On the ellen degeneres show
...a bunch of us from the cast of Days surprised Mary, a huge Days fan, on the Ellen show.
It all happened sorta last minute for us, but last Wednesday a bunch of us from the cast of Days surprised Mary, a huge Days fan, on the Ellen show. Mary has watched Days her whole life! She even named her son, Austin Patrick after Austin’s original portrayer, Patrick Muldoon. It was so fun to be asked to be part of Ellen’s No Way November, and I loved getting to go surprise Mary at her hotel. And Mary was so sweet and excited. She told me that reading my book helped her lose 90 lbs, and seriously, that really hit me. She was so heartfelt talking about her struggles with weight, and as I all of you when I wrote it – that’s why I did it. Knowing my book helped her get her life back on track means everything to me. What more could I ask for?
And then she also shared with me her struggles with younger daughter’s health. And as they were facing that battle, Days helped her forget about her problems for an hour every day. It was so cool, listening to her talk about all the characters she loves on the show – knowing she was going to be meeting them in a couple moments! When they walked out there?! She was shocked! It was such a great surprise. And of course, Peter (Bo) she was so thrilled to meet and Bryan (Lucas) made a quite a show of welcoming her! I have a feeling she’ll never forget that moment!
After she sat with us we took her over to ‘Salem’. She got to meet Stephen (Steve) and MaryBeth (Kayla) at the Brady Pub, and we showed her around all the different sets. Mary was so fun and sweet, it was such a blast. I’m so glad it worked out so well, and that she got to have such a fun experience her first time in LA!
