Take note, various writers from the past 5 years: see what Ericole did today? Would that really have been so hard to do before AZ left the show?
Well, sadly, it was hard considering one of the actors involved didn't want to do it!

Today's episode was meh for me. Don't care about Titan much. Claire and Theo is hard to get interested in. I liked Ben and loved seeing Clyde! Eric and Nicole--I just wish she had broken up with Brady before doing what she's about to do with Eric. But that's Nicole's style apparently. She needs to focus on baby Holly for a while and lay off men. But since she'll be leaving shortly I guess that's not going to happen.

Well, I have to do a lot of stuff at work that I don't want to do. And I guarantee what I'm asked to do is MUCH less enjoyable than what AZ was asked to do. ;)

I’m sorry but the contrived Horton Center job plot point is not helping me take this Eric/Nicole thing seriously. The acting and dialogue is not helping either, as well as Racoon-eyes Nicole.
I'm still miffed they are ripping off one of the best story lines in soap history AKA "the plane" with John and Marlena. Some stuff should just be left alone.
Pretty pathetic attempt. But it doesn’t piss me off at all, it’s just making me laugh.

Thank you JCP.

There is an old scene of Kayla showing up at Steve's place. She is standing in the rain looking like a cute raccoon wearing a heavy sweater. lol. Back then, they could afford to do major water scenes.

I feel like I’ve seen this same scene a bunch of times... someone (today it’s Nicole) is telling Eric to come home to Salem and that he can’t hide away in the farmhouse yadda yadda.

I’m trying to figure out how Clyde would know such a thing.

Poor Ben, still waiting for a nap.

It’s still the night of the wedding and Claire gets home and changes.. but not into sleepwear. This day needs to end, please.

“I don’t know what you want from me Kayla..” LMAO 😂

Is there no security at Bayview? Everyone’s looking for Clyde, alerts on the news, etc but he can walk right into a psyche hospital?

He didn’t just walk in. He was a visitor using a fake name.

With all due respect to the John/Marlena plane scene-- and I agree that those who haven't seen it should watch because it's good stuff-- I don't think J/M own the soap trope of character A chasing down character B in the rain after months of pining. Honestly what popped into my head first was Jessica and Nash on OLTL. In the rain is frequently used to heighten the atmosphere. Hardly an identifying detail.

It wasn't just the rain. The dialogue was so similar.

That being said, I take no offense to them using it. It is a trope. But it's not unusual to point out such clear similarities

I haven't watched yet, but I like the idea of Eric as the next generation reflecting having a scene from his own storyline reflecting a scene from his mother's storyline.

OK episode.

Ben feels like a different character. I'm not sure I buy it, but RSW is doing a great job.

Hope remains very watchable when Rufus is not around.

I don't care about Titan.

Ericole was soapy goodness and I don't even love them anymore.

I want to see Steve and Kayla work the Trick issue out but these scenes did nothing for me.

I'm sure we'll be seeing lots of similarities between past stories and Ron's current plots. Ron loves riffing off old stuff; it's kind of his signature. I've seen some fans who loved that he did it so often, and others who just hated it.

I have no issue with anyone pointing out similarities or with Eric reflecting an important moment in his mother's life if the similarities are indeed deliberate. I'm certainly not denying the similarities.

I just strongly disagree with those who think it shouldn't have been so similar, as I think it was exactly what Ericole needed and it was exactly what I wanted for them. I would hate for a soap writer to say "we can't write an on point last hurrah for Ericole because it comes too close to the sacredness that is another couple." I wanted the talk about the past and I wanted the rain.

I agree ericole needed these scenes today. I also don't think J&M are too sacred to have scenes repeated lol

I also do think it took me a little out of the scenes today because they were so similar. That's a disservice to ericole.

I like the past history, mystery substance of much of this story, BUT Ben and Clyde were
my favorite part of the show today.THAT CLYDE never was able to come back to finish telling
BEN the rest of the story surrounding Will being alive.

Days is at it's best when you have to look back and reconsider what was happening in the past,
or even rewatch some moments before you can move into the future. JMHO

OK, Surprising I liked Eric, Nicole and Brady today. Brady worst fears are about to be realized.
Brady's a lot like his mother Izzy B who (to me) couldn't deal with what she
saw inevitably happening between "John" and "Marlena" after Chichen Itza (the affair) I enjoyed Victor telling the two young fools to shut up they were both behaving like infants!!!

Ericole are DOOMED star crossed lover. I don't have a problem with this because
Nicole was always just a GOLD DIGGER!!!Once she made that
choice Eric came back from Colorado, moved on with Greta, before he moved to Africa {Remember her? John's possible daughter who appeared basically out of nowhere} All of this which Nicole completely left out today in recounting Eric history.

Hope came off as not a stuffy and arrogant with Ben as the day Rafe was hanging out in her office too. Which I liked.

Claire does nothing for me as a character. Steve, Kayla and Tripp .....I still don't really see them as a family together. But I do like the character of Tripp and Lucas

Claire called Will Sonny's first husband. DO BETTER SHOW
Yeah. Did the person that wrote that line in just FORGET that Sonny only has one husband? That interrupted wedding doesn't count as a marriage.
But I think more at issue is the fact that Claire is related to Will in numerous different ways, most closely as first cousins because of mutual grandma Marlena. Instead she talks about Will like he's just some random person.

I think Greta was a pretty minor thing for Nicole to leave out, since Eric/Nicole were together again before Eric left for Colorado and eventually, off screen, for Africa. Yeah, Eric/Nicole's togetherness at that time was based partly on Nicole's cancer lie... but more on the fact that Eric just couldn't get over Nicole and cheated on Greta with Nicole of his own free will.

And as Eric vaguely touched on, Nicole's original choice to leave him for Lucas wasn't solely about the money. It was about having been forced to do porn as a teenager and her belief-- spurred on by Lucas-- that Lucas was worldly enough to accept that and Eric wasn't. And when she moved along from Lucas to Victor, she was quite clear with Brandon that she was chasing money partially because she was still spinning off of losing Eric, the one man she had genuinely loved. That's not to say Nicole hasn't been a gold digger, but she wasn't just a gold digger even at her worst.

I'm pissed on behalf of Wendy the midwife. She's probably the only reason Thomas survived childbirth and no one, including Ben, seems to remember that she was murdered by him after helping to bring the baby safely into the world. :shame:

Another way to look at this is perhaps DAYS very deliberately wants to draw you back to these moments for a reason which is not yet obvious. It not the 1st time this has happened. The letter between EJ and Sami when she was in jail last time, came straight out of Aremid and John letter to Marlena

"Patience is virtue" they say ;)
