With his arrogance I hope he is gone, plus he has phoned in his performances for way too long. And this is coming from a HUGE DAYS fan for those who don't know, not someone who just disses Drake at each chance I get. |

Anna, I will write. I have already written a few. I for one believe if Drake is gone the show has shot itself in the right leg and whatever happens to it the show deserves. I said the same thing when GL killed off Maureen Bauer and when AW killed of Frankie Frame |

I'll send my thoughts along, too. If this is indeed true, the show cannot take a loss like this and recover in the ratings. |

I still say it's all a publicity stunt. |

^With the ratings as they are, I think it's not the smartest decision, but I think it's a good business decision. Hell, without paying his salary they could probably squeek on with a 1.0 rating. That's just my opinion though. but I don't see the ratings dropping SO drastically. But maybe they will. That being said, I support efforts to keep Drake, but I'm not sure this is a publicity stunt as I question whether they could afford him. |

Guys, I think we should wait until its officially announced that Drake has been let go. At least with the cases of other fired stars, we knew ahead of time. We don't know if this is certain as of now. |

Do you guys remember last year when OLTL made it look like Todd was going to be killed off and had Trevor St. John do exit interviews in the soap magazines? For the execution event OLTL did get a ratings spike, but it was never able to hold on to that audience. I think Days might be trying for something similar. |

But there was never a spoiler that specifically said that Todd wasn't revived. It said the execution went through, but most people still knew that he would live. If Days kills John, as much as I would hate it, maybe it would be the last thing Sheffer ever did as head writer. |

If it is it's a dumb one. For one if they do end up letting his death be another fake one, they lose credibility with the audience and with critics of the show again for making yet another mockery of death. Two, letting disgruntled fans think that John is going to be killed off is not sitting well with them. Three, killing off someone after promising his fans that he would get a story, not giving him one, and then dismissing him is the surest way not to get those fans back. And fourthly the whole thing whether hoax or real does nothing to build confidence in the show and it's executives when they continually promise and don't deliver. People don't trust the people behind Days right now. A fake death or a real death will deliver the same results. |

At this point, I don't think it matters whether he goes or stays. I see damage to the show both ways. The whole thing should have never been done at all. It is one of those situations where Days does damage no matter what. As I said before even if John is not dead, once again Days has repeated the rinse, lather, repeat cycle and repeated the damn thing of he's dead/no he's not again. Totally adding to the fact that Days has no credibility at all. |

ICAM Steve! Publicity stunt, real exit, fake death - the damage will still be the same. |

It definitely matters if he stays or is fired. There is a distinct, clear difference. |
