Geez! You would swear that he was on the show for years or something the way he and his manager are talking. I don't think there are very many people that even give a shit that he is leaving. He is not that great of an actor, not that attractive (he doesn't do anything for me), and added nothing to the show. He was another boring useless character that they didn't need. He can bring the ratings up?? LOL! What a crock of shit.

GET EM STEPH!!

My God...could Marcus's ego get any larger? To make matters worse, the agent is stroking it with his comments. This guy thinks he is bigger then Ali and other stars and that he can single-handedly aid in bringing the ratings up? Did he see the ratings this summer? The TTS story brought the whole show down and is the reason why the ratings tanked. Idiot. Farah Fath and him would get along well together. Someone should play matchmaker for them.

I still think his other "activities" played a role but I also think this came down to his acting ability, much like Trevor Donavon. I can't believe some of these comments about Jim Reynolds and does he realize Ashley is coming on and Tanya Boyd is still there. Days does need more diversity but they have had that in bit parts this year. China Lee, Nick's kids, etc. They have made an effort at least. It's too bad these two had to be so arrogant because some of the things they said made me hopeful like them mentioning the show needing balance improvement and how stories did not end up as well as they should've. It sounds to me like Marcus hated the fact that the feud story took away from the spotlight being on him. He shouldn't because TT had more focus all summer then the feud.

Whatever the case, I can't take any of this shit seriously. The fact that they think Days is a show with writers having control over it is a red flag. Days has always had Corday and Wyman interfering and the fact that his agent thinks Corday is a smart businessmen and needs to shake things up actually frightens me. Corday is so far from that it isn't even funny. I do believe what he said about Wyman because everyone seems happy he is gone. The rest is BS and egotistical shit that only makes me happier his untalented ass got tossed out the door. I am so glad because I did not want him anywhere near Billie. I actually hate the fact that they were even going there since Billie already slept with one guy her daughter was interested in with Nick so why would they go there again? Ugh.

Thank God he's gone.

God, I couldn't even finish reading it, he annoyed me so much. Just shut up!

I tend to agree. He's so long-winded.

And what's up with the "three successful" months? Talk about stroking your ego.

In closing, I am a humanitarian. I rescued Michelle Maylene from the porn business

OK how has no one commented on this yet!

Forget Ed Scott's environmentalism, forget James Scott's company to help third world economies, forget the charity work everyone else on DOOL does... it's Marcus Patrick who's the humanitarian because he is dating an ex-porn star? WHAT.THE.FUCK?

I have to step aside from my reaffirmed heterosexuality/conservatism/Christianity to say HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELL NO!!!

What the HECK is that about?!!

This SOFTCORE PORN STAR, who JUST A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO HAD A SPREAD IN (an adult magazine -- in natural suit)?!!

Saying THAT?!!!

Wow.

WHOA.

This was written by Marcus's agent. I saw it at FL. I guess it was posted up at NBC.

Dear Crazy4Jett and all his other wonderful fans,

This is Marcus' agent. I too was shocked when we got the call that they weren't picking up Marcus' contract. Several times when I was on set with him he was called "Superstar" by Ed Scott (a very nice man with a very tough job). We felt good about the association with Days and the wonderful "family" feeling Marcus got from many at NBC. There was tension prior to Ed Scott's arrival as Stephen Wyman was a bit abusive to the cast members. But that seemed to subside as Ed began his reign. We all felt the love from the fans as we paid attention to the blogs and felt that Marcus may (along with all the other great cast members) be just the ticket to bring Days ratings up to a respectable level. The Touch the Sky storyline was weak at best, and his relationship with Chelsea wasn't quite believeable, but Marcus did his best to bring realism and a higher level of acting to the show. We all felt that a possible relationship with Billie was coming, but then BOOM the hammer went down.

The greatest thing about his time on Days again was the love from the fans.

His PLAYGIRL has become the biggest selling issue ever and continues to sell. His popularity soared on IMDB to 1990 (a low number is great) eclipsing even Allison Sweeney as the top rated character/star on Days. I had to take a step back and wonder where this came from. Why would you bench your lead player? No matter if he was a "rookie" on the soap or not, he was a ratings bonanza.

I had the pleasure of meeting with Ed Scott and we spoke of today's television (daytime and nightime) and he spoke of diversity. The need to bring Days into reality. The world isn't all white bread anymore. I asked him just how many times can Stefano come back from the grave? It was bordering on ridiculous. The vendetta story was a joke and the twins are just a rehash of the same old stuff Days has been airing for the last 25 years. Bringing back the old characters was a band aid fix. And if it was meant to bring viewers, it failed miserably. I felt he was in agreement.

