I for one have been enjoying EVERYTHING about Days. There's action, drama, suspense, angst, comedy and most importantly we have "love in the afternoon" back and IN FULL EFFECT. I'll admit to something right here and now....even Stax is growing on me (there I said it) and I'm looking forward to EJ/Sami/Lucas....it's not so much a triangle this time around more like a third wheel, with EJ and Sami being the pair and Lucas the odd one out, as we will soon see. Honestly, I don't understand what all the "boo-hiss" is about. There are great s/ls happening and in development. Besides all the action this week, we have Roscoe Born to look forward to next week, the interactions between Tamara/James and Tamara/Dee. Sounds to me like they are establishing Ava within Salem; which is a good thing for Days. For those of you who are not impressed with how Chelsea is be written, I think you are not seeing the bigger picture here. I don't see Chelsea as a stalker....Daniel is reciprocating her feelings, he's afraid to express them and she's helping him out with that. I think Chelsea has matured immensely since she first came onto the scene. The recent hospital bed scene with Hope is particularly noteworthy IMO. All in all it may not be the #1 soap out there but it's improved damn it. Thanks for bringing back the magic, Dena. :tink: |

It's simple. Everyone has different tastes. Some people were loving the show last year while others were hating it. This year, it's just the other way around. And it doesn't really matter when the storylines are moving, if you're not interested in any of them to begin with.
IMO, Daniel reciprocating Chelsea's feelings doesn't make her any less of a stalker, right now. If someone that I was attracted to kept following me into showers, it would still be stalking, whether I wanted it or not. |

If you're enjoying the show, then that's great. I'm happy you are. But not everybody's going to. That's just the way that it is. Like I said, not everyone has the same tastes. |

This I agree with completely. What I loved about Chelsea's character during the Ford storyline was she was completely ready to target Ford because the idea that this jerk was getting away with rape and hurting friends of hers was too much for her to take, and it was overriding her newly installed sense of decency. She and Nick breaking into Ford's dorm room was a lot of fun and when Nick was with her, he kept her from going too far (such as basically stealing his stuff or walking out of the closet while Ford was there). Later, when Chelsea came up with the plan to drug Ford...yes that was too far but, as a Chick fan, I felt it was perfectly within character for her to since their stakeout failed in securing an arrest and she was taking matters in her own hands. Nick being absent meant Chelsea would go through with the doomed plan anyway, as he normally played her moral compass and would keep her from making OTT mistakes. Now without Nick, it seems Chelsea just does whatever the hell she wants. She will chase after Daniel, even though the whole reason she went looking for Daniel was because Stephanie wanted his help and presumably her friend was waiting to hear news if he would or not. Nope, that takes a backseat to Chelsea again listing the reasons she and Daniel should get together (if you haven't heard, they are in love). And I didn't see the Chick breakup as Chelsea showing maturity by letting a great guy go because her feelings changed. I saw it as Chelsea giving up on Nick (who wasn't her time anymore) because she was too obsessed with a man she hardly knows yet she kept Nick around because until she knew for sure Daniel was interested back. (if you haven't heard, Daniel's hot and Nick isn't). And then to break up with Nick without giving the guy all the credit for everything he's freaking done for her is also a slap in the face of us who watched as Chelsea change in the past 18 months. Where would the pancreas storyline have gone if it had happened before Nick came to town? Why...Chelsea would have used the whole thing to try to get her Dad to hook up with Billie. |

I floved today's episode - the whole thing....even the Lucas parts, mostly because it's such a classic setup to the reveal that Sami has moved on from their relationship. EJ and Sami's continuation of their talk was great and the use of history was excellent. Their chemistry is a big draw for me, and today's scenes was a great reminder of that. I'm really looking forward to tomorrow's scenes as well.... I don't mind Chelsea and Daniel, if for no other reason than the fact that I'm enjoying their chemistry. I don't see this being long term, but for now, I'm interested. I felt horribly for Kayla and Steve. MBE broke my heart on Friday, and this week seems to be a continuation. Plus, for once, there's love in the afternoon on DAYS - it's been so long, I had almost forgotten what it looked like. Overall, I'm very pleased with what Dena Higley's doing for DAYS. I hope she keeps it up... |

