I just read Prevuze for Monday and Sami/EJ have another talk where Sami reveals how she forced herself on Austin and expected he would love her afterwards just like EJ expected she would love him after what happened. She then says it wouldn't be fair not to forgive him since Austin eventually forgave her.

I can't believe they threw that out there. I find that more impressive then the talk yesterday because they never really came out and said Sami forced herself on Austin on the show.

Oh, wow! I'm REALLY impressed with whoever wrote that episode! I didn't think they'd ever go there, at this point.

Since they wrote this episode with EJ's explination and then Monday's with Sami's confession... it tells me that SOMEONE might be listening to the fans :o

That was a smart move. It's scenes like this that make the horrible storylines that we're watching tolerable. And that's why I believe many felt Hogan was a success, day to day. While his storylines may not have been favorites to fans, the dialogue made the storylines make sense and it made everything tolerable.

I haven't seen the entire episode yet, but I thought the Sami-EJ scene that I did see was ok, not completely accurate, but better than I expected. I do believe that EJ is as sorry as he can be, but still doesn't fully realize how the whole incident and his treatment of her for several months afterward impacted Sami. Also, there was the fact that Sami called Lucas her husband when at that time he was not. So, for me, a few picky things, but overall from what I have seen so far, they are handling it better than I thought they would. I still am not an EJami fan and probably never will be, but it is better now. I also don't believe EJ is completely changed.

I caught that line where Sami referred to Lucas as her husband, even though they weren't married yet. I hate mistakes like that because although it's not all that important, I'm detail oriented and it takes me out of the scene. The writers should be more careful with things like that. It also happened a couple weeks ago with the Roberts/Horton mix-up with Lucas's last name.

Regarding the Sami/EJ conversation, I'm glad they addressed the way he treated her afterwards. He was very cruel and it seemed out of character even at the time because he and Sami had always had a bond of at least friendship since they first met. That's why I was never sold on the violence some say was at least implied in that infamous scene. I never believed that EJ would physically hurt Sami. Emotionally, yes, he was cruel and his explanation of his embarrassment and regret rang true for me because I know of men who handle situations that way. I also found it interesting and surprising how Sami assured EJ he didn't hurt her physically because she was there and knew what happened; this implies to me that she was not forced and participated willingly--even though in her heart she didn't want to. I know some will say history has been rewritten, but I'm okay with this interpretation because we never actually saw anything happen at the time, except for Sami crying (which she did a lot of for that entire year). I'm really hoping this will serve as the final conclusion of that horribly written, horribly executed event and the characters and viewers can move on.

I'm glad to see EJ still has a scheming side; I like that about him. It keeps him interesting, and I like characters portrayed in shades of gray. I love that Sami is becoming herself again, too--Sami Brady should never, ever again become the vanilla character we've had for the past year.

I'm about 2 weeks behind. I'm using today to finally catch up. But I just had a question for anyone who can answer. Have they shown Mickey since he hired EJ? I haven't heard anything about him from what I've seen on the boards.

^We haven't seen much of Mickey and that is a shame. I thought he would be be used more, but maybe soon. I think he will be in Monday's episode with Lucas.

OMG I have seen the MON EJAMI scene .... and the conversation about Austin. It really does fit, it works and this scene is amazing ... so so amazing. It is not over the top sensual or romantic. It is just the right amount of right .... So gentle and soft - the pacing is perfect .... the acting, direction is subtle and poignant .... GREAT SCENE. Beautiful Scene.

I know not everyone is for the EJAMI pairing and that's ok .... there are characters and couples I don't care for either. But there are just some scenes that this show does that is just so dang good that they should get applauded and credit should be given when it is due...I think this is one of those scenes ...

I think they are - I think with Dena we will see romance and we will see more relationship type storylines and not those over the top out of this world type s/l. and I think the people of Salem with actually get jobs! I think the people of Salem will struggle with real life type issues.

Today's US and today's Canadian were just wonderful shows, as far as the EJ and Sami parts go. For such a divisive and explosive subject, I felt it was handled with sensitivity and care. I cannot imagine how herculean this task was after the butcher job HS did on the character of EJ for the better part of a year.

The characters feelings and motivations were explained in two parts and it was very powerful. EJ never denied what he did was wrong and he said over and over that he could never make up for it, but he has tried, in many ways, to show Sami that he regrets what he did.

Sami acceptance of what happened and the aftermath, from EJ's perspective, seemed easy in today's US show. But on Monday viewers see that EJ thinks so too and that is how Sami comes to explain that she identified with EJ because she had "forced" herself on Austin. Austin went on to forgive her and even love her in his own way. Forgiveness is a powerful and liberating thing.

It was a beautifully done chapter in the EJ/Sami story. I think everyone involved worked very hard to get this right. I know the actors met with the writers and producers to hash it out. It shows.

On a side note, I really like Sami so much more when she is with EJ and she is being herself and not putting up barriers. She seems more grown up and less juvenile. I do like her impetuosity. Her recklessness can also be very entertaining.

For me, this week and beginning next week, DOOL really delivered sweeps worthy shows.

Thanks! I find it ridiculous that they cast Mickey and put him on the back burner immediately. Hopefully they do show him with Lucas and give him and Maggie some story.

Phoenix, thank you so much for sharing that. I had no clue that was coming. I am so impressed. This was an incident that was vitually ignored in terms of what it was. I can not wait for Sami to confess to Ej what she did...Good on DAYS.

Except for the end with Kayla and the baby drama, today's show went right back to snoozeville for me, after yesterday's good show.

On Wednesdays show Philip said he didn't know that Victor was gonna build an opera house in Salem and that Chloe would sing at it. That's not true, Philip knew. As a matter of fact, the episode that aired here on Wednesday, Philip (played by KB) got in to a fight with Brady when they were talking about it. Rewrites like that irritate me.
