40 year olds are boring and stupid and that's why in the good old days people would rarely live that long. The gods, they know what they were doing. Plus if they got rid of them they could probably save time and money on makeup, trying to hide all those wrinkles for the HDTV.

And yeah, they could be interesting flawed characters if they didn't try to obliterate flaws to make them frontburner. And if they hadn't, y'know, twisted the entire show to birth the triangle.

Hitler vs. Jezebel vs. Dahmer...see, with that Dahmer would probably go for Hitler, and it would be more interesting for it. There would also likely be more success with the attempted murders. I still say they missed out with no EJ-Lucas angle, especially now that they sort of share children.

My "hubby" describes it this way (remember he just started liking soaps - has thought they were degrading before but GH has changed his opinion - he loves it). But anyway he watched Days with his Mom growing up some and has watched it off and on with me the last year.

He says the EJ/Sami/Lucas triangle is like watching a triangle between Adolf Hitler, Jezebel, and Jeffrey Dahmer. None of them are rootable characters. They have some charisma but there is no way in the world you would ever fuck any of them.

Oh hell no!

Lucas and EJ get cast off as some combination of Hitler and Jeffrey Dahmer while the worst you can call Sami is a Jezebel?

Can't we get an Eileen Wuornos or something in this place? Cause seriously she should not be off the hook so easily.

Btw, PSPCindy... word to your post. These characters and this storyline could have been interesting with much better care by the writers and if they had a better understanding of the characters with greater conviction to telling a story that makes sense, is true to their histories and is consistent.

Thank goodness for James Scott because I can never hate EJ as long as he is playing the role, but the more Sami lies to him for the sake of keeping up this relationship with Lucas, who is lying to her, the more I just root for EJ to make Sami fall in love with him and then reveal he can walk and dump her ass after she's already lost Lucas too so we can have another classic Sami Brady meltdown.

Mary, Gil and I both are religious and raised religious so for him to say Jezebel it is just as bad. To call someone a Jezebel in this region and by us is pretty bad. She is just as bad as Hitler or Dahmer.

I guess it sounds funny for us to say we are religious. We are religious sinners I guess is a better way of saying it.

That is what makes me so mad with this damn fanbase war. One side makes it out that the other side is the bad one when neither guy are prizes and neither is the woman they are fighting over. That is one reason I can't get into the story anymore either. I mean give me a story front and center about someone that I give a fuck about. I mean I wouldn't want any of these three people in my life, but yet I am supposed to watch Days and escape into this story and escape into the fantasy. Sorry I never have wanted to be involved with a murderer or a rapist and all three fit into those categories.

And as thereyougo said these 3 have done nothing but drive Days down all year. And they continue to turn many fans away. If any one of them is as popular as they are supposed to be Days wouldn't have been battling near the bottom of the ratings all year long.

"E.J.'s evil!"

"Yeah, well, Lucas is a MURDERER!"

"Yeah, well, E.J.'s a RAPIST!"

"Yeah, well, Lucas did such and such!"

"Well, that's not nearly as bad as when E.J. did blah, blah, and blah!"

I cannot tell you how utterly tiring it is to read this. It's the same damn argument every time and it NEVER gets anywhere. Perhaps it's time to give it a rest. PLEASE.

Over at DOOL, the future of fan favorite Bryan Dattilo (Lucas) seems to be in question. Reports that the powers that be notified Datillo that they wouldn't be renewing his contract, which expires in early 2008, spread like wildfire across the daytime community. The actor is said to have announced the news in the makeup room, suprising his co-stars. Then he cleared out his dressing room. Digest spoke to Dattilo, who insists he isn't going anywhere. "I never like to say things are or aren't going to happen, especially in this business and the way my life has gone," he shrugs. "It seems like things just happen without my control. I don't know what the future brings, but as far as leaving, it's just a rumor. It isn't true." As for the dressing room, he explains, "I was cleaning out my room and people thought that was odd and maybe that's how it started, but it's just a rumor."

Insiders tell a different story, however. "Bryan is going to be written out for a few months as part of an upcoming story and then will be back,"says one. "His exit is not permanent."

Summary about Kyle Lowder:

They wanted KL back to ignite the Brady/Chloe/Phillip triangle. He was spotted at the DAYS set recently, but won't be making a more permanent comeback anytime soon. CBS wants him in their soap stable.

