That fits in with Nicole's character though. She's always been the very high-maintenance, fashionable type. But, they definitely need to reallocate their budget and get Marlena into a new blouse lol. |

I was pleasantly surprised by the Marlena/Ava scenes today, I enjoyed them, they actually started at one place and progressed as they listened to each other. I also thought the scenes in the jail between John and Marlena were very good. I didn't understand the need though for Marlena to have so much faith in Philip and Victor, I guess it was needed for plot, but not needed if you ask me. Anyway, I loved John & Marlena's connection at the end I'll take the moments and enjoy them. |

I swear I have never enjoyed EJAMICUS as much as the past three weeks. My Lawd! What has happened? It's like they got a B-12 shot right in the arm. "We've all done things that people will never forgive us for, Lucas. We are extremely flawed human beings. ALL THREE OF US!!!" I know it's not much, but for SAMI'S DIALOGUE...That shit is Oscar-Worthy! She never says anything thoughtful like that. Not to mention, it's getting to the heart of this storyline which is that these three...there's no good guy...there's no right answer. And it's delicious! Also, John karate chopping Roman in the face was beyond great. There are no words. I love Jawn. |

I don't know what DAYS was trying to get across, but the little conversation actually rang true to the character of Jo. There were serveral times way way back once upon a time, when Jo Johnson talked about watching her soaps. I recall scenes with both Jack and Steve where Jo went on about having to watch her soaps. So for me the mention brougth a smile to my face as I remembered, oh yeah, Jo loved her soaps. |

I enjoyed today's show. It wasn't boring or incredibly bad like most of the episodes have been lately. The Marelna/Ava scenes were well done. I think that Deidre Hall and Tamara Braun worked very well off each other. It was great. Lately, I have been hating Marlena, but that's only because she's been around John, Sami, EJ and Lucas. And the four of them have been annoying the hell out of me lately, so I think I take that out on Marlena when she's on. It also doesn't help that Marlena doesn't accept nor trust John, praises Sami sleeping with EJ when she really loves Lucas, and then defending EJ to Lucas. What the hell are they doing to her? Thankfully, scenes like today, with Marlena on her own, in her profession make me see her as an individual again. Thank God! More scenes like this please. I'm still pissed that we didn't get to see Tony and Anna's wedding. It's a total slap in the face to their fans, I think. Give Tanna fans the worse storyline possible to have to deal with when you finally give them a storyline after months of them being nothing but props to the vendetta storyline. And then, once you finally put them back together and they become engaged, giving their fans something to look forward to, we have to hear from freaking Morgan that they married already and are on their honeymoon(!). That's bullshit. Anyhoo, I can't say that I'm surprised. Pissed, but not surprised. Moving on, shall we? I liked the scenes at Chez Rouge with the three couples (Bope, Kaman and Tanna). I will give Dena Higley some credit. She does make things more realistic, like these little dinners between friends. It's nice to see those every once in a while. Unforunately, the last time she wrote, we got these all the time and it became a boring drab. That hasn't happened yet, but give it time. Back to the scenes though. I know a lot of people are worried that Roman and Kate possibly getting back together again is goin to ruin Kate, it hasn't so far. She is still the Kate we love to hate. I love her rivalry with Anna. It's very interesting and it makes common sense to have these two hate each other. They're so much alike. Also, I loved when Kate realized that she's going to leave her kids alone. That was another thing Higley did right the last time around. She gave Kate her own life. Albiet she lost her spunk, she left her kids alone. Plus! We'll just skip over Max and Stephanie until they're no longer committing incestuous crimes. |

