In a stunning move, Drake Hogestyn (ex-John Black, DOOL) will be checking into GENERAL HOSPITAL. Actually, it's not all that shocking. Even before the ultrapopular DAYS hero bit the dust in Salem, rumors abounded over where Hogestyn would wind up next, with the top rumors placing him back in Salem as a new character (tentatively titled Russell McAllister) or on GH reprising the role of Dr. Jeff Webber, made famous by future MACGYVER Richard Dean Anderson. Well, now, the verdict is in: Hogestyn is making his way to GH's Port Charles come February, barring interference from the ongoing writer's strike, insiders say, but he won't be playing Liz's father. Instead, Hogestyn is filling the shoes of another Port Charles resident. He assumes the part of Connor Olivera, played in 1991-1992 by Michael Lynch. Connor was a singer at Mac Scorpio's club, the Outback, who was ultimately revealed to be the son of ex-spy Sean Donely. Connor flirted with many ladies in Port Charles, including Shell Danielson's Dominique, before vanishing, never to be seen or heard from again ... until now. Insiders whisper Connor's return is part of GH's plan to revive the characters of Sean and his wife, Tiffany, with their rapidly aged, never before seen daughter, Annie, close behind. John Reilly (Alistair, PASSIONS) and Sharon Wyatt (ex-Rachel Crane, PASSIONS) are said to be in negotiations to return. Brandi Burkhardt (ex-Siren, PASSIONS) may end up in the role of Annie. Whatever happens, Connor, as played by Hogestyn, is expected to make much more of a splash in PC this go-round. Rumor has it he was a victim of Sam's marital fraud, and is out for revenge. "We haven't had such an exciting change in character since Jerry Jacks," GH Head Writer Bob Guza gushed from the picket lines. "I can't wait to let Drake settle in Port Charles in the form of one of our most famous legacy characters." http://soapzone.com/boards/read.php/gh/main/9320952 |

I don't know whether I believe this rumor or not, but GH is big on big returns during February sweeps. Since John Reilly is not on contract with Passions as far as I know - him coming on to GH for short term is possible. He can do both shows if he doesn't sign a contract with them just like Susan Hayes did Y&R & Days last December at the same time and Wally Kurth is supposed to be seen on GH during his stint on ATWT the last rumor I heard. Having Sean & Tiffany return for sweeps would be like Robert and Anna returning a year or so ago. This is weird - some things I see and some I don't. |

I wouldn't mind seeing Sean and Tiffany, but I don't want Drake on GH. If it's anything like Robert and Anna, we'll see them for a few months and then they'll be forgotten about all over again. |

I'm skeptical about this. But there is definitely a campaign to bring the vets back. I'm not sure I believe this about Drake though. I've noticed that especially on weekends the fake rumors seem to show up more than usual. There's one out now that Emily is not really dead, but had some kind of brain chip put in her head to appear dead. And that in a few months Emily will return ( a new actress) with Nicholas's baby. |

I'm skeptical too. I think I'd rather Drake be playing Jeff Webber instead of Connor though. I don't see a place for Sean & Tiffany on GH now unfortunately. If GH brought Sean & Tiffany back, they'd end up seen about as much as Mike, Bobbie, Noah & Anna and probably maybe even ruined/ a bad immitation of thier former selves. I like the idea of Emily not being really dead. I hope it's true. |

I hope emily isn't dead, first of all. Secondly, I know GH is big on bringing back big name characters/actors for sweeps, but I can't see them bringing on four more characters, when they are killing of core characters, I know if I was writing the show I wouldn't be doing that, but hey I'm not writing. |