Delicious! I agree. Although, you're talking about EJAMI with the love in the afternoon, I'm more referring to J/M and Dansea. Which is even better because for once we don't have just one couple being all hot and romantic! |

Exactly - for once there's a little something called balance to the show....it's not perfect, but when is it ever? At least there's multiple storylines going on at once...a little something for (mostly) everyone. That's a good thing in my book. |

Great point!!! There is actually more than one couple to root for!!! So if your not liking one, hopefully one of the others will "tickle your fancy". I know it's no secret but EJAMI sure is "tickling my fancy" this week in a BIG way!!! :makeout: But I also liked the Steve/Kayla scenes and Chelsea/Dan scenes....I'm really trying on the Stax, but I'm just not there yet. I also like how they are using more characters, not just a few. I think this is by far the best sweeps DAYS has had in a long time!! Rock on DAYS!!! |

I liked most of today's show. I even attempted to watch the Chelsea/Daniel scenes but since it was mostly the same conversation they've been having over and over again, I ended up ffing most of it. As a mother, I found it very annoying that everyone kept trying to distract Kayla. She's a mother who just gave birth to a premature baby, she hasn't been able to touch or hold him, didn't even get to look at him before he was taken away, and she hasn't heard any encouraging news....of course, she's going to be upset and sad and worried. Coming up with goofy baby names is NOT going to be helpful. The only thing that will give Kayla peace is to hear some good news about the baby so until then, slip something into her IV to help her rest and leave her alone! MBE is doing a great job with these scenes, and I can even tolerate Stephanie as long as Max is not around. Once again, we have a story creating awkwardness because Kayla is not only his girlfriend's mother, but she is also his sister. Just another reason to say "no" to incest storylines. I never thought I'd hear Sami discussing the Austin situation like she did today. That's been swept under the rug for years, like the Belle kidnapping, which was also mentioned recently. I have to give Dena credit for addressing all the Sami and EJ misdeeds and getting things out in the open finally; now the story should be able to progress. Their conversation served as a reminder that EJ and Sami have both done bad things and at heart, they are selfish, manipulative people. They aren't noble, they aren't heroes, they aren't role models--but they are fun and interesting to watch! That's why I love them! Not being a Lucas fan, I'm not at all excited to see him back on my TV again. Hopefully, he will be an improved version, or at least have a better storyline. I'm liking about half of the show now so I guess that's not too bad, as long as there's balance and the characters I don't like don't take over the show. |

Good show today, I've been loving Ejami this past week and todays scenes were very nice..Loved Sami confessing that she forced herself on Austin...I really wish Hogan had never written the rape in the first place, but its nice that Dena is finally addressing it and finally resolving it...I'm really looking forward to their love making and the timing with Lucas getting released is so soapy..I love it... It was such a treat seeing Mickey and Maggie today..Kevin Dobson was much better today, and i have no doubts he do a fine job as Mickey...He and Suzanne look great together...Lucas and Maggie have such a nice relationship, so it was nice seeing them share scenes today.. Kayla, Steve, and Stephanie--nice scenes..I feel so bad for Kayla..But i'm happy that MBE is getting powerful material.. Daniel and Chelsea-- so glad they are finally having Shawn Christian shirtless..That body is too sexy to keep covered...The scenes today were better than the steam room scenes...Maybe its because Chelsea looks a little older with her new hairstyle..While i'm not a fan of this coupling, i do like the fact that they are addressing the age issue.. |

