Best return (as a whole) in the last 5 years IMO :cheer: .

Too bad it didn't last longer.

Why did Scott's name get changed?
I don't remember a lot of details but Trish had left town and told David that she had left Timmy with someone who would take good care of him. After several months, David finally tracked Timmy down in LA, staying with Trish's mother. Trish was off in Europe. David took him back to Salem and renamed him then.

God I hope not! Paul is Will's step-uncle. Yes, they've already slept together, and it was before they knew Paul was John's son, but it just seems creepy to me now. I'm sure they have tons of scenes together which is why they're bonding, but I think it's even more telling that it's not Freddie he's hanging out the most with.
I don't think Chandler and Freddie are close because of stuff that happened years ago. I have heard that Casey Deidrick made Freddie's life miserable when he joined the show and Chandler was Casey's best friend. And then when Chandler got a lot more story and recognition than Freddie, there was an ego and jealousy issue. Maybe they are past all that now but I'm not sure. I think Freddie doesn't socialize with his castmates a lot regardless, he spends a lot of time alone in his dressing room.
And Molly and Casey were sleeping together so there was that and Chandler was Casey's roommate but I never thought that Casey d was all that and I still don't .I love the vibe freddie/Billy have on and off screen

From the weekly synopses:

8/28/78-9/1/78: David wanted to change Timmy's name to Scott in honor of David's father.

9/4/78-9/8/78: Amy worked with David and cared for Scott, Timmy's new name.

It seems there have been a lot of Green Mountain Lodge references on "on this day" lately. When was the last time we've seen it? When Abby stalked Austin?

I honestly didn't remember that Chris Kositchek had a younger sister named Amy. I don't think she was ever mentioned when Jake was revealed as the strangler. Wonder how long she was actually on the show.

I do remember an Amy in 1985 who linked up with Melissa, Pete, and Todd when they were on the run. But it was definitely not the same character.

Robyn Pohle (Amy Kositchek) 8/24/78-12/12/78...11 episodes
Liz Keifer (Amy Cooper) 9/27/85-11/19/85...18 episodes

http://www.jason47.com/days/noncontractarchive.html

And to finish out the Amy characters in "Days" history, there were 2 others who appeared in at least 5 episodes:

Amy Chaffee (Dr. Amy Jacobs) 6 episodes in 2007
Susan Angelo (Amy Roberts) 5 episodes in 1992

So, it looks like we are due for an Amy soon! There's been one per decade since the 1970's.

And speaking of names, there's still only been one Jason (the high school brat) that has appeared in at least 5 episodes. Will there ever be a nice Jason in Salem?? We came close with Jason Cortman, but he didn't qualify for 5 episodes.

According to that scan, Julie had a brother, Steve (I didn't know Stephen Schnetzer was on DOOL). I assume they had the same father? What happened to him?

I interviewed the first Steve. He was on for just 2 episodes during the first month of the show.

James Carroll Jordan played him for 10 episodes in 1972:

Stephen Schnetzer last played him, for 115 episodes, from 1978-1979:

From the weekly synopses:

6/19/78-6/23/78: In Paris, Doug and Julie heard from her brother Steve Olson.

6/26/78-6/30/78: Steve charmed Doug and Julie into giving him loans and promised to return to Salem.

7/3/78-7/7/78: Doug hired a new singer, Theresa Harper, who attracted Steve's attention and made Julie jealous.

7/10/78-7/14/78: Steve took a shine to Mary. Chris was jealous, and Doug was suspicious that Steve's only interest was in Mary's inheritance. Steve returned the club's cash box and money and let Robert think Theresa had taken it. Linda insisted on throwing a welcome party for Steve to outdo the Hortons. Doug hired Steve.

7/17/78-7/21/78: Doug blew up at Julie for consulting with Steve about buying a boutique. Doug grew chummier with Theresa. Mary dated Steve and argued with Chris over his opposition to Bob's building plans.

7/24/78-7/28/78: Alice comforted Margo about her death fears. Doug reluctantly signed the lease for Julie and Steve's new business.

8/21/78-8/25/78: Julie and Steve returned and she warned Theresa to stay away from Doug.

9/4/78-9/8/78: Steve and Mimi met again in Paris and plotted to skim off the profits of Julie's business.

9/11/78-9/15/78: Julie inadvertently kept Doug from participating in the opening of her and Steve's new shop.

9/25/78-9/29/78: Mary accepted a date with Steve.

10/16/78-10/20/78: Doug learned that Steve padded Julie's bills and pocketed the money.

10/30/78-11/3/78: Doug discouraged Julie from making Steve a full partner.

11/13/78-11/17/78: Steve told Robert he's not interested in Theresa, but Steve concocted another shady business deal without Julie's knowledge.

11/27/78-12/1/78: Robert learned Steve has been buying fake antique boxes from Earl Roscoe. Julie asked Steve to be a full partner. .

12/4/78-12/8/78: Mary dated Steve. Doug objected and Mickey was cautious when Julie insisted Steve become a full business partner.

12/11/78-12/15/78: Steve was reminded he's in debt to loan sharks.