I hate to see Bryan go yet again. I hope that he is only going to be gone for a few months.

Mason - truer words have never been spoken.

I am one of the only ones who has enjoyed this awful triangle...watching Sami whore herself out to both guys...but it has to stop. It has been a year of this same crap...and hearing the same fucking arguments between fanbases and listening to the most ridiculous reasoning for either guy.
It gets nauseating!

I don't know why she can't pick a guy and everyone move on. No need to fire one or the other. Just move on!

Can we just get someone for Billie? Right now, I would even root for Billie and Lucas!

Wow...so they really wanted Lowder back long-term? Not sure I like that line of thinking. I guess they wanted to make it a Shawn/Belle/Philip/Chloe/Brady story. With the way they are handling Chloe's return and how it looks like Brady cheated on her, I guess they were going to have him return and fight for her or something. Glad it didn't happen although that was pretty stupid by Days. He has a contract and a major role there. I could see if they wanted him for John's funeral and tried to use the Koslow/Mascolo trade but I can't see this.

The BD thing is weird. I mean, his contract is up and I'm not sure what to make of this. Are they hoping with him gone they can push Ejami more effectively? Is this a contract negotiation thing? A way to save money (his contract is up in February and they don't have to pay him after that and we don't know how long he is gone for) or balance things?

This has a Drake feel to it but, like IMA said, they seem to go out of their way to reassure fans and BD does too. I doubt he is gone but maybe Bryan is unhappy with his role or story or maybe he wants a break or whatever. It's all just very weird. Most likely it's story-dictated but with his contract up and all the rumors plus him cleaning out his dressing room (I mean, why do that), you have to wonder. Maybe he thinks the negotiation may not go well. Weird.

The thing I hate about this Lowder news is that it probably means we'll be getting a Brady recast sometime in the not too distant future, which, IMO, is totally unnecessary right now.

It is, Mason.

The only hope for me is that they go and get Travis from IWTBASS. I think he fit the role perfectly. Hopefully, they will at least get a good actor if they go that route but, hopefully, they don't even bother to bring him back at all right now.

FUCK.

So they were going to re-ignite the Brady/Chloe/Phillip triangle? Wasn't I tired of that years ago? Oh, that's right... HELL YES! Why re-hash the same old re-fried bullshit?

Now that Lowder's not coming back, chances are good that the part of Brady will be re-cast and it'll be forced upon me, anyway. After all, I'm sure this is the sole reason that Nadia was brought back in the first place.

Gag, gag, gag.

Kenny, I'm doing my best not to rant about Eileen not even being approached while Lowder and Bjorlin are, but it's taking every bit of restraint in me, LoL.

I know, right?!

Of all B&B stars to try and "steal," they go after fagalicious Lowder? :soapbox:

Oh, and regarding Bryan Dattillo's exit (short term? long term?), Days sure is doing a good job lately of keeping their casting hush-hush! Nobody knew about Drake being fired until virtually right before John was hit by the car. Now Lucas is leaving town, and we're only just now finding about about it right before it happens on screen...

I'm guessing that this is the work of Ed Scott?

I kind of like it, and I kind of don't, LoL. I like to know that a big change is coming up on-screen that way I don't have to sit around bored, assuming that nothing's going to happen, LoL.

Interestingly, though, some "comings and goings" are released well ahead of time... (Nadia, Renee Jones)...

I think Ed decides what to spoil and not spoil and it's about time we get a EP that doesn't think everything needs to be spilled to get people to watch.

It gets people to watch the show and the surprise element is there more, which is needed to keep things interesting.

^ I agree. I hated when practically every little detail was leaked in the spoilers, so you knew exactly how everything thing would play out. Now, you get vague spoilers that sound one way in your head but sometimes end up playing out completely different onscreen, and I like that. It adds a bit of unpredictability to the show.

Can't believe I forgot to comment on Kyle aka Brady Black.
Why, why do we need that character on now? Didn't we need him back in October? Uhm, you would think it is more important for him to be with his stepmom and sister when his FATHER dies, but no, you want him back for a stupid overplayed triangle. GMAFB. :flipoff:
And thank heavens he did not agree to come back. I'm just sayin'
