Awesome! Finally a really solid week for Days! I forget completely what happened this week, I think this was Dr. Rolf week leading up to Memphis. They had some good gains going into November, now let's hope they keep viewers. Only 6,000-7,000 viewers away from moving up to #3 in 18-49 year olds, too. Great numbers for GH. Jason seeing Sonny and then "crashing" the party was pretty cool. Very nice increase for Days in total viewers, too bad the demos didn't move. I think it helped that we had several big moments in different stories: Sami questionned Rolf, Bonnie got busted and Adrienne was rescued, Eric punched Brady. |

I'd love to read the live7+ ratings, younger people watch more tv on streaming, dvr and on demand these days and not live |

I've never seen soap ratings L+7 posted anywhere. Networks sometimes post press releases with numbers that are higher than we see in L+S, so these numbers must be L+3 or L+7. |

I noticed that too I don't understand why they don't make public live +3 and +7 like for the prime time shows (there are tv series that thanks to those ratings make it double than live) |

FINALLY! Finally we see some of the movement that we've been waiting for. It looks like the Bonnie pay-off, well, paid off. As did the confrontation between Eric and Brady. I do find it interesting though the biggest weekly gain in a while took place when the main moments of the week were non-return/non-Will related. Hopefully people will stick around for Memphis. I REALLY want to see Days get above 2.5Million by the end of this year. |

We haven't seen a press release in a long long time! At least for Days. If those press releases give an average for the season, those are "most current" numbers which means Live+7 except for the last 2 weeks. Example: http://highlighthollywood.com/2016/01/days-of-our-lives-hits-18-month-demo-high-roaring-back-in-the-ratings-game-highlight-hollywood-news/ 9/22/14-1/9/15 Most current = 2.777 million (from the press release) Live+SD = 2.455 million (average of the weekly ratings from SON) 9/21/15-1/8/16 Most current = 2.869 million (from the press release) Live+SD = 2.623 million (average of the weekly ratings from SON) The increases weren't that big (13% for 2014, 9% for 2015) but if a lot of these viewers are in the demo, that might be important. I thought it was interesting that the increase was lower the year the ratings were better. Maybe it's just a matter of some people watching the episodes the same day when they love the show or later in the week when they are not into it. |

Let's do some maths... On 6-20-2017 CBS posted "THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS is averaging 4.93 million viewers". They don't say how the numbers were counted. I assume it's season-to-date L+X. I'll take weeks 1-38 of the season 2016-2017. If my numbers are correct the average L+SD is about 4.52 million. We see the increase of 9,05% in the press release numbers. It's hypothetical because we don't know how CBS counted the numbers. Could this be L+3 or L+7? Edited by thepadange, Nov 5 2017, 01:22 PM.

Thanks, that's close to the number I found for Days. I read for other shows that it's Live+7. It's in the network's best interest to use the biggest number they have in the press release. |

I think they even have L+30 ratings these days. But L+30 is not what advertisers are interested in. From what I've read the most advertisers are still interested in L+3. But on the other hand, I also read that FOX (I think) managed to sell L+7 to their advertisers. So who knows. But if it's L+7 for other shows, probably it's the same for Daytime. The same press release (from 6-20-2017) says "B&B is averaging 3.94 million viewers". I don't have B&B L+SD numbers, what increase in percentages would it be? |

I have 3.653 million for B&B. That means 8% gain from Live+SD to Live+7. |

Oh, just read they are even talking about L+35 and beyond.... NBC's Bob Greenblatt: http://www.adweek.com/tv-video/nbcs-chief-says-broadcast-is-still-profitable-because-of-its-huge-delayed-viewing-audience/ Yearlier this year he said this about Days: NBC Chairman Bob Greenblatt told Deadline, “We haven’t made decisions, but we like that show. I think we will know more in a couple of months. As they age, these shows diminish, there is a lot of delayed viewing and very little linear viewing anymore, you have to keep looking at that.” (Source) If they really can monetize delayed viewing like he says in the article above, that shouldn't be a problem lol. When we moved in June, we switched to streaming only, since cable TV is just out of control with their pricing. These advertisers need to start paying attention to the streaming numbers. I watch Days on the NBC app on my Fire TV everyday. There is just as many commercial breaks, but they are shorter than when you watch on regular TV. |

Who decides the main moments of the week? Because I thought the Rolf stuff was pretty damn central... |

I never understand these numbers but did Days just get a big increase in male viewers if it had an overall increase in all viewers over last year but both female viewer numbers were negative.. |

That and also their demo numbers decrease because viewers are getting older and out of the demos. |

There’s a bunch of demos we don’t get. Idk if Toups gets them or not. There are some either female demos that skew older that could have gone up also. |

And you can't fast forward them either. I watch DAYS mainly on my Global TV GO app, instead of on GLOBAL or NBC on tv. I would watch it on the NBC app but it no longer works in Canada (though I do watch it on that in the US when I am there). The app has less commercials, but you can't fast forward them like TV, so you are in a way forced to watch commercials. |

They were static in W18-54, so the big increase must have been in Women 55+, Girls 12-17 or Male 18+ |
