The administration and staff of Daytime Royalty have been working the last few weeks on compiling the first set of nominees in our 1st Annual Daytime Royalty Soap Opera Awards.

The process we used is to have staff members divide up into teams as far as the shows in which they chose to serve. Each member of that team submitted a set of pre-nominations for their assigned show. The people from each show with the most votes in each category were selected as pre-nominees for that show. Each category was presented to the whole staff and votes were taken and the either the top 5 or 6 in each category was placed on the final nomination ballot.

The eligibility period for nominations was from November 1, 2006 to November 1, 2007.

In coming weeks, the administration of Daytime Royalty (Rick, Kenny, King, Rhiannon, and myself) will select a Secret Panel made of aministration, staff, and special members chosen by the administration to choose the winners. The panel will be set up so that each show will be equally represented with people who watch that show and are fans. That panel will make their votes and the winners will be announced. An official date will be announced later.

In The Ballroom there will be a special thread set up for you to pimp your faves to the judges on the panel. You can post video clips and messages to state your case why that person should win.

Please do not ask who is on the Secret Panel as the identity of those judges will not be revealed.
