Any remaining fans of Dog the Bounty Hunter can rejoice. Duane "Dog" Chapman has been officially forgiven by A&E for the racist rant that was recorded by one of his sons, and as such the cabler soon will start producing new episodes of the reality show in Hawaii. Some previously unaired episodes are ready to go as well.

Dog, who recently won his case not to be extradited to Mexico on illegal bounty-hunting charges, has repeatedly apologized for his slurs and worked to make amends. It is his effort that A&E excecs pinpoint as the reason for bringing the show back.

"Duane 'Dog' Chapman has taken and continues to take the appropriate steps in reaching out to several African American organizations in an effort to make amends," the network says in a statement. "Since the premise of Dog the Bounty Hunter is about second chances, we have decided to give him one."

Which is no huge surprise — Dog is one of A&E's highest-rated series. The show is making plans to go back into production but no airdate has been determined.