Ok, guys. I'm back. Did you miss me? :P Anyway, it was a nice vacation and I just watched a week's worth of Days (have not watched today's yet). I am going to try to keep my comments for the past week brief. Keep in mind this is for last Wednesday through yesterday's episode. Lucas/Sami/EJ/Nicole: I was very impressed by the Lumi scenes. I appalud Days for mentioning the character's histories and driving the point home that Lucas, Sami, and EJ are all flawed characters. I really enjoyed the scenes this past week. My only issue is that we should have an EJ/Sami alone scene to address everything that has happened so far. Other then that, I'm ok with this story so far. I also really enjoy EJ and Nicole. They were HOT yesterday and I really like them scheming together. Loved Nicole/Ava too. Their friend scenes were hilarious. Hope it continues. Ava's redemption has been good IMO. Steve/Kayla: I am really liking the Baby Johnson story. Loved the name Joe and I think Shelly, Mary Beth, and Stephen have all been great. MBE crying always has me tearing up. I like the realistic feel of the scenes and I did enjoy the Kayla/Ava scenes last week. The Steve/Kayla nursery scenes were cute yesterday but, as others mentioned, there is a big issue here and that is the Steve/Ava thing. The show can still salvage it but it has to be addressed. SN and MBE were playing the distance but now it's nonexistent. Higley really needs to give us something with that because it's a major hindrance and is taking away from this story. John/Marlena: I'm enjoying them. I know I'm in the minority but I have no problem with how Marlena is acting toward John. She should be out of character. She should be confused. Her husband died and came back a completely different person. I think she wants to accept him and make an effort but her heart won't let her because everytime she does something else happens to put more distance there and to make her feel like there is nothing to this John that she can love. I think she only agreed to accept him after her first trip away in April because he was going to try to let her change him. I think she soon realized that was nothing and that he is who he is and he will have to change on his own, meaning he will have to initiate it moreso then her. My only problem with Marlena is that what others said is true...she's become entirely about John again. However, I can't blame Higley for that. That would've happened regardless of who was writing. No matter what happens she will always revert to that. It's happened since JER's first run. Just look at that run. J&M were apart most of JER's run and she was feisty, formidable, etc. The minute they reunite she becomes Jello. I think that is because a big part of J&M is that he comes to her rescue all the time. It's not like Bo and Hope where she saves his ass sometimes. I can't even count on one hand the amount of times Marlena has saved John from something. That is the problem IMO). However, happy they are getting more material and I did enjoy the Roman/John banter last week (the comments about the Marlena picture were hilarious) along with John's one liners. Also, I have no problem with her flip flopping between Lucas and EJ because obviously her recent hostility toward EJ is because he slept with Sami. As for Lucas, she was only upset with him because of how he talked to Sami. I have no problem with how she has acted toward them. Tony/Anna: WHAT THE FUCK?! Let me get this straight. Tony proposes last Wednesday and we HEAR that they were married and then they show up from their honeymoon today. Alright, even a positive person like me has their limits. What a ridiculous and stupid thing to do. You didn't even have to give them a big wedding. It's in character for them to elope. Why not just have a little ceremony with a few people? And the proposal...ugh. I had no problem with it being at the Pub but could it be more rushed? And to have a honeymoon happen that quick? Yeah, ok...this reeks of Days backtracking. I think they had no intention of keeping Thaoo when his contract expired this month but his Emmy nod (Corday would not want to get rid of yet another critically acclaimed actor...which is why I expect Judi Evans back soon) and maybe he took a cut or something kept him around. I think Tanna was to get engaged and take off and now the show had to backtrack and that is why we ended up with what we got. Still no excuse and so stupid. Abe/Lexie: I'm enjoying this. Glad they are getting something to do and it's realistic. Nice seeing Dr. Carrington too. Other points: Roscoe Born fit in seamlessly. I'm very interested in him and am happy Nick is getting more to do. Glad he was cold to Chelsea too. I'm also interested in Mac's development outside of the Stax angle. Chelsea/Daniel don't bother me but even I found that "guy talk" yesterday appalling and a bit of a waste. The character interactions have been great and, overall, I feel the show is doing ok. Not great but in today's soap climate where only one show is delivering top notch (OLTL and let's see how long that lasts. I love Ron but things will slow down eventually even with faves returning) it easily puts Days up there and probably makes them look a bit better then they are. The show is obviously still in setup mode because sweeps was clearly about tying up loose ends with strike stories and such and setting up new stuff (EJ/Sami discuss "that night,", end of Ava/Martino, Steve/Kayla, etc). I think the fact they did as good as they did in sweeps is pretty amazing considering stories were being set up. My hope is that my mid-June they pick a direction and just stick to it and not do what they did last year. That is the only thing. It's clear they are going to push this summer but they can't stall any further. They need to build the stories and dive in full frontal around mid-June since summer is like one big sweeps month and it's a good time to try to get young viewers. They have been chemistry testing and tossing people around for awhile and, thankfully, things seem to be materializing and I hope that continues because once that happens I think the show will get back on track overall quite a bit. Just some quick thoughts on Friday before I forget since I watched it... The J&M scenes support what I mentioned in my last post. Marlena is just conflicted and I really think she just needed to look into John's eyes and just realize for herself or here it from him. Liked John's claustrophobia being played out and his scenes with Abe. Marlena/Ava was good. Tamara and Dee just rock together and good to see Marlena in a professional role. She seemed more like an individual today. Not going to go off about Tanna again and their wedding but I did enjoy their scenes today. The dancing and him wanting to "ravish" her. It was nice seeing the couples out and while I have no problems with the green talk, it's been a bit too much this week. Less is more, Days. I know NBC is pushing but don't beat us over the heads. It was nice seeing the couples out and I didn't mind Kate out with Bo/Hope. It's ok for them to be civil. I just don't want to see them buddy/buddy, at least not right now. Kate/Roman don't bug me as long as Kate maintains her edge like she did today. As Drew said, one thing Higley did was give Kate a life and hopefully that occurs again. Her talk with Roman about moving on and not meddling was promising. I still have a feeling, judging by Kate/Roman focusing so much on Tony/Anna, that something may happen there. Kate looked a bit too jealous there but we'll see. Max/Stephanie...eh. Shelley's been looking great though. Nice seeing so much of Maggie. Not bad today and an ok week. Hopefully, next week is a bit better. |