OK a few things... again as I said yesterday (or the other day -- I can't remember) I am coming back into this show from a few months off so I don't totally get everything but a few thoughts... -I love Chelsea's new haircut. And something else I realized today... I love Chelsea and I love Rachel Melvin even when I hate how the character is being written and even when I hate the storyline she is in. And you know why I came to that realization? Because I hate how the character is being written and the storyline she is in. And this has been pretty much constant since the Angry Angel storyline arc pre-Dr. Rebert. Damn. Anyway, I don't get the appeal of Daniel at all. I guess he's well-built, but he does about as much for me as Roman. And even in that case I doubt he'd have as much chemistry with LK and LH that JT does. Maybe he looks too much to me like the evil sensei in Karate Kid for me to be into him? I dunno. -The Johnson Family rocks my socks. While Friday's MBE crying was a lil o'er the top for me, they hit all the right notes today and gosh I love Stephanie. -I don't understand the grant crap AT ALL. I left this show with the stupid and convoluted Ford Decker story unresolved and I'm annoyed to come back into it with this as all the college kiddos have going for them. -Shockingly, I got excited when Maggie got excited when Lucas was being released because it was so fun seeing Maggie that happy. I also don't mind the new Mickey at all and I thought I would have huge issues with him. As for Lucas himself, I didn't feel a bit of annoyance or rage seeing him on the screen so I have to say his hiatus did wonders for this previously rabid anti-Lucas viewer. That said, I fully reserve the right to freak out when Lucas catches Sami doing the deed and yells at her about how hard prison was for him and I'll be sitting on my couch screaming... well at least you didn't spend it on death row for a murder someone else committed like Sami did in the Franco killing... but I digress ;) |

I agree. She's not really dropping things when she starts them. I like that and like that she is playing all the beats. I am liking the show in sweeps too. We had a big sweeps event in February and I don't want one every month. I would rather have one a year and have the other sweeps months focus on big story developments. I do like how the month started with J&M and Chelsea/Daniel, then we got the end of the Martino/Ava thing, and now we are getting Steve/Kayla and Lucas/Sami/EJ and next week seems to push Nick/Max. Good balance and focusing on each story, which is a good sweeps recipe. I'm not really loving the show but I'm liking it well enough and it's easily up there with the best soaps right now. OLTL has it beat right now but it's the only show really doing much of anything right now. Days is at least trying to give many fans what they want and is mixing things up, using classic Days-type stories, etc. Sure, it's fanbase catering, which I hate, but you can't please everyone, as Mason said, so you have to just pick a direction you feel is best and go with it. I think that is what Higley/Corday are doing and I hope they just stick to it. This show has had enough direction changes. Just stay the course. The show has more cohesion now and it's refreshing. Plus, there is a great deal of passion and romance. It may not be from the couples some may like but the fact that it's made a comeback on Days after being practically nonexistent for most of last year is a plus IMO. |

I thought todays show was great! I really like Rachel Melvin's new 'do, but what the hell was that ruffle thing they had her wear? I actually am into the Chelsea/Daniel pairing, but the dialogue for them is beyond ridiculous. Daniel is suppose to be this genuis, top notch doctor yet he is being talked down to by Chelsea. Give me a break! And of course they end up making out after a mini argument yet again. This SL needs to get going in a new way quick. I really like Dr. Carrington, it would be nice to have another black guy in town besides ole, honest Abe. Sami/EJ: I have to admit I on the so called Ejami train and can't wait for tomorrow eppy. Ali always gets into her love scenes. Even though the dialogue was bad for Chelsea/Daniel I really thought EJ/Sami's talk was perfect. Ali and James sold those scenes, and I am ready to watch Ejami get down and dirty. SN to me is the best male crier in daytime, he just does those type of scenes with ease. When he cried in Stephanie's arms I felt his pain. MBE has also done superb, I just hope this SL continues to be realistic and they actually pick a name better than lame ass Pocket. I watched OLTL and DAYS today and both delivered. OLTL had too good of a cliffhanger, not to watch tomorrow so for now I am gonna keep wathcing OLTL as well as DAYS, IMO the 2 best soaps currently. |