I had the pleasure of getting close with Abe (James Reynolds) Carver. He is a class act. But face it. He has been on that show forever and has had no real story line. I don't want to say token, but if the shoe fits. Why not make a story involving the Carver family. The are upstanding and respected on the show. Perhaps bring in an extremely strong female Carver to do battle with someone.

I think everyone is tired of the Brady/Dimera fued. If I read the blogs correctly Sami is so over exposed and over played. Lucas (Bryan Datillo) is not the anchor male the show needs.

We are lucky. Marcus is loved by the networks. They know (it is their business) that he is ratings waiting to happen. Whether it is a difficult acting piece, or a steamy scene, Marcus can handle it. We are so blessed that immediately after his release, we were able to secure meetings with the heads of Daytime at CBS and ABC. You never know where he'll pop up. Also, Jett hasn't been killed off, just let out of his contract. Hope (Kristen Alfonso) was off the show for 5 years. Things happen.

I heard from reliable sources, that Days is the only show where the writers seem to have control. Well my only response is that Ken Corday needs to shake things up in a big way or Days will disappear. NBC will leave the daytime drama to the other networks and fill the void with something else. I don't blame them. The lame horse doesn't run in the race anymore. The strong survive.

I think it's time for you the viewers to force Days to put up or go away. You can control what happens by airing your views here. Let them know you're not going to put up with mediocrity. No more ridiculous storylines. Get current. Bring in ethnic diversity. The sponsors will reap the benefits if a more culturally diverse market starts watching Days. Just think, Marcus alone reached out to several demographic groups that probably never tuned into a soap. African American, Latino, and the Gay markets are the fasting growing consumer markets in the country. Why court the tired and stale, when you can go for new and fresh. This was a marketing blunder that could just sink the show.

In closing, you as fans have a responsiblity to tell Ken Corday what you want. I am sure he'll listen. He is a brilliant businessman. Sometimes you just get blinded and lose your way. Maybe your voices will awaken the giant and Ken will put his foot down and make the changes.

Crazy4Jett, I wish you and all the fans all blessings in your lives and will always be grateful for your kind words and support for my very best client and my friend Marcus Patrick.

Jett's Agent

:o

Has any agent and star duo ever been so outspoken about a firing?!

I'm conflicted. On the one hand, I agree on several points, but DAMN, I think they are blowing Marcus' effect on "Days" out of proportion.

UTTERLY STUNNED that NO ONE jumped on the Wyman comment.

I mean, that's like hot gossip right there.

Just what did Wyman do to our poor "Days" stars?! :o

The only reason I haven't commented on the Wyman part is because that's literally the ONLY thing these two egotistical pinheads have said that I actually agree with! (well, okay, aside from there needing to be more diversity in daytime)

Dear Marcus,

Don't let these haters get you down. Not that you will, of course- people as gifted as you rarely let a few negative comments drag you down.

And, being that you are truly God's gift to us all, I'm glad that you and your representative didn't even consider that your IMDB ranking had anything to do with your naked behind (one of the best behinds in the history of photography, as I'm sure you know) being all over the internet. For how erroneous would it be to assume that people were merely trying to match the ass with a name and, searching for said ass, read your IMDB bio!

I'm also truly gratified that you didn't let basic facts (like, say the recent ratings slide coming after your arrival) affect your strong sense of self worth. After all, why worry about the thousands who were turned off when there were tens- perhaps dozens- who you turned on. With your acting ability, of course (reminiscent of a young Brando? I think so!).

And, my strong Black brother, I am glad that you and your agent called Emmy-nominated actor James Reynolds out for being a token. That poor bastard probably thought he was helping present a consistent portrayal of African Americans in a positive, non-stereotypical light. And, I mean, it's not like the existence of his character allowed for the existence of yours!

After reading that comment, however, I most definitely will contact Corday the brilliant businessman in hopes of helping you get your job back. Oh my bad- you're already so far beyond the show (not that you weren't beyond it before) you probably weren't trolling the internet for help. I sincerely apologize. My mind is weak.

Finally, I too am appalled at those who callously label art "soft core porn," and at those who fail to see the brilliance in getting paid to work out in a way that you love. I too enjoy dancing. Perhaps you ought to consider marketing strip-dance as a way for people to have fun and lose weight. Not stripping as exercise as it currently exists; but with all the added cardio and weight training one gets dodging the hands of frisky customers and carrying cash in one's speedo.

