If only all these awards meant NBC would throw a little money towards Days for some more sets, better lighting, and a few cast additions...
Now that Days has proven it can make a show on a shoestring budget, have higher ratings than last year, and rack up awards, I can't see a higher budget.....ever. Still this is a big, big night.

I was thinking about it, and last year wasn't the best year Days ever had.....not even close. However, for so many years when it was the best daytime drama on TV, it was snubbed. I'll take tonight and run with it.

I am stoked!

I don't care about poor production just now. Day to day I do, but I'm too happy to dwell on it at the moment.

Days cleaned up at the Daytime Emmys and I think it's great.

The wins were big and for the first time in a long while I felt Days was not the step-child of Daytime.

I am so excited for Eileen but I would have been happy if Marci had snagged it too. I watched her reel again today and it was really good. I hated pretty much all of the writing for Abby in 2017, but Marci definitely picked the best scenes possible for her reel.

I was really happy with most of the wins: yay for James and Greg! James Reynolds' Emmy is like decades overdue, so seriously about time for him to get that honour!

I was disappointed with the younger actor category - I think Hudson West deserved the award, and if not him then definitely Casey Moss (Rome Flynn had one of my least favourite reels within the category).

I also think Maura West got robbed - out of everyone, she deserved the lead actress award. I love Eileen though, so I was still happy to see her getting some praise at the ceremony.

DAYS really cleaned house tonight between the directing win, the writing win, the show win, and James & Greg's respective wins. I wish this would give NBC to incentive to up the show's budget - clearly they're being well received and have potential, so why not elevate them even further in terms of production values? One could only hope, though I doubt they will.

CONGRATULATIONS TO "DAYS OF OUR LIVES", WHICH BECOMES JUST THE SECOND DAYTIME DRAMA TO WIN EMMYS FOR BEST SERIES, WRITING AND DIRECTING IN THE SAME YEAR!

Posted Image

"Ryan's Hope" accomplished the feat twice, in 1977 and 1979.

Days has good standalone episodes. They submitted well. But day to day, it's not good. It hasn't been good in a long time.

But congratulations nonetheless.
This. I think I read somewhere that they submitted the double wedding. Even I still have that on DVD. They submitted well. But if it was for the entire year or whatever, it wouldn’t have won.

I had trouble with the live stream so missed most of the good stuff. I thought the only winner from Days was going to be Casey Moss. I’m so bummed he lost, but I am so so so happy for Greg Vaughan!! He is amazing and I worried he would be overlooked. I am just thrilled he won!!

It would be nice if she won with a better story in the future, but she chose really well from her material last year. I'm just relieved the none of the GH actresses won because I did not enjoy those reels.
