The first Colin was an American actor doing some sort of British accent and then they cast JM who's Australian, LOL.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deepWasn't there a tweet where CM was making fun of that Nerium crap or something? :blulaugh: I think it was after he left the show.
Yeah. It was for some anti aging thing FS and/or his girlfriend was trying to sell. CM posted a picture of him with "wrinkles" vs him as his usual self and claimed the product worked wonders. Or something along those lines anyway.
I thought that was funny, especially when I think of all the crap FS is trying to sell his fans.
I found that whole thing so stupid. Like how are testimonials from Molly Burnett and Freddie Smith on anti-aging cream to attract a demographic? They were what, 25 at the time? Lol. Not to mention, they were backing a shady Multi-Level Marketing company that faked endorsements from a reputable cancer center and had salespeople that knew the business of the product but not the actual science behind how the product worked. It was an obvious pyramid scheme.

Chandler's low key sass was hilarious and I didn't feel bad for them because it was clearly a dishonest business venture to be trying to tie their fans to.

Freddie has clearly been prioritizing his "business ventures" more than his acting for a while now. His scenes with Eric Martsolf earlier this week were downright hammy and cringeworthy. Doesn't he also openly state on his website his intentions to retire by the age of 30? Like good on you for that ambition, but it also gives me the vibe that you're more into acting for its money and not for its creative process.

Jeff Griggs' character was deplorable, but I had the hots for him when he debuted in 1995. I just did an IMDB search on him, holy crap, he's still hot as a silver fox, but his silver hair and piercing blue eyes look a bit creepy. Apparently he got his start in gay porn under another name before Days. Funny how that didn't stop them from casting him. Maybe they didn't know at the time or didn't care, but that also didn't stop them from casting Krista Allen (Billie #2) who was doing soft core porn on Cinemax using her own name right before she was cast.

It was alleged that Peter Reckell also had a past in that medium, and Marcus Patrick who played Jett Carver in 2007. Some fans were able to find the Marcus Patrick stuff online if I remember correctly because it was more recent. The show doesn't seem to care, lol.

ETA: The actress who played Beth on Passions (also NBC) did porn too, but I can't remember if she started before, during or after Passions. I just remember the soap press talking about it.

The retiring by the time he's 30 is more of a marketing ploy for most MLM's and I don't think it's about acting only for money, though clearly he's not interested in acting anymore judging his performances this last year or 2. Many of these pyramid schemes tout early retirement to entice people because they say, if you put in 2 or 3 years of hard work and build up your base of distributors (or downline), eventually you can have an early retirement because you will always be earning residual income from other people's sales. All his coaching, and helping others become successful and reach their full potential has nothing to do with altruism and more to do with recruitment, recruitment bonuses and building his base of sales people. Even if he's not selling a product, he's selling a concept and ultimately he benefits monetarily. That's what I find so shady about his empowerment bullshit!

Funny you should mention that. There's an old interview with Jeff from when he was on DAYS and he talks about his ice blue eyes making him scarier as a bad guy.

I thought Jude was a great villain. Cool, creepy and sexy all at the same time.

I always had a small feeling the reason Freddie returned to Days after only a year away was because he missed the money and that his pyramid scheme on the side wasn't giving him the lifestyle he wanted.

CM can be really immature, never could stand him.
I that particular case I didn't notice immaturity - it was funny and on point.

I didn't know the entire context of that tweet and that FS was in on it, so in that instance you are right.

I don't really remember an instance where I thought Chandler was being immature. I definitely felt he was phoning things in closer to the end of his run and that did annoy me, but that's not really something exclusive to age and maturity. I've seen actors of all ages do the same.

I feel like the BTS drama when he was leaving/got fired were greatly influenced by his agent at the time. It could've been handled more gracefully for sure, but there were multiple players involved. I personally thought his decision to leave and continue his schooling was pretty mature and strategic. Most younger actors ride the wave of acting, modeling and fame and lack a fall-back when the success rate in the profession is frankly limited, as tenures on soaps often are too. He essentially made sure he had a fall back. I respect that. He clearly has a good head on his shoulders and I think he'll also be in a better head space being away from his agent.
