With TMK killing Georgie, Christmas looks pretty bleak for the citizens of PC. In more domestic drama, the holidays find Jason particularly blue and longing for Elizabeth and the family he can never have on Monday, December 24.

What Will Happen
Jason and Elizabeth can't resist their attraction.

Kate walks away from Sonny's dangerous life.

Robin turns to Patrick in her time of need.

They ask SR if Jerry regrets trying to take advantage of a drunken Leyla.

"No, not at all. Feelings for Alexis aside, he did also have a tryst with Dr. Kelly Lee, so it's obvious he has a fascination with the medical profession [laughs]."

Killer Targets Sam
Sam receives a text message saying "You're next."

GV says that Lucky offers "the suggestion of protection." Sam feels that because of her history with the Sason organization, she could be a target. She's been sent a text and now she's on the TMK's radar.

GV proclaims that no one is safe, that PC is in disarray thanks to the killer.

KeMo jokes that Sam is "not the most loved person in town right now." Despite the danger she's facing, she has a lot of faith in Lucky and that he would do anything to protect her, just because that's who he is. Also, Sam has never been the type to scare easily.

With that in mind, Sam comes up with a plan to use herself as bait to lure the TMK. Lucky puts the kibosh on that idea. According to GV, Sam wants to help because she's not one to sit back and do nothing, she wants to be in the mix. This concerns Lucky as it's the last thing he wants her to do, to put her life on the line. He says that Lucky is doing everything in his power to convince her to let the PCPD do their jobs. "He will protect her with everything he has, but putting herself in danger is not an option. It's already likely that she could be attacked."

Jason investigates Coop and the cops are keeping an eye on Johnny, but a new suspect turns up at the end of the week. New evidence in Georgie's murder points the finger at Spinelli. GV says "Hey, it's always the quiet guy you should be worried about [laughs]. But at this point, I think just about everybody is a suspect."

Kate Leaves Sonny
At Metrocourt, Kate makes her way to Sonny and Trevor's table and Sonny narrowly avoids a sniper's bullet as she walks towards them. According to Megan Ward, Kate is almost shot and part of the drama is that you don't know who the bullet was intended for. The only thing Kate knows is that she almost died and that changes everything for her once that happens.

Despite the fact that Kate has said she accepts the danger in Sonny's world, she now questions the decision to stay with him. MW says that Kate is naive. MW thinks Kate tolerates the danger because she secretly hopes to help Sonny find a way out of the choices he's made in life. But when she's confronted with that kind of violence, she can't ignore the warnings signs, it's real now.

Diane tries to comfort her and according to MW creates "an opportunity for Kate to protect herself from Sonny's world, which has significant consequences down the road. So, Diane is trying to do the right thing by Kate, but may inadvertently end up making the situation even worse."

By the end of week Kate leaves town. MW says the holidays may not be the happiest time for Skate "but there's always New Years."

Shocking Cast Changes!
Basically it's all Laura Wright talking for almost an entire page.

They recap the casting history of Carly and note yet again she will be coming back to play a different role.

LW says that SBr is her definitive Carly and "I have to tell you I'm a little intimidated."

She says her biggest fear is that SBr won't like what she's doing with the character. She hopes she hasn't disappointed her. "I can see it now - the first scene I shoot with her I'm going to be like, 'Oh, my God. Is that okay?' What'd you think [laughs]?' She originated this groundbreaking character. She's got to be a little bit like, 'Don't do that [laughs]!"

SOD says the news took the soap world by storm and GH confirmed it shortly thereafter. Speculation is her character is named Angela Zacchara, sister to Johnny and who may have a past with Ric.

The news wasn't a shock to LW, though. She says the producers actually called her quite a few months ago when the idea first surfaced, to let her know they loved her and her job was safe and they were bringing SBr back as someone else, a whole other character. She says she wasn't even sure it was still happening because she hadn't heard anything since.

LW asserts that she's looking forward to working with SBr. "She freakin rocks." LW says she knows a lot of people that worked with SBr at ATWT and they all have nothing but rave reviews for her. "Playing against someone that strong as an actress? God help me rise to the occasion."

Casting About/Grapevine
SOD asks Rick Springfield when he may resurface. He says he doesn't know. That it's up to all of their schedules as to if they write anything and if he's in town. He notes that's how it was left and there aren't any contracts and that's how he likes it. "If there's interest, they'll write something. If there's not, there are other things to do."

Coming
Sarah Brown: Returns to PC in 2008 as a brand new character.
Scott Clifton: Dillon comes home to say good-bye to his first love, Georgie on December 20.

Staying
Laura Wright: A spokesperson confirms that SBr's return won't affect LW's position as Carly. "I think I'm in her old dressing room," muses Wright. "I think every Carly has had this room. It's kind of funny!"

Star Style
Someone requested a picture of Lulu's long hair when it's wavy.

Er...

But there is a Before and After shot of Steve Burton with his hair. At the PA where he revealed his new hair SBu joked he cut his hair in between shows and Bradford Anderson quipped "We trim it every hour, on the hour."

Editor's Choice: The Worst Thanksgiving Ever
The column notes that T-day is the holiday for celebrating and giving thanks for all the good things we have in life, but how does one do that when a beloved family member has just been brutally murdered?

They give GH props for crafting vignettes that showcased blessings of family and friends even in tragic times.

