^I think they are. It sounds like it since it all seemed to culminate in the Pub going Green. I don't mind it but they really need to make it more subtle or not as blatant. I think they should give it a rest though, at least for now.

Anyway, Monday sounds solid. I can't wait for the John/Hope scene especially.

Mondays: The only thing I liked was the John and Hope scene. Everything else seemed pointless or stupid or both
I agree with you there. That was a pointless episode!

Sorry to burst your bubble Rhiannon ... there really isn't anything to look forward to on Monday.

The problem I have with the green pimping is that their solutions are totally unrealistic for the average Joe. I mean the CLOSEST the average middle class person could do is get a hybrid car, and that type of fuel isn't readily available everywhere. The writers are not thinking outside the realm of LA. Where's the talk about, "Dang it, turn out the light! Conserve energy". Or, "I traded in my SUV for a car with better gas mileage". "Did you put out the recycling today"? Or even "Put out something to catch the rain water in because it's going to rain tonight'. "Do the dishes by hand because we don't want to overload the electric system. It's in the middle of the day during a heat wave".
That kind of stuff with which the average Joe could identify.
I half expected them to break out in pompoms and have a tailgate party (in a hybrid truck, of course). The big irony was Tony and Anna's trip to Bora Bora that was mentioned days ago. How much jet fuel did that take? Or ship fuel or whatever?
I just don't feel it was merged well enoug with ongoing storylines, but stuck in as an afterthought. The "fit" wasn't there. Now, they better do a better job with Theo's autism, or as a teacher, I'll throw a fit, especially if they get preachy and trendy about it instead of realistic.

I'm a regular viewer and I still find the green stuff corny and out of place.
I agree. And it's made Bo a loser. How CAN'T a storyline suck if it singelhandedly destroys the likeability factor of one of the most popular characters?

^I doubt Peter Reckell cares. He loves the whole green thing and it seems Ed Scott and NBC do too.

Couple more points: I really like John Newman. He's written some good shows and he wrote wonderful Friday. I loved all the character work he did with Chelsea, especially in her scene with Nick where she admitted her mistakes. Nick's reaction too was well-done. This, to me, lends credence to my theory that the flashbacks only seem to happen under certain writers and about once a week. I'm going to start paying more attention to that.

I also noticed that Friday's episode did not go to commercial after the credits. It went to the next segment and then a commercial. I like that. It's like the old days. It seems like Days always does that for a few episodes in early June. Don't know why. I remember ther did it in the episodes Steve and Kayla returned in two years ago too. I wish they would stick with that format. It really gets a nice flow going IMO.

Phoenix, I forgot to mention it. I had to do a doubletake while fastforwarding after the theme -- ONLY TO REALIZE THE SHOW WENT ON! It was VERY shocking, and I keep wondering why they did it.

DOn't get me wrong, I LOVE it, though.

If all this green SHIT (yeah, I said it!) kills his fanbase, I'd bet he cares. Look, I'm all for 'green' living but I DON'T want it on my soaps! NBC, Corday and Reckell can suck it if they INSIST on me watching these green-colored stools.

^I doubt it would. Go to other boards. His fans love it and are happy he is getting to support something he believes in and loves.

I bet he probably pushed to be involved when Days began focusing on the Green thing. Hell, he was in those commercials back in November supporting it and has gone on about it nearly every time in interviews.

I'm seriously sick of it. I mean, I HATE this. It's bringing the whole show down and I have ZERO respect for Reckell if he's willing to sacrifice the show's quality just to preach something we all already know about it or they could inform people about on the web site. Seriously, you know it's bad when I'm saying aloud to Caroline, "Go FUCK yourself" as she cuts that rubbing-it-in-even-more green ribbon. It's just bringing the WHOLE show down. This is worse than Garden of Eden and anything from Dena's first reign. It REALLY sucks! Someone here even said, and I agree, that it's not even a story! It's just lame, PSA filler!

^Well, when they write it badly, yes.

It doesn't have to be that way. They could still do it but not be annoying about it. Hogan did it in November and in April for Earth Day they weren't as blatant about it (except the T-shirts). I think it would've been fine if they had not gone on and on about it randomly forever, like a week ago when Tony/Anna, Roman/Kate, and Bo/Hope were out to dinner and talked for like 5 minutes about it. Just mention it and leave it alone until you get to the Pub becoming green. That is why I was ok with yesterday because it involved something actually happening, the pub going green. That, to me, is the kind of thing that works because you see the characters setting an example and then any speeches or whatever stems from that. I do think all the talking about for 3 weeks ruined it alot.

I should also add that I love family gatherings so I'm probably biased since this whole green thing got all the Brady's together and allowed for that great background music (the Santeen theme) to be played in some traditional-type Days family scenes. It was also nice to see Shawn being remembered. I just loved how it all played out Friday and any way to give us more Caroline and more adorable Ciara scenes (she was so cute playing with Caroline) is ok with me LOL.

After all... tomorrow is another day!

Unless this is setting up some huge Salem flooded because of global warming disaster story, I don't wanna hear about it any more.

I think (hope) friday was the end of the green theme with Pub being officially certificated. We might hear something more as a part of the Max/Nick/Trent storyline because his work is in that field too, but thatīs it. On Monday B/H are back in the uniforms and with the things coming I doubt they will have time to be preachy again.

Either a huge global warming disaster story, or Al Gore arriving in Salem. Remember that Corday did the same thing with Philip's war injury just a few years ago. Corday met Paul McCartney and his then wife, Heather, at some fund raising event (probably having to do with landmines). No sooner had that happened when they sent Philip to war and soon after home with his leg amputated. And who shows up to console Philip but Paul McCartney's wife? After that his injury was virtually forgotten. I'm not holding out any hope for Theo's autism story either. Days doesn't do social issues very well, if ever.

The green stuff does suck, but I'm not sure I would go that far, LoL.

Really, Lucas has only been out of prison for not even two days, so maybe Lucas just needs a little adjustment period to get used to having two babies.

But if I were EJ, and knowing that Lucas hates me, there is no way in hell that I would let him watch my son...if Lucas has no problem shooting someone in the back who is standing a foot away from the supposed love of his life, who knows what he would do with the kid who is screaming his fool head off. Apparantly Lucas has some anger issues he needs to resolve.
So maybe I would be concerned about Ali too.
But then EJ should understand that Lucas feels the same way about EJ being with Allie.

The whole trio is a mess if you think about it. Neither of them is perfect all deeply flawed but... Will grew up watching his parents plot and scheme against each other. How many times did Sami embarrass Will? How many times did Lucas and Sami use Will against each other? How many times to Lucas and Sami scream at each other infront of Will? If I were a court deciding which of the three would be the better parent to both Allie and Johnny. At this point I would choose EJ. EJ is calm, He uses inside voices, he has proven to care and love both children without an agenda (he brought back Johnny to Sami & Lucas when he was in a wheel chair, he would not separate Johnny from his mother, he has never yet threatened to take Johnny away from Sami or his sister) he has a job. Lucas needs Anger management and Sami needs therapy.

It would be a shame, though, to have those kids jerked away once again when it's discovered EJ lied about a legal proceeding (i.e., his annulment) and possibly, found in cahoots with the immigration officer. Ohhh, and if the whole reason why he got married to Sami in the first place came to light......lots of witnesses there. And, let's not forget the whole DECEMBER incident. If it comes right down to it, if Sami has to fight for her kids, you bet your sweet bippy that'll come up again.
Right now, the best person for those kids is Rolf!

^ Lucas is sometimes good to watch, as well. It sucks cuz he's restricted to staying in the mansion, but I'm liking him interacting with everyone too.
