I still haven't figured out how to do a good countdown without youtube, so I thought we'd try having a series of discussions. What are some Days scenes that always make you cry?

John returning baby Belle (who had been kidnapped) to Marlena at St. Luke's on Christmas Eve. Gets me every time.

Mine are John's death in 2007, Belle being returned at Christmas in 93, Carrie talking to a comatose Marlena in 86, and Jennifer's final scene with Alice/Jack's dance with Abby in 2006. Also...it's not even well acted but for some reason the scene with Mike finding out Alice died before he could get there and Jennifer being the one to calm him down totally gets to me.

J&M and Family Fanatic!

Hope screaming when Zach died, Christmas 1991 when Sami and Eric rejected John, Most Eric scenes during Sami's 1999 execution, and Marlena singing to Sami. Nearly everything involving John's 2007 death, especially Belle running to her parents right after John was hit by the car, Marlena alone in her room, Sami with Marlena at John's hospital bed. Sami breaking down in Will's apartment after his death. Kate's reaction to realizing Lucas was in the burning K-mansion.

In honor of the 40-ish crew, who are the main reason I enjoyed the show this past month:

For the birthday twinners, Sami and Eric: Sami's execution. Somehow Sami promising Eric that even after she was dead she would still know if he was happy got to me even more than her goodbyes to her parents and child.

For Salem's most recent ex-pat, Nicole: Losing her first miracle baby with Dr. Dick and Brady in attendance.

For the drunken asshole, Brady: Saying goodbye to John in Aremid before John went to the gas chamber. (What? You didn't think it would be anything after the idiot grew up, did you?)

And for the delightfully relevant once more Lucas: Losing custody of Will after the Italy fiasco. Honorable mention to the time Austin ran Sami over and Lucas cried at her bedside because he didn't feel alone when he was with her. It even melted Kate's cold dead heart for a second.

Any scene with Rafe......

Any scene with Daniel.....

No but in all serious now. Memorials for certain people like Alice and Will. Bo's last moments with Hope before he died. The last few times we saw Stefano (Before and after 'he's alive' thing, each time wondering if it would be the last time we'd see him.)

Alice's last scene.

Bo's death.......especially the scene in the park with Kayla. SOBBED out loud. His scenes with Steve and Hope at the end. When Caroline ran to Victor when he came to the pub the night Bo died.

I think Alice and Stefano's deaths hold more weight and are sadder because they died in real life. You know, this is 'just a show', but with soaps, most of us 'grew up with' and/or spent decades with these characters, it makes it feel like we knew them.

Lexi and Bo's death were the two worst for me.
Not really sad, but when Kayla spoke at her and Steve's wedding... :'(
Also Steve's death.

I've never cried watching DAYS, but there have been plenty scenes that made me sad. The scenes with Roman "dying" in Bo's arms after being shot by Stefano and falling off the cliff and follow-up of Bo telling Marlena about the incident were some of the earliest and best sad scenes that I remember. The death of Isabella was hard because Michael Landon had died of the same disease not long before. The deaths of Tom and Alice were hard to take. They were like another set of grandparents to me. Recast Melissa was a very sad situation, but for a different reason, LOL!
