Lucas is important to the show. I see no benefit in making him a bad guy, though because he is a Horton and has children to protect and raise. He has done an admirable job so far. Maybe Lucas doesn't have an exciting life because the writers have limited imaginations. I could write a great part for him and Sami (smile) that would not make either one a brat. Boohiss writers for not going into something positive for LUMI. That aside, the actor is really agravating with his emotional immaturity but frankly, after 14 years, it would not work to recast Lucas. He is a fairly good actor. Fourteen years seems like a vet to me. Just how long does one have to play on the show to attain vet status? I'd think ten years would be enough. |

I consider a vet to be somebody who's been on the show for at least 20 years. |

Bryan does have a habit of this but, if that is his intention, it is pretty smart. I mean, I can't blame him. The show axed him before and brought him back less then a year later so if he feels he is preventing them for making a mistake or is just trying to save his own ass, all power to him. It's better then doing nothing and it's better to get the fans to do it before it happens then after. Better chance of accomplishing him staying. He is a vet and a Horton. I feel he is very important to the show. That is why I don't see him leaving. I think Corday likes him because he did bring him back pretty quickly after firing him. I just hope they keep improving Bryan's material and direction because lately I am starting to enjoy him again. |

In any job, someone who's held a position for 13-14 years is most definitely a tenured and veteran employee. People were calling Bo and Hope vets back in the 90s when they'd been working there the same amount of time - and this was with a long absense and a recast. What's different? The fact that they were older? Saying someone under 20 years in a role is not a vet is ridiculous. |

Hey, it's just my opinion, and my opinion is not "ridiculous" thank you very much. |

I'm with you Mason. ;) Sorry guys, I just do not see him/BD as a vet. I even had trouble seeing John as a vetern character , but after 20 years he clearly was. |

The way actors and actresses last in the soaps today 5 years is a lot now. And with the trend of decreasing budgets and all if soaps last in the future we will be lucky to get actors to stick around for that long. Now after so long they are either being let go or asked to take pay cuts and many are bolting. It used to be the norm for actors to stick around the soaps for a long time, but it is not that way always these days. I don't see it getting better either. It has been in the past that many actors chose daytime work over stage work because it paid a little more but if budgets keep decreasing that won't be the case anymore. It is going to be sad when daytime can only afford actors who can't even find work at all anywhere else. |
