Stephanie is Shot!

Eric's big "comeback" fashion show ends with a bang this week on The Bold and the Beautiful when someone takes a shot at Stephanie.

"It's a big whodunnit!" enthuses John McCook [Eric]. "We always have some major story happening during our fashion shows, but this goes above and beyond anything we've done before. It turns the show upside down."

Not to mention Stephanie's life.

The shooting takes place "In the empty showroom, after everybody files out," sets up McCook. "Stephanie comes back in and goes, 'G----damnit, why do I always have to be the one to turn out the lights?'"

Then someone pulls a gun behind Steph and turns out her lights. "A gunshot rings out, and she goes down," describes McCook. "Donna is the first one to find her, and then Eric comes in."

It's not a pretty sight. "The first thing Eric sees is donna bending over Stephanie," sighs McCook. "His first impression is that Donna is responsible, but of course she denies it."

The duo calls the paramedics, "and suddenly everybody is there, all the Logans, all the Forresters, all the models are hanging around in various states of undress. They end up having every suspect who would possibly have a reason to kill Stephanie all in the same room. It's very Agatha Christie," laughs McCook.

Paging Hercule Poirot! "Lt. Baker, who is the only detective in Los Angeles, comes in," cracks McCook. "His son Charlie joins him. He's gone through the academy and he's a detective already, even though he's only 25. He steps right into the mix."

That's when all the questions begin. '"Who would dare shoot Stephanie?'" Eric is like, 'Who wouldn't?' Everybody has a good reason for crossing that line," warns McCook. "Including Eric."
