DAYS beloved vets, Doug and Julie, make an appearance on the Horton Christmas show (to be shown on Dec 26). Bill will sing "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas". Frances Reid is also in that show. http://members.tripod.com/~Hartlee/index.html |

That sounds excellent! I'm so very happy that we'll get to see Frances again, and I also love the part about Doug singing (my favorite Xmas song, no less). Doug and Julie really are the next Tom and Alice of the show, or at least they should be. |

I love that they are making an effort to include Doug and Julie at all the holidays. Even if I wouldn't be sad if we saw them getting to do more than just one particular scene here or there it's still nice that there does seem to be some thought into these things after we had the Horton-Brady 4th of July picnic, the Bradys and Hortons celebrating Thanksgiving together for Belle and Shawn's wedding and now this Christmas treat. If only this was the re-opening of Doug's Place or something that he was singing at... but I know that's only in blogs here. |

The episode airs December 26? That doesn't make sense. DAYS always airs on Christmas Eve and Christmas day, so what would be the reason to have the Horton Christmas not until the 26th? |

Great news that Frances will be able to be on the Christmas episode. So glad. Now if DAYS could get John Clarke to return sporadically as Mickey. |

Well, last year the preemption pushed it to the 26th but the 25th was on a Monday and Days was not on that day. In fact, they have been preempted every single Christmas day that fell on a weekday in recent years with the exception of 2001 and 2002. It must be being preempted on the 25th if the Christmas episode is on the 26th. Although, the spoilers we had earlier for the Christmas show had it on the 25th so it is confusing. I think they will be on New Year's day again this year too. NBC doesn't have college football all day anymore and they were on New Year's last year. This sounds great. They really are cementing Doug and Julie's importance and presence with what happened on Thanksgiving and now this. Sounds great. |

Yeah I don't get them not having this on the 25th. DAYS is preempted New Years Day next year NBC is airing Hockey. |

Oh, really. That sucks. I liked when NBC aired soaps on New Year's last year when no one else did. They have to be preempted on the 25th. They were last year. The original release had to be wrong. |

I love how Doug and Julie are always around during the holidays. Always, always look forward to it. However, I hate it whenever they air holiday episodes after the actual holiday has already occured. So disappointing. |

I know! I used to love it when it was on Christmas Eve and we saw the tree trimming and all. It just added to the holiday for me. I am ok with this as it's not the show's fault. Last year a preemption screwed it up and maybe they are doing some stuff on Christmas Eve that spills over to the day after. All they can do is fit it into Christmas Eve but, they may already have Christmas stuff planned for that day too so who knows. |

Eh, considering how holidays get glossed over altogether all the time on certain other soaps (ahem, ATWT), I don't think it's that big a deal. I'm happy we're getting what we're getting, I really don't care what day it's on. |

According to Jason47's website, DAYS will be seen on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, which is what it normall is. Tim, I don't recall DAYS ever being pre-empted on Christmas Day. They're one of the soaps that is actually on. That's how it's always been. Christmas Eve is usually the day when the Hortons gather for the ornament hanging, and the Bradys go to midnight mass. Then, on Christmas Day, we usually get the reading of the Christmas story at the hospital. Last year was the only year that DAYS was pre-empted on Christmas Day, and that was due to NBC's football special airing. For every other years aside form last year, DAYS has aired on Christmas Day when December 25th fell on a weekday. So the tradition that I spoke of (Christmas Eve-ornaments, Christmas Day-story at the hospital) is in fact true. So I don't know why we're not getting the Christmas episodes on Christmas Eve or Day when both days the show is being aired on. Why December 26th? We haven't had any pre-emptions lately that would cause this. There was the Thanksgiving Day one, but that's the normal pre-emption. DAYS never airs on Thanksgiving Day. |

Your right, Drew. My bad. I was thinking of the years Christmas fell on weekends and got confused  . With all the leap years and all it gets kind of fuzzy. I do remember them not being on Christmas Day in 2000 though because I remember thinking in 2001 how happy I was Days was on Christmas day that year so I know that was one year it wasn't on. I'm pretty sure, at least. I knew last year was a year where they weren't. I still think they will end up preempted this year unless they have something huge coming for Christmas that lasts 3 episodes, which would be weird and intriguing. |
