After reading the Van Hansis post about the rumour he's gay, I got to thinking. Has there ever been an openly gay actor/actress on soaps? I mean we all know about Ian Buchannon, Susan Flannery, Tony Geary, Kevin Spirtas, and James Mitchell but it's not publically known and never ever talked about. Thom Bierdz it out, but was he open during his time on Y&R? Do you guys think it's because soaps target audience are women and it would crush their fantasy if they knew their favorite hunk prefers the penis? |

Oh yeah, He basically outed himself last year at the Emmys. Forgot about that. Also someone like James Mitchell. I mean he's 88 years old and he was so excited during the Kevin Sheffield story. I remember reading an interview with him in SOM and he said it was a very important story to tell and he was honored the be part of it. I also read that he's been with the same man when spotted having dinner or at the theatre and they have been in a relationship for nearly 50 years. |

There are rumors that Beth Ann Bonner from OLTL is a Lesbian. She and Bree supposely got hot-n-heavy to. |

I'm a straight woman and if James Scott were to wake up tomorrow and say that he was gay, it wouldn't crush my fantasy. I'd still think he would be one hot mutha......but I know what you mean Rick. I think that's one of the reasons why some of the actors from the Golden Age of Hollywood never "came out"; ie: Rock Hudson and Montgomery Clift. |

I forgot about Tuc Watkins. There is a rumor that one of the reasons why he left OLTL was because he wanted to be with his boyfriend who lives in LA. |

Good God!!!! I can think of dozens of soap actors who were totally gay back in the day!!!! All those pictures of soap stars at the NYC bathhouses....err, "health clubs" that use to make it into the soap magazines was mind boggling!!! George Reinholt, Dennis Cooney, and David O'Brien were frequently whispered about!!!! Joel Crothers and Micheal Lipton also had quite a few rumors about her sex lives make it onto the gossip roundtables!!!! If memory serves me, Paul Denis who was the editor of DAYTIME TV magazine, readily admitted that a NBC soap actor used to conduct all his interviews in the gay bars of NYC and that this actor had an unwritten agreement that his private life was not to be written about in the soap press. |

Let's not forget all those rumors about GH's Kin Shriner and Billy Warlock being more than good friends. Other gay rumors I've heard over the years involve GL's John Wesley Shipp and Doug Marland. Another rumor I heard involves Grant Aleksander being bisexual and "hung like a horse". Talk about Christian LeBlanc outing himself at the Emmys, what about the time Micheal E. Knight said how much loved Josh Duhamel and almost forget to thank his wife Catherine Hickland during his Emmy acceptance a few years back!!!! OMG, that little slip up of MEK's raised more than a few eybrows!!! The list just goes on and on.....!!!! |

im not sure if i should tell its always been an interesting tidbit because i didnt have any idea it happened earlier this year as well so it was recent lol he was walkin out and i was walkin in and we locked eyes and i was like omg !lmao |
