Can NBC give DAYS a little more budget now. DAYS demos really arent far off the other soaps these days. Happy for the cast and crew! Go DAYS!

My goodness. What a night for Days. I think they tied their own record for the number of wins from last year (5), but the categories they won in were impressive.

This was a really long ceremony, but I’m glad I watched till the end. This is the first time I’ve ever seen Days win all of the big awards, I’m thrilled - the 2017 stuff was good.

If only all these awards meant NBC would throw a little money towards Days for some more sets, better lighting, and a few cast additions...

So...is James the first African-American to win Lead Actor? I wasn't a fan of the writing for that story, but happy for him nonetheless.
Darnell Williams won in 1985 for AMC.
And Al Freeman Jr of One Life to Live won in 1979.

I may be wrong, but I think Kristoff St. James won before.

ETA: Looked it up, KSJ won for Supporting Actor.

James Reynolds started his thank-you speech by paying tribute to:
Al Freeman Jr, Darnell Williams, and A Martinez ... and he said
they were the only men of color who had won lead actor before.

Al Freeman Jr and Darnell Williams - African-American.
A Martinez - Native American.

I know Days has bad periods and is inconsistent, but none of the other soaps are really better. Maybe Y&R but I didn't see much of their 2017 material.

I will say Days compares horribly to the other soaps in production values and that's why they won 0 awards on Friday night.

I wish they could get better sets, clothing and lighting. Whenever I switch over from YR and B&B to Days, the quality of production is so noticeable.

Days has good standalone episodes. They submitted well. But day to day, it's not good. It hasn't been good in a long time.

But congratulations nonetheless.
It feels like when your sports team wins on a disputed call. But,the umpire called it,so you win.

Congrats to Days and all the winners.

They won in the categories where money doesn't have a ton to do with it.
