John but for once it's justified. I would literally pass out if John showed up to Sami on the day after her birthday with a Cream cheese and grape jelly sandwich to make up for what he did. I'm really looking forward to the Lumi reunion and the Marlena/Sami scene.
I like how Marlena shuts Sami down about John too and gets to the real issues about Will

The Chad thing makes no sense. Does he remind her of EJ or something? Because he shouldn't at all.
The old Chad was more like EJ Casey he was as tall as James but i agree but BF version i say nothing in common at all except both of them liked blondes. I think what she meant is they were deep down good men despite their flaws considering they were DiMeras that is why Sami was drawn to Chad she saw her husband in him.

So Sami doesn't kiss Chad initially to piss Abby off? She does it because why? I'm confused?

I really don't give a shit about Sami's attempt at trying to find EJ. :hmmph:

Because, from what I gather, she is walking around the Dimera Mansion thinking of her life with EJ... Chad walks in... and she kisses him because she's all wrapped up in her memories of her and EJ.

So I guess for a split second she thought he was EJ!

IMO it's stupid no matter how they try to explain it lol.

I'm one of the biggest EJ/EJami fans on the planet, so I am happy to hear that EJ is still on Sami's mind. Of course, he may be erased by the time she leaves Salem, so there's that!

As for the kiss, she says there won't be any flashbacks (probably because they didn't want to pay JS!) but I think if they had let Sami remember being with EJ in the DiManse, it would have made more sense for her to be 'in the moment' when Chad comes in and the kiss occurs. They could have morphed from one of EJami's kisses to real time and her realizing that she was kissing Chad.

I think they managed to make it even more stupid than I expected it to be, which is surely some achievement.

I liked the Sami that skipped out of town and left EJ's ashes on the mantle, but instead this is the Sami who likes to make her "dead" son all about husband #15.

This is some really dumb shit. Not unexpected for Sami, but still.

Not surprising I guess, since the dirt hadn't even settled on her son's grave before she took off to look for EJ!

Come on Ron, We are counting on YOU !!

So she also breaks down and sobs and ends up lying on her mother's lap... unlike Lucas' moment this week her sobbing is about her tough time following the Ej leads and not about Will... I'm really not surprised

I was annoyed by that too. I get they have to address where she was but I have no interest in Marlena having to listen to how broken up she is about EJ

I don’t have a problem with her thinking about him. It’s beyond stupid that she’d mistake Chad for him...and even worse that someone apparently thinks is there’s a lot of EJ in Chad. I thought the revenge angle was stupid, but this is way dumber. There have been times when they have written some things with Chad similarly to how they wrote with EJ, but not to the point that the two would be mistaken for one another because they’re just so gosh darn similar. I guess we’re lucky Chad is who comes in.

I don’t really have a problem with that. She apparently didn’t find him, and now she’s needing to go on what could be another wild goose chase. She was so convinced with Ej that that she color her perspective here.

It makes sense, I just don't want to see it. I always struggle with the Sami Marlena scenes about EJ

I’d rather watch more scenes of Lucas grappling with his grief, disbelief and addiction than this silliness that does nothing to serve the character of Sami. I get that they need to address where she’s been and what she’s been doing, but I don’t believe, after having watched Sami her entire life, she hasn’t moved on to focus on herself. It’s like how they made Nicole worship Daniel as the love of her life when that’s NOT what we SAW. Same with Sami. Instead of making her admit she escaped a toxic relationship, they are pretending it wasn’t abusive throughout its entirety. It’s a lame way to treat her return, but I suppose an easy way to explain her approaching exit too. Easy, lame and unsatisfying. And as much as Ali swears Will is a touchstone for Sami, I have a hard time believing her when Sami comes in sobbing over a character no longer relevant and not 100% focused on Will.

Yeah, I don't disagree that this is stupid.

I do have a theory that Ron stuck this in just to bring up the EJ/Abby angle for a future story.

I agree with the points that all three of you have made.

Sigh.

I hope we don't have to listen to Maggie caterwauling over her granddaughter being gone.
If it damages Maggie and Brady's relationship, I'm okay with it.
I'm so thankful we've barely seen that
Me too.

I'd also like a nice long break from Victor and Brady's toxic relationship.