12/25/78-12/29/78: Theresa learned that Steve's antique music boxes are copies and hinted as much to Julie, who was reluctant to believe her brother was in cahoots with art forger Earl.

1/1/79-1/5/79: Theresa tipped off Robert about Steve's fake antiques.

1/8/79-1/12/79: Doug and Maggie halted being too close for comfort, but Steve taunted Julie that Doug's got a thing for Maggie.

1/15/79-1/19/79: Steve convinced Julie and Doug wanted her to go on a buying trip so he could snuggle up to Maggie.

1/22/79-1/26/79: Doug learned from Amanda that Steve's antique music boxes are definitely fakes but didn't tell Julie.

1/29/79-2/2/79: Doug forced Steve to sign a secret confession and a promissory note to Doug for paying Steve's debts. In return, Doug saved Steve's reputation for Julie's sake.

2/19/79-2/23/79: Steve took an interest in Amanda while she resisted Neil's renewed advances.

3/26/79-3/30/79: Steve questioned Robert about who was the insemination donor for Dougie.

4/2/79-4/6/79: Amanda was courted by Steve, Steve learned that Trish worked for a shady friend of his in Paris. Steve hit Tom for a loan.

5/7/79-5/11/79: Don was flabbergasted when Steve suggested suing Maggie for Julie's accident.

6/4/79-6/8/79: Steve dated Mary in front of Amanda and Chris.

6/11/79-6/15/79: Don didn't tell Marlena that he learned the truth from Steve about Donna's thieving ways.

6/25/79-6/29/79: Steve hinted that Mary ought to sue Chris.

7/2/79-7/6/79: Prompted by Steve, Mary asked Don to handle her lawsuit against Chris for the accident. Linda witnessed Chris and Mary's accident and realizes that Mary and Steve are lying about the circumstances.

7/9/79-7/13/79: Julie's first skin grafts didn't "take," and Steve took her to Chicago for another doctor's opinion. In Paris, Robert got along smashingly with Mimi, Steve's old girlfriend. Steve left Maggie in charge of Chez Julie.

7/16/79-7/20/79: Steve joined Mimi and resumed their affair. They met wealthy Byron Carmichael, who resembled Doug. Steve and Mimi remembered that shady guy Durand had it out from Trish because she cheated him on a deal.

7/23/79-7/27/79: Byron's wife, Lee, made it clear she can't wait til he kicks the bucket, but Steve put the thought in his head that Doug may be his long-lost brother.

7/30/79-8/3/79: Steve agreed to smuggle diamonds for Durand, who cautioned him not to run off with the goods, which his last carrier, Trish, had done. Steve met Lee and they got along swimmingly.

8/6/79-8/10/79: Doug was devastated after a brief call from his brother Byron, who died soon afterward. Stephanie's confession, Jordan's urgings, and Steve's tauntings about Doug being a rotten egg made Julie reconsider another operation. Linda pushed Steve and Mary together. Steve and Lee agreed to work together for their own best interests.

8/20/79-8/24/79: Maggie was alarmed that Steve keeps a gun in the shop, and she nixed a Washington trip with Mickey.

8/27/79-8/31/79: Steve paid court to both Mary and Lee until he learned Lee is poor as a church mouse. Mary asked Bob to hire Steve.

9/3/79-9/7/79: Simpson came for his canes with the smuggled diamonds, and Steve flared at Maggie for unwittingly selling one to Tom and one to Trask. Steve retrieved Tom's cane, but Trask went to Europe, and Steve failed to persuade Trish to give up her diamond supply.

9/10/79-9/14/79: Steve intimated that Maggie and Bill were up to no good after they dined together. Because Lee is moving in on Doug and his loot, Steve expects to be her partner.

9/17/79-9/21/79: Steve pushed for a job at Anderson Manufacturing. Trish and Steve feared their link to Simpson would be discovered.

10/22/79-10/26/79: Steve assigned his share of Chez Julie to Doug in return for the loan he owes.

11/5/79-11/9/79: Steve bought the cane that contains the missing diamonds from Trask, but Maggie's suspicious that Steve paid a lot of money for it.

11/12/79-11/16/79: Steve threatened to blackmail Lee if she stays married to Doug.

12/17/79-12/21/79: Steve told Bob he bought an engagement ring for Mary.

12/24/79-12/28/79: Mary nixed Steve's marriage proposal.

12/31/79-1/4/80: Steve went to Paris.

One would think Stephen Schnetzer would be a shoe in for a visit or two because of his later work on Another World, also being on NBC. Maybe Steve will visit his sister Julie one of these DAYS!

Apparently the magazine confirms next Friday is Ari's last day. So odd she was still there in June.

Maybe the show wanted to get a Sami & Nicole scene. Perhaps they asked AZ to come back and film those scenes when AS was back, since it was only the month of June that AS filmed.
So maybe Nicole heads back into Salem secretly for a visit and then leaves again.

I wonder if maybe they had another plan that fell through. Ari said at the emmys she was just about done. This stuff was filmed 6 weeks later. Maybe she just wasn't available also

Ali was there in may also