Pheonix - aren't you just a bundle of Days sunshine! Loved your positive post and I would have to agree with much that you said! Days has this uncanny ability to have me hate show, but still love the all around action. I did like the Tanna/Bope/Kamen interaction yesterday, and the Ava/Marlena stuff too. John and Marlena at the end almost made me tear up! And I was refreshing to hear Sami talk about how flawed ALL THREE of them were, and whoever said that not one of those three is a saint was right on the money. Lots of energy is put into who is the better person/lover/character and the truth is, they all suck. But it is nice when Sami or Lucas remember that they aren't perfect because usually they act superior...especially Sami. Other than Max and Stephanie, I am presently surprised at how much I am looking forward to next week's shows! I don't know why those two didn't end up sailing around the world! |

I quickly watched wednesday and thursday's shows and liked some parts and couldn't stand the rest..The green talk is so out of place and just weird..I was okay with it on Earth Day, but please make it stop..Its like watching a public service announcement...I liked the Steve, Kayla and Stephanie stuff on wednesday as they saw the baby and went home for the first time..But ended up fastforwarding through them on thursday as they were putting together stuff..Looked cute, but just boring.. I also hope wednesday was the last day those camera people are on, that was such a stupid idea...Really what was the point??? and it looks dumb..I did like the look Morgan had when Phillip and Chloe walked into the pub...i'm really looking forward to that triangle.. Also we should start a daily tailley of number of sets used each day...Its so weird having everyone hanging out at the Brady Pub one day, then another group all at Chez Rouge the next day..At least Nicole and EJ had a reason to move on to a new bar...But its so obvious the budget has been cut.. Finally, like most of you i loved Nicole and Ava..Such cute scenes and a fresh friendship..Love it..And EJ and Nicole are dynamite together, such great scenes..Also i liked seeing Lexie and Hope chatting..And i'm actually really interested in this Max, Nick, and Dean Robbins storyline..Great scene with Max at the end..And the Phloe love scenes were hot!! |

I've gotten used to the set usage situation. The show tends to go through periods where it uses few sets and then periods where it uses many. It all depends. I don't mind it and it should be really on the bottom of the list of the show's concerns. It is annoying at times but most times it's ok. It's been much better since Ed Scott came along. They just have to be creative and they do ok under the circumstances most of the time. I would rather have vets in stories then more sets so this works for me, as long as it makes sense most of the time, which it does IMO. |

I agree that I thought this week's was another round of pretty good episodes. There are come parts of DAYS that are lacking, but other parts are amazing...I'll take that. It's better than the show being complete crap like it was for January-May of 2007. The character interactions are refreshing. I want to watch because I have no idea who is going to interact that day. It's all so random, yet it makes sense. DAYS is entertaining me again. |

Sadly, I would take even January-April 2007 over what we're getting now. It may have been boring as hell, but at least the day to day writing was good. I can't even say that for the show now. |
