FOX Can Handle More 'Truth'
Network orders 13 episodes of the unscripted series
FOX is prepared to take advantage of the millions of Americans whose dark secret is that they can't stop watching "Moment of Truth."
The network announced on Friday (Feb. 1) that it has ordered an additional 13 episodes of the unscripted drama in which regular people face a polygraph with the truth standing as the only thing keeping them from large prizes.
The 13-episode pick-up (on top of an original 12-episode order) isn't really a surprise given that "Moment of Truth" currently stands as the season's No. 1 new program in total viewers, adults 18-49, adults 18-34 and teens.
The show's premiere last Wednesday was the season's highest rated among adults 18-49 and in total viewers for any network, retaining 94 percent of its 18-49 lead-in from "American Idol." The latter figure was down to 77 percent demo retention in the show's second airing this week, but FOX can hardly be unhappy about 17.6 million viewers and a 7.8 rating in the 18-49 demo.
"Moment of Truth" will continue to air on Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET until March 5, when it moves into its previously scheduled 8 p.m. Wednesday time slot.
