I refuse to watch Eric until he stops sniveling over Nicole. I think I'd be down for JenEric down the road though.

As I see it, the show has one of two options in terms of making Andre work. Either A) He's actually Tony or B) He's Andre, who is playing everyone for a fool and has some evil mastermind plan to destroy the lives of everyone in Salem. Because what's happening right now, isn't working. It would be fine if he was Tony... but it's completely OOC for Andre.

The wedding scenes were GREAT today. However, like I've said before, there are too many holes in this story and too many things unexplained. I'm guessing they'll be explained tomorrow, but they should have been explained before the story started, not after it finished.

I remember in 2008 Rolf was running around the DiMera mansion babysitting and giving Sami advice on life. I'm SO glad Ron has completely ignored that like it never happened, because it was ridiculous lol. I love seeing Rolf on my screen again! Talk about nostalgia.
The story is Andre is trying to become a better person. So its not OOC as much as it is maybe the story you dont like. Its not like he hasnt been called out by most people for being evil. But he has done alot of good since coming back to Salem as well. I like Andre, of course I didnt see him back in the day. Also, the problem with turning him back into a criminal mastermind who destroys lives is that I wouldnt buy that either with everything weve shown over the last 2 years.
I'm all for a redemption plot for a character who stole someone's money. Or recklessly killed someone by accident. Or lied and cheated and schemed and manipulated.

But once someone is an actual serial killer, trying to redeem him is both OOC and a story I don't like.

Since he returned, he brainwashed Chad, kidnapped Sami, threatened Aiden, held Aiden captive, blew up a basement with Rafe and Hope in it... so I don't think they are trying to show Andre changing into a good person. He's a serial killer.
That all happened when he first returned. After Stefano died, and Hope framed him, Andre has been shown to be trying to change.
We've seen him 'trying to change' before. It was all an act then too. So hopefully it is again.

I still hope that he's behind Will's resurrection and has been using him as an assassin for two years.

If he is behind Will's situation than there is no way he can stay on the show. It's really simple, TP works as Tony and he doesn't work as Andre. Are there really many people that would choose to have Andre on the canvas over Tony? It's like having Haitie in Salem and not having Marlena or having Wayne N back as Alex North and him not being Roman Brady.

Andre cannot be Stefano, he can not pull the same type of stuff Stefano did and be as enjoyable. It's like Andre is a cheap version of Stefano and Chad is a cheap version of EJ.
The Dimera's are so lacking right now, just making Andre Tony would inject much needed life into them.

We have no idea what the circumstances are regarding the story. But I think your post is a good example of why this story could be important and eye opening for some viewers if done correctly.

That said, I don't have high hopes in terms of the writers exploring implicit bias.
I suppose it's all matter of likes & dislikes. There is just so much of this type of storyline on the news, in the papers & currently part of most TV shows that air. I just want to escape from life and watch a soap. I would rather see the Horton's and Carvers up in arms about some crazy over the hop storyline than a current social issue. I love that Will was Gay & I loved his coming out storyline.... But right now what I love more is that Paul/Sonny & Will have a triangle, husband back from the dead storyline and being gay is never mentioned because it's fully accepted and really the focus is on the family and the charcters and not the fact that they are gay. For me acceptable is seeing acceptable. I prefer to see the Carvers and the Horton's exist in Salem as they are, in a place that race really has no place. That the charcters are who they are and their color never matters. Where Julie loves Eli as much as she can anyone & his skin color has not been considered. Where JJ can fall in love with a Latino Gabi at one point and now Lani a woman of another color and they are written no different than Abby & Chad loving one another. If there is a triangle between Theo/Claire& Trip it's about who they are and not what color they are. I just happen to enjoy this about Days.
First of all, the comments about there never being a "racial pause" is untrue. They did acknowledge that with Theo/Claire. Second, IDK why that would need to be a prerequisite anyway. Third, we have no idea what actually happens. Fourth, JJ Horton is not a character on this show. Fifth, IMO race not being acknowledged is much more far fetched than any possibility you've listed.
