Personally, regarding Sami and her memory lane in the DiMera mansion, I think that it makes sense that her thoughts are on EJ. No big deal. What I've gathered from the storyline, the purpose of it all is finding Will. It's not the end of the world that her thoughts happen to be with her dead husband in a few scenes. It's a shame that James declined the offer to return as EJ. It was one of the most colorful characters on Days for the past few years, in my opinion. Say whatever you'd like, but it was a character that really pulled in viewers.
And maybe he drove a lot of viewers away too, it's hard to say. It's not like Days was a big hit during all the EJ years. If wikipedia is correct, Days was in 4th place or worse all the time he was there, except the 2009-2010 season (3rd place).
I don't believe for a moment that he drove away viewers. The character was complex, interesting, the right age, sexy, etc. Furthermore, James was the cast member with the longest queues on all events. On the other hand, it could also have been due to James' popularity as an actor. In the end, it's fascinating storylines that pulls in viewers, but you can't discredit the fact that you require interesting characters. All great shows include a combination of well-written plots and characters. So low ratings are due to a severe lack of interesting plots AND interesting characters on DAYS. We’ve seen people claim that he drove them away and people claim that he pulled them in. I’d assume both are true. He didnt have the longest queue at any fan event I went to. Shawn Christian did.

Did you meet more than once Iysie James and was easy to talk to how did he compare to the other actors you met?

Did you meet more than once Iysie James and was easy to talk to how did he compare to the other actors you met? I’ve met him several times. I’ve never had a bad encounter with him. We had one very awkward interaction at an event once but that wasn’t caused by him.

Ali's return sounds very busy and interesting. This is just talking about the first couple of days too. LOL
I still wonder about a recast of EJ. That would explain more than a little dialogue about EJ. Who knows, only RC I guess.
I'm looking forward to all the interactions Sami will have. The Memphis trip should be fun. The worst thing in this article is Lunk shows up right away. Ugh. Of course, he lets John and Paul off the hook with no consequences. He is a crooked cop. If someone was about to dig up one of my children with no permission I would not rest until they at least paid a fine. It is a crime.
The birthday scenes with Eric sound good. Hope Sami gives Nicole a good slap for hurting her brother. Just one more for old time's sake.
I think maybe Sami can help Lucas and get through to him where no one else has. How will Sami react to the news about Lucas and Granny? Oh I hope we do get to see that.
Thanks for posting the article.
You think Days is lying about TC's character? I guess it's possible but he could start as someone that is explained as a new character then Rolf can reveal he's not... I didn't say or imply Days lied about anything. I have no clue about Tyler Christopher's character.
I was just wondering out loud about the reason for more than a bit of dialogue regarding EJ. Supposedly EJ is dead and that chapter of the story is over. But recasts do happen and if RC was interested in re-introducing the character of EJ perhaps he still is. Filming six months or more in advance leaves a lot of room for things to put into place to bring on several characters.

Hi, my name is Brandy and EJ and EJami drove me away. I say this as somebody who liked James Scott tremendiously when he first started. Never could get into EJ and Sami because he raped her and apparently that's fine despite the fact that she castrated the first guy who did that to her.
I find James Scott to be an interesting actor who is more than a little attractive. I should have loved him so it might have been more EJami than EJ that drove me away. I certainly found him more palatable with Nicole or on his own and would have watched the hell out of a story where he and Lucas had to work together to some end.
But ultimately 5 days a week (and I'm sure it wasn't but it felt like 5 days a week) of one character on all the time in a story I never particularly liked had me tuning in less and less and eventually I broke that habit.
I don't have a strong objection in theory to the return of James Scott should he ever change his mind that Days is beneath him. But I fear that a return for him would bring back the return of the EJ show and I'm not here for that.

I don't believe for a moment that he drove away viewers. I can't speak for anyone else. But I do know that the character of EJ and the pairing of Ejami caused me to intentionally boycott the show entirely for several years. I loathed him that much. I came back to the show to watch Will's coming out story, but I had to fast forward through EJ.

I can do without the EJ stuff but I guess it has to be addressed. I always hate Sami being angry at John but for once it's justified. I would literally pass out if John showed up to Sami on the day after her birthday with a Cream cheese and grape jelly sandwich to make up for what he did. I'm really looking forward to the Lumi reunion and the Marlena/Sami scene.
I like how Marlena shuts Sami down about John too and gets to the real issues about Will The Chad thing makes no sense. Does he remind her of EJ or something? Because he shouldn't at all.
The old Chad was more like EJ Casey he was as tall as James but i agree but BF version i say nothing in common at all except both of them liked blondes. I think what she meant is they were deep down good men despite their flaws considering they were DiMeras that is why Sami was drawn to Chad she saw her husband in him. How can you say Chad likes Blondes....
SO far 1 blonde Mia, 1 part time blonde Abby, 3 brunettes Zoe, Gabi and Ciara, and 1 redhead.

One thing I appreciate about James is, he is a doer, where as people like Billy just retweet, and as far as I know never actually does anything but bitch about politics on twitter. If it enrages you, go out and do something about it, and James does.

Daniel was becoming just as bad as EJ to me tbh. But at least with Daniel, my hate for him grew slowly. I've hated EJ ever since he raped Sami in that car.

One thing I appreciate about James is, he is a doer, where as people like Billy just retweet, and as far as I know never actually does anything but bitch about politics on twitter. If it enrages you, go out and do something about it, and James does.
To be fair, you don't know what Billy does or doesn't do. You are right I don’t, I can only judge what I see he tweets. However, with his filming schedule to all the tweeting he does I don’t know how he could possibly have time to do anything else??