So, Mr. Patrick- good luck and godspeed, not that you'll need luck with talent like yours. Unlike these other fools I have seen and embraced the warm light of goodness you radiate, and I will follow your career as you advance towards your true destiny.

Oh- I almost forgot: Thank you for rescuing that poor stupid helpless woman from pornography. If only more people could be like you and eradicate the wrongheaded notion that women are capable of forging their own career path. Though I am a might confused as to why she would need rescuing when her art is not so radically different from your own, I am sure that confusion stems from the fact that I am not as amazing as you are.

And one day, if I am lucky, I hope to find the kind of love that you and she have. The kind of love that involves rescue and calling one's lover out in a public forum as being a former whore in need of saving. The kind of love that would make someone demand gratitude in said public forum for rescuing that poor, lost, ho (um, ex-ho, thanks to you!). Oh...you two have such a bright blessed future!

Keep the faith (remember: Jesus was misunderstood, too!)!

Much love,

Px.

After all... tomorrow is another day!

OK the agent sounds just as delusional and unprofessional as Marcus but his post was interesting.

1. Stephen Wyman was abusive? I thought a bunch of people were buds with him. Wasn't he pictured at Martha's wedding with Ali Sweeney, BD, RM and others? And isn't he buds with Thaao too? That was kind of... odd.

2. The agent really liked Ken Corday but made Ed Scott sound two-faced. Sounds like Kenny isn't in control right now and Ed is, but it was Ken who brought him on and pushed the TTS summer storyline (and also the Brady-DiMera feud storyline) and Hogan wasn't interested in either of them and that's why they sucked so much... especially moreso once he got done being busy with filming SoapStar it seemed like. To me, this doesn't absolve Hogan for their suckiness because I think if Hogan had given them half a chance they could have been awesome, but Hogan just wasn't interested and didn't bother hiding that and that's why everything suffered and why everything seemed so haphazard and disjointed with all the returns and then the returnees disappearing from sight for weeks at a time.

3. What was said about DOOL being a more writing-centered show heightened my suspicion that Ed is sort of giving Hogan free reign to do his thing right now which is why we are getting do-overs on so much with John Black REALLY dying this time, another rape story and them finally having an EJ killed whodunnit (I'm speculating based on the kajillion anvils, this is not a spoiler-based comment ;). It also ensures that I will continue to hold Hogan accountable for the poor quality of this show's stories whenever it surfaces.

4. OK I get the shot at Ali Sweeney because there are complaints about her on the blogs, but Bryan Dattilo? That was kind of a random pot shot. I mean ICAM with the sentiment that Lucas/Bryan is not the anchor male this show needs but what agent for another client says that? And why?

If you look at today's television, it is still quite behind the times as far as involving people of color. Days of Our Lives in fact now will have only one person (a black man) as their ethnic character (token).

Not true. James Reynolds is not the only black person on 'Days'. After Renee Jones leaves we will still have Ashlee (IWBASS winner), Tanya Boyd, and Carmen (sorority girl).

His ego is almost as big as his penis. That's the biggest turn-off in a person.

I absolutely hate the way he basically referred to daytime actors as pieces of shit with low-level talent. What the hell does he think of himself? He might be damn good looking, but he's also very wooden stoic in his line delivery.

Did he actually go through the IMDB profiles of every single actor/actress on Days just to see if their rating was higher than his? Also, he thought his high-selling issue of Playgirl would cause the Days ratings to rise? Please, please. You're a newbie on this show, nothing more.

Meanwhile, he's right about daytime (and Days in specific) needing better race representation. There's a giant audience of black folks who watch soap operas, and they're just not being represented or marketed to as they should be. I believe that Y&R is (or at least was) the soap that had the largest AA following, because their community was well represented with the characters of Olivia, Drucilla, Malcolm and Neil. Now, only one is left and I'd be interested to see what percentage of the AA audience has left now that they're not being represented as fully as in the past. Do soaps think that it will turn white folks away if there are too many black folks on the show or something? Same goes for the large audience of gay men who watch soaps, yet they have the least amount of representation in daytime than anyone (except Asians, perhaps).

At the same time, however, diversity for the sake of diversity is a bad idea, as well. I would hate to have the cast bombarded with dozens of newbies that I don't give two steamy shits about just to see a little more diversity. They must have a purpose.

I honestly don't think MP really cares about the representation. I think he was just playing the race card so he comes off as some martyr, which he's not at all.
