Emily Is Dead, But Nikolas Still Sees Her. Nik is plagued by nightmares and scared he may have killed Emily and struggles to hold onto his sanity. When he gets back from her funeral, he sees Emily. To quote Guza, "It's a fully corporeal Emily, fully fleshed out. She's not diaphanous. She's not looking like some weird harpy from the underworld. She looks just like she did in that beautiful ball gown when Nikolas came into the bedroom prior to the ball and proposed. She speaks normally. Nikolas can touch her. Nikolas can kiss her." Nikolas is obviously very confused by all of this and doesn't understand how this could be happening. Both of them struggle to figure out what is going on with Nik asking her things like is she a ghost and has she seen Alan in the afterlife. She tells him "No, I'm just me, Emily." The last thing she remembers is coming into that room. At this point she says a pivotal line that is a key to the story which will echo throughout. Nik asks her if he did this to her, if he blacked out and killed her. She says "Nikolas, you would never hurt me." According to Guza this is when things start to get interesting. The mystery starts there and unravels until halfway through 2008. "She is not a ghost and she is not his conscience. Just exactly what she is has yet to be revealed, but I guarantee you, it will make for one of the most romantic stories we've ever told." NL backs Guza up and says Nem are an "epic romance" and that it is love till the millionth degree, that it has a real fairytale aspect about it. She's also relieved that the truth about Emily's death and her staying on is finally out in the open. She praises Guza and how fortunate she's been. Guza says most actors don't give a darn about a story that starts with 'Um, you're dead.' But in this situation NL was part of the process so it was not a shock to her when she heard what the story really was. "She was touched and excited about the chance to play it. She's a stand-up actress and believe me, she brings it all to this story." http://soapzone.com/boards/read.php/gh/main/9337774 |

I'm definitely intrigued as to where the Nik/Em story is gonna go. What the heck could she be if she's not a ghost, and Nik's not making her up? EeeeK! I'm excited, LoL. |