They note the Q dinner with Ned and Dillon present and Monica having a good cry with Bobbie. Edward compared the Q's to the Kennedy's and rather than wallow in bitterness he took a cue from Emily and donated an extravagant dinner to the "angels of mercy at G.H. who sacrificed their holiday to help others."

At Wyndemere Nik couldn't be consoled despite Lesley pleading with him to live for his son.

"Throughout PC, beams of light broke through the dark clouds." They note how the normally impetuous and impulsive Carly stopped to cherish the day by not informing her sons of the tragedy. They enjoyed the light tone as they tried to keep Carly away from the stove.

At Logan's apartment Scott reached out to him and he was selfless enough to step aside to give Logan the chance to reconnect with Lulu.

At the Scorpio-Jones residence, Maxie and Georgie discussed AWOL Felicia which raised the same questions that nag at viewers, whether Felicia is really taking care of her sick grandmother. Maxie learned a lesson in faith when she and Coop got back together and Georgie was gleeful as she bantered with her crush Spinelli.

They give GH kudos for "reminding us that when we can't be with the ones we love, we can still love the ones we're with - and that's a great reason to give thanks."

It's Only My Opinion
CH notes the greats were celebrating Thanksgiving. The Scorpios were gathered together and Bobbie stopped by the Jacks home. Lulu and Logan had a "laughy feed-a-thon" though she wishes Scotty had stayed. Skye brought Lila Rae to cheer up the Q's after Emily's death. And Tracy climbed into bed in a touching scene with Luke.

But she has a problem with the fallout from Emily's death. She says Monica viciously turned on Jason when he came to tell her of Emily's death and that her anger was so misplaced. She questions "wouldn't a real person's first response that her 20-something daughter had died be disbelief, then horror? Anger would come much later, like after the funeral."

She says some of the mourning vets at Emily's funeral looked like wax figures and pleads "ladies, leave your faces alone!"

Roundup
What is your best holiday memory?

Leslie Charleson tells a rather long story about riding in the Macy's Day parade on a float for the Medieval Times and compared it to Camelot coming to life.

Greg Vaughan says one Christmas his entire family rented a three story condo in Colorado to go skiing and all the kids camped out downstairs in sleeping bags.

Josh Duhon says it was a Christmas when his dad got him a dog and wrapped him in a box. The dog was in the box for hours and was so happy when he got out of the box that it loved him to death and love him forever, just because he let him out of the box.

Gossip
Organ Donor.

Story about Jason Thompson posing nude for the t-shirt that raised money for New York University's melanoma research. He claims to have had no qualms doing it. That his good friend, photographer Brian Bowen Smith shot the campaign and he's big fans of Marc Jacobs and his business partner Robert Duffy. When they asked him to do it, he jumped at the chance. He says there's always hesitation posing nude but he's really proud of it and stands by it and will do anything to help that fund.

Greg Vaughan told him he was pretty ballsy and Kimberly McCullough was going to wear one of the t-shirts to SSW but thought she might get in trouble. KMc chimes in "I think he looks really hot in it!"

Write From the Heart: Jason Thompson
Hello all,

My 2007 started off at Halo in Edmonton, Canada, one of the two bars that I co-own with my pals Blair and Sal. Since the year we opened, we've been having New Year's parties, so I couldn't imagine being anywhere else.

In the spring, we started taping GH: Night Shift. I'm not going to lie, I was very nervous. It was the first time they've done a nighttime spin-off in all of soap history, so I was grateful and honored to be a part of it. Billy Dee Williams and I went to New York to do The View and sharing those little moments really stayed with me. The man is truly a movie star.

Every year, Blair, Sal and I take a "research" trip, so this summer, we went to Rome, Barcelona and Prague... In September, I got my dog. Vedder is a Great Dane puppy. He's getting very big. He's 6 months old and about 110 pounds. In November, I was named Sexiest Soap Star by People. That was quite shocking. Now at work, Greg and Bradford will walk into the makeup room and be like, "Do you know you're doing one of the Sexiest Guys Alive's makeup?" I'm waiting for Maurice to give me a left hook to really show me who's sexy!

My parents bough Ingo's car. Josh Duhon bought one of his motorcycles, so if you want a vehicle, just go to Ingo's garage and pick what you want! Sal flew down and we drove it home over Thanksgiving. We drove through San Francisco, Napa Valley, Portland, OR up through Montana and into Calgary. Since nothing was open, we had Thanksgiving dinner at Burger King, but it was fun. I love road trips and cruising through the mountains.

There's so much more to add: Team Scrubs raised nearly $55,000 for the AIDS Walk. I posed [nude] for a T-shirt to raise money for NYU Melanoma Fund. And, I'll be home for Christmas and I plan on celebrating New Year's at the bar again.

Wishing you much joy in the new year. Hopefully, your world won't be filled with as much drama as we portray! Happy Holidays!

The photo caption from a picture of him laying in bed with the Stanley Cup says "I've been watching hockey since they day I was born and although it was a very tough year for my Edmonton Oilers, what a great opportunity to touch the Stanley Cup!"

Sound Off
Long letter raving about GH's Thanksgiving episode and wondering why GH's can be like that more often, instead of filled with mobsters and violence and angst and lies and fighting, etc.

Mail Bag
A writer notes JR on AMC, Rex on OLTL and Jason on GH all have one thing in common "Those gorgeous flowing locks! These cuties know how to make long hair look sexy. I hope this is a look that sticks around for a while."
