Background: Steve found out that Jack was his long lost brother Billy, and Jack was close to dying from Hodgskins disease. Jack loved Kayla and believed that marrying her would give him the will to live. Steve pushed Kayla away and she married Jack to help him get better. Eventually, Kayla found out the truth that Jack was Billy. Her and Steve wanted to get back together but thought they would wait until Jack won his Assemblymen election so he would have something else to look forward to. This is just a few days after the rape occurred. Jack had Steve beaten up and Kayla asked Steve to take her away from Salem for awhile. These scenes were part of Stephen's Emmy reel the year he was nominated. |
