Marcie's hiding place in Paris, Tex., is uncovered this week on "One Life to Live" by a very unlikely person - David Vickers.

"She's living in the hotel across the street from the diner, relying on Gigi to bring her food and diapers," says Kathy Brier of her character's life on the run with adopted son Tommy since the court awarded custody of Tommy to Todd.

"Marcie is too scared to go out-side of the hotel room. Gigi is her lifeline. She assumes Marcie is a battered woman and Marcie lets her believe that."

Gigi works at the diner with Viki, who was close with Marcie in Llan-view before both their lives unraveled and they ran away.

"Viki doesn't know Marcie is there yet," continues Brier. "David finds Marcie because there's a knock on the door and Marcie thinks it's Gigi leaving a bag of groceries. When Marcie opens the door, there is somebody she knows from home."

David doesn't recognize Marcie at first.

"She doesn't look like herself," says Brier, referring to Marcie's new hair color and glasses. "She tries to play it off the best she can, but he starts questioning her about her groceries in true David fashion. 'Oh, I see you have diapers. Do you have a baby? Are you a woman on your own?' He's always putting his nose in places he shouldn't."

Marcie is able to put David off, but he later goes to see Viki and she mentions Marcie kidnapping the baby. Ding! David remembers Marcie and goes back to confront her.

"Marcie's like, 'No! You don't know me!' They go back and forth and he eventually figures out it's her. Then, he tries to extort

money from her! Here are these two characters who don't know each other - this is what I love about the scenes - and he's trying to extort money from her while she's trying 20 million tactics to get him to not rat on her."

Finally, Marcie appeals to David's less mercenary side.

"She says she is a lot like David," says Brier. "She says they both use their sense of humor to cover up the pain inside. For the first time, you see David really taken aback. He agrees not to say anything, but he knows Viki is in the building. Sooner or later, the truth will come out and he won't have to feel responsible for it."

Indeed, rumor has it Marcie will soon be getting a job at the diner where Viki works.

"All I can tell you is, the first time Marcie sees her, she can't see her. A very, very funny scene ensues."
