And doesn't Sonny still have legal rights to Arianna which would enable him to have a say still?

Guessing this was a way to bring Sami back.
I think the only legal right to Arianna that Sonny has is if something were to happen to both Gabi and Will, then he'd gain custody. Other than that he has no rights, I don't think

I find it a little hard to believe that Will/Sonny filed paperwork for a separation when Will was so desperately trying to get Sonny to come back to him. I just don't see that he would've signed the paperwork for it.
Yeah, I think Will would have been pitching a fit.

This legal separation thing is something new Ron thought up. I never remember them discussing it back when Sonny left for Paris.

Today was better than yesterday, but not particularly good. It wasn't infuriating, though, so that's a pretty big step up.

I really didn't enjoy BD today. The stuff Lucas was doing was fine and some was really good on paper, but overall I don't think it really hit anything good. I did really like the exchange with Sonny just before Sonny mentioned exhuming the body, though. I thought it was a good moment for both Lucas and Sonny.

I didn't have a problem with anything either Sonny or Paul did today.

I just have a hard time believing that Nicole would be this torn up over loving someone more than Brady. This would have worked better without Holly if Nicole had just kind of fallen in love with Tate, and didn't want to lose that. Nicole has improved by leaps and bounds over the last few weeks, but she's too meek for me.

I don't care about Eli/Gabi together. I don't care about Gabi at all.

I'm not even really sure what Eric did today...
Except that we've already sat through the Nicole staying with a man because she loves the child story before.

I'm liking Chloe going around Salem spilling people's secrets

I liked Paul/Lucas/Sonny. I understood where everyone was coming from.

EM continues to shine. I think the vows/flashback thing was well done.

Poor Eli can do better than Gabi. They're mind numbingly dull together.

Legally, Sonny likely has zero rights. He's not the biological father and he's not a step-father anymore (well, until Will is deemed to be alive anyway). Beyond that, step-parents don't generally have custody rights anyway. They kind of have whatever rights the biological parent/parents give them. Absent a legal order, Gabi could legally prevent Sonny from seeing Ari if she wanted to. Sonny could then sue for visitation/custodial rights, but it would be based on his long-standing relationship with Ari and the nebulous "best interests of the child" standard, not any true parental rights.

That said, these laws are in flux these days, so some places might have a different standard. But the above is the basic law in most places.

So they refilmed the scene of her finding Will'S body as played by Chandler. I wonder if they reshoT the actual strangulation scene too or is that the only part ?
No they did not refilm the scene of Gabi finding Will'S body in today's flashback with Chander, they just showed her finding his body without showing Will 's face.

Jason47, does Guy Wilson get paid for his body being shown but not his face?
Thanks.

And it worked better than this. Though that was a good deal different from what I was describing.

" You're the most important man in the world to me " what was missing after that was the But sometimes you're an idiot and I can see I'm going to have to do most of the thinking in this relationship.

I would have killed for Brady to have a flashback of looking up to the screen at his wedding at that moment.

Esp13, is this accurate?

I would think divorce would be the only binding (legal) thing that counts as termination of marriage. You can separate and still be married which is what I thought Wilson was.
I don't do divorces and it always depends on the individual state law, but in theory yes.

A legal separation is a document that you can draw up and file which basically declares that the parties have decided to end the marriage and are no longer responsible for each other's stuff. It generally applies more towards property and debt, but I can't see a reason why it also wouldn't apply to things like health care or legal decisions. I don't think a party to a legal separation would have the power to made medical decisions for the soon to be ex-spouse anymore, so they probably wouldn't have spousal/next of kin rights for a deceased person either.

That said, a "legal separation" is different from just two people separating. If you just separate and live in different places, but don't file any legal paperwork, then those spousal rights/responsibilities don't terminate. It's only upon filing of the legal paperwork (legal separation or filing for divorce) which changes those legal relationships.
Thanks! :)
