I wish I believed these Rope arguments would actually lead somewhere.
They are
I'd prefer it led to Rafe being six feet under, but if this is leading to a horrendous Rope ending, that would get me watching again.
Some things are worse than death, especially in soap land. Looking forward to Rafe exploring a few.

Is scriptwriter Rebecca McCarty a weak link? It seems many haven't liked her episodes. Granted, she's working off of breakdown writers who work off the head writer, but the dialogue could be jazzed instead of spazzed!

It was especially irritating today when Hope called Rafe "Hernandez"

Chad and Abby told each other how amazing each are. Reminds me of Dannifer when Jennifer constantly described Daniel as amazing.

Just wanted to flashback to the first time Eric punched someone who called out Nicole.

https://streamable.com/8wnl3

I would have embedded it, but it just starts playing randomly and that might cause issues.
Even though Nicole was bad for Eric (and Lucas) at that time in her life, RoChris was really out of line bellowing about a girl barely out of her teens that way.

I hate the way Kate says DiMera. “Di-meer-a.” Further reason to get her away from this family. Is she one of the ones that murders the pronouication of Kiriakis as well? I can’t remember.

I love Eric’s “oh shit” face at the end.

I think Rafe needs to let Hope do her job and stay out of her decisions. Chad always looks like he is about to start laughing all the time. I liked the Eric and Brady scenes. I have trouble understanding what Eric is saying sometimes though. That's all I got.

i loved today's episode I loved seeing My Chabby nice and happily in love.

Eric punching Brady was great because Brady deserved that Punch

I don't really like Eric and Jennifer together they do not make a great couple.

Kate had no right to ask Chad to not tell Abby. Chad can tell his wife anything he wants.

I dont think it is Andre messing up the company but I think it could be Kristen DiMera or someone who works for DiMera sharing information.
Did Jennifer & Eric share scenes today?
no Jen and Eric did not share scenes today
I thought I missed a scene because there were some posts about not liking them, I thought perhaps there was a scene that was prompting that.

I think I'm ready to lose half the cast in exchange for higher guarantees for the people in actual stories so the show can keep some damn momentum going. They don't use the majority of the cast anyway.
I agree with you, the cast is painful.

I think today was the first day of sweeps. It was good, but not great.

I liked the Eric scenes, even though he was all about Nicole. I liked him talking to Roman about Sami. I would love for Eric to mention Serena, just once. He and Brady were good. Eric's punch was great! I really like this Brady.

Brady and Chloe were enjoyable. I'd like them together, I think.

Rafe is awful. I just can't get into him. Hope deserves much better.

Chad and Abby are ok, not great.

It seems odd to me that Abby is trying to push Jennifer on to Eric so quickly after Nicole has dumped him.

Perhaps she doesn't really consider the Eric & Nicole thing, a thing, since the reunion lasted tops 48hrs. I am pretty sure that Brady & Nicole attended the Abby's double wedding as a couple.

Oh, Rafe's comment about Zach. So low. Hope looks so crushed.
Just when I thought I couldn't hate Rafe more, he opened his damn mouth and said that. I'm not a huge Hope fan but that was absolutely beyond the pale.
Zach's death was so gut wrenching for me and Rafe doing that brought it all up again.

I would hope that if Bo was still around he'd have cleaned Rafe's clock for saying something so horrible.
Her facial expressions were absolutely amazing. Kudo's to Kristian Alfonso for the perfect look.

Those episodes during Zach's death occurred before I had kids. I decided one day to watch it on YouTube AFTER I had children and it was just too much. JER wrote a masterpiece with that one but what a difficult one to watch. Reckell and Alfonso deserved Emmy's, and yet they were not even nominated. That was back when there were enough soaps to ensure the Days snub would be in place. An actor could have given a perfect performance on Days between 1988 and 2009, and never get even a nod (Eileen Davidson and Christie Clarke got nods in the 1990's).

When that was invoked by Rafe today, he went to a new level of hell with me. I have learned something....we eventually get our way if we are loud enough. The actor will quit, or Days will fire him. It's time to gun for Rafe. For too long he has been used at everyone's expense, and he has to go. There is no reason to have him on screen. NONE!

This was an extremely dull episode.

The Brady/Eric confratation was OK, but I'm not feeling GV these days. I don't like the obvious ACTING he's been doing. He used to be more natural. EM moped the floor with him, like he's been doing with most of his scenes partners lately. Chloe and Brady were the highlight of the episode.

Considering everything that is going on in Salem, I highly doubt that The Spectator readership cares about DE. These scenes were clearly just about setting up a new story. Chad and Abby are coma-inducing. Kate still don't know how to pronounce DiMera and it's embarrassing for LK when everyone else in her scenes say it the right way.

Rafe is garbage. Hope should shoot him and plead temporary insanity. I can see Rope imploding and I can't wait for it. Rafe bringing up Zach came off as cruel. I'm not sure if it was supposed to. I can't tell with GG's "acting."

I'm grateful for the two Sami-free episodes.

One thing that I noticed about Rafe since Ron took over is that Ron seems to be intentionally writing Rafe like a jerk, unlike Dena, who wrote him as a jerk, but also wrote him as being in the right most of the time. Rafe is still intolerable, and his mere presence still brings Hope down. But, it helps that Ron is making it a point that Rafe isn't in the right, by trying to control the way Hope does her job, or his hate towards Eli. With that being said, I hope that in the end, this leads to Hope and Rafe FINALLY ending, and Hope can be moved on to a new pairing with a character more interesting, and Rafe can be moved into a coffin in the ground(but since that won't happen, I'll at least settle for him being a background character).

I thought the confrontation played out like a parody of a soap. I think it was the music. They've used that music before, but it really didn't fit in those scenes.

I found the whole thing off. I don't know how to articulate this, but it almost felt like GV and EM weren't acting from the same script. I think like it would have been helped by rehearsing the confratation together. But I know the show doesn't have time for it.

I didn't notice that particular issue, but I know what you mean. I can't think of a good example right now, but sometimes it does feel like the actors aren't acting in the same scenes.

Oh! I know an example. Freddie's Emmy reel the year he won was like that. He and Camila actually both gave decent performances in the scene, but were horrible as a unit. It was super weird!

I don't think it helps the storyline that much that they have made Eric this shattered. He was clearly in love with Nicole and surpressing his feelings, but he wasn't acting the desperate fool he is now. Maybe if the reunion between he and Nicole lasted longer than one night, then I could invest in his heartbreak. But the reunion and move in thing was just a flash, it's hard to buy into all the destruction he caused after or how dispondent he is.
I think his heartbreak would play better if he was doing subtle heartbreak. Something a bit more stowack. I feel as if he morphed into the version of Nicole we had since Daniels death, just crying and yelling.
