This was included in NBC's holiday programming press release....

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 25

DAYS OF OUR LIVES (Check Local Listings)

CHRISTMAS TIME IN SALEM - This year's Christmas in Salem is filled with family drama as usual. Sami (Alison Sweeney) wants to have Christmas with Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) and the twins but Lucas says he wants to be with their other son Will, who's in Switzerland. Belle (Martha Madison) tries to hide her awkwardness around Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso) on Christmas since she knows they are aware that she, Belle, cheated on their son, Shawn (Brandon Beemer). Meanwhile, Bo and Hope celebrate their Christmas Eve Wedding Anniversary and at the Salem Hospital Max (Darin Brooks) dresses up as Santa and Nick (Blake Berris) dresses up as an elf for a reading with the children. Deidre Hall, Joe Mascolo, Frances Reid, Jim Reynolds, Mary Beth Evans, Stephen Nichols, James Scott, Jay Johnson, Lauren Koslow, Suzanne Rogers, Peggy McCay, Frank Parker, Julie Pinson, Rachel Melvin and Shelley Hennig also star.

Awww, we'll be seeing Frances!! Is this the day of the Horton ornament hanging, or will that be happening on the Christmas Eve episode? Hell, with so few Hortons, will there even be an ornament hanging? I don't see Doug and Julie on the cast list... I'm disappointed in that.

Can't believe they remembered Bo & Hope's Christmas Eve wedding anniversary. Color me shocked as hell.

Meanwhile, Stefano's on the Christmas episode? Interesting. A little evil to offset all the Christmas joy, LoL.

Thank God Frances will be there! At first when I read nothing about Alice, I was about to be REALLY unhappy.

We might get to see Doug and Julie at Christmas, especially if alice and maggie are there...If you look at the writeup for the Thanksgiving episode, you will see that Doug and Julie are not listing in the cast list..but we've seen pics of them at the wedding..maybe they don't list people who aren't on contract..

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 23

THANKSGIVING WEDDING FOR BELLE & SHAWN - The families of Salem gather for Shawn (Brandon Beemer) and Belle's (Martha Madison) wedding on Thanksgiving at Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope's (Kristian Alfonso) house. In a touching moment of strength since she lost John (Drake Hogestyn), Marlena (Deirdre Hall) walks Belle down the aisle. Alison Sweeney, Mary Beth Evans, Bryan Dattilo, Stephen Nichols, Jay Johnson, Lauren Koslow, Joe Mascolo, Peggy McCay, Frank Parker, Julie Pinson, Josh Taylor, Suzanne Rogers, Rachel Melvin, Darin Brooks, Blake Berris, Jim Reynolds and Shelley Hennig also star.

I also like the idea of Max and Nick as Santa and an elf....that could be really cute..I'm glad Nick is back in the fold, i've missed him..

Thanks Kev! So, I guess Shawn won't know about Belle and Phillip until some time next year.

I'm a little nervous. Will they even have the hanging of the ornaments this year?

Alice, Maggie, Julie, Lucas, Hope, Nick are all blood Horton's right?

Maybe Alice will be reading the Christmas story at the hospital?

As far as the Hortons go, there's still Hope, Shawn, Ciara (I STILL hate that name, btw), and by extension, Bo.

Ridiculous. Not 90% of it but definitely the Lucas/Sami/Will stuff. Are they phasing Bryan out? Are they still completely non-commital on which direction they are going to go? Where's the mention of the ornament hanging? Max as Santa? Okay, more than 90%.

Why wouldn't they be?

Like someone already said, Doug and Julie were not listed in the cast on Nov 23 either and we know they are there. Last year, we weren't told anything about Christmas or Doug and Julie's return until like 2 weeks before. Hogan did Christmas last year the right way and Corday is there so there is no way they are not going to do ornaments.

Keep in mind this is listed on Chrismas Day, which I guess means they will be airing on Christmas Day so the ornaments may be on the Christmas Eve show or something. Last year, I think Days was off Christmas Day (of course, they were also a day behind so the 26th was the Christmas Eve episode).

If they are on Christmas Day, I'm glad. I love coming home after a long day of celebrating to watch it. Days' Christmas is the best. I find it funny that Stefano is listed on the cast list too but I think I have a feeling why *cough* married to Marlena *cough*

I thought the same thing when I read that Lucas wanted to be with Will. He is off to Switzerland.

I think the fact that Frances and Suzanne are mentioned means the Horton ornament hanging will happen, it's just that Lucas and Sami don't go to it and apparently there is some drama with that. I wouldn't be sad if Lucas just went away for good, but I'm not anticipating that.

The fact that Joe Mascolo is mentioned makes me excited because I'm curious to see what a DiMera Christmas is like.

I'm not concerned that there are no mentions of the ornament hangings on the December 25th episode. The Hortons hang their ornaments on Christmas Eve, usually while the Bradys go to Midnight Mass. That's how it's done every year. Then, on Christmas Day, the Hortons (and whoever else) gather at the hospital for the reading of the Christmas Story to the children.

That's the tradition.

If the ornament hanging doesn't take place, or for that matter, the tradition doesn't continue, I will be disappointed. If theres one prominent thing that DAYS is known for in my eyes, is there traditions and family gatherings.
