Really, Lucas has only been out of prison for not even two days, so maybe Lucas just needs a little adjustment period to get used to having two babies.

But if I were EJ, and knowing that Lucas hates me, there is no way in hell that I would let him watch my son...if Lucas has no problem shooting someone in the back who is standing a foot away from the supposed love of his life, who knows what he would do with the kid who is screaming his fool head off. Apparantly Lucas has some anger issues he needs to resolve.
So maybe I would be concerned about Ali too.

But yeah, accidents happen no matter who is watching the kids. Funny that Sami doesn't mind the evil scientist butler watching her kids, but didn't even think of Lucas. Rolf does experiments on people for fun...hell no my kids would stay with him!

I liked today's show.

I'm not saying Lucas wasn't irresponsible. However, EJ couldn't have known that Lucas would be irresponsible with the children. As far as I can remember, Lucas has never been that way with his children, so even Sami couldn't have been hesitant to leave the children with him. What happened afterwards doesn't excuse the fact that Sami and especially EJ were worried beforehand to leave the twins alone with Lucas.

I think they were more worried that he would kidnap them ... or at least take Allie and run! He's threatened to do that! He's threatened to take Allie, Sue for custody!

I wish they'd give these "going green" scenes to someone more in-character. Bo Brady, environmentalist? Please!

Sounds to me like Dena Higley has nothing for Bo and Hope to do at the moment, and instead of having her favorite couple get backburnered and not appear on the show, she'll just give them anything to show them.

It's really funny seeing Max try to be a man and step up to John Black.

After all... tomorrow is another day!

Damn I wish I could just watch DOOL without nitpicking.

I actually am enjoying the show quite a bit but there are just so many WTFs for me that I have to document them.

1. I get that Sami is wary of Lucas taking on manny duties again and get why EJ doesn't want him around Johnny, but even if Lucas did try to kill EJ it's still hard for me to wrap my head around the idea that Sami is more comfortable leaving the twins with Stefano DiMera's ex-evil scientist in Rolf than she is the man she proclaims is her supposed "love of her life."

2. In the scene at the pub I noticed that Chelsea encouraged Stephanie to drink from Morgan's milkshake after she left. That was odd.

3. Where did the Lexie-Daniel thing come from? Not that I'm opposed to this at all as I think they look hot together and I actually find it possible to like Dan when he is in scenes with Lexie which I can't really do any other time, but I feel like I missed something. Did they share a kiss or something that I missed? Cause if so I'm pissed because I actually think such a scene would be hot. Unlike the gross Chan makeout scenes. Another added bonus of a Lexie-Daniel affair is we finally get to see the shady side of this otherwise upstanding gentleman everyone keeps putting on some green pedestal so even though it would make him more of an asshole going after a married woman, I'd find him a lot more interesting this way.

4. So Sami and EJ FINALLY get a scene alone two (or is it three?) weeks after they slept together and still the show has these two dance around discussing what happened or discuss their plans for the divorce aside from Sami mentioning it in passing and EJ saying "Ouch." Yet Sami still gives him mooning eyes as she talks about all he's doing for the twins and EJ is still super nice to her even though they're supposed to be divorcing? WTF? Does the show have any fucking clue what they are doing with these two? Or any fucking clue how Sami feels about EJ? They've made it clear that Sami wants to keep Lucas and she thinks he's the love of her life. I don't think this is the way it should be, but I accept that the character feels that way because I understand why she does. But in the case of Sami's feelings toward EJ, I just don't get them and would like a little bit more enlightenment with Sami confiding either directly in EJ or someone else about why she is just tossing EJ and whatever feelings she has for him aside after finally going to bed with him.

5. WTF are they doing with Max? So not only has he apparently been hiding this super secret genius underneath the grease monkey veneer but apparently he's also kind of the Incredible Hulk with serious anger management issues? Ummmm Okayyyyyyyyyy...

6. What was up with Mr. Burke and EJ? So did EJ set up the whole immigration mess as a scam to keep Sami with him longer? I don't really care if that's the case cause I like my scheming EJ just fine, but I do get annoyed if they are rewriting that whole storyline now so that it just seems like they are making things up as they go. Do the writers think these sort of scenes create mystery and suspense? Because mostly they just give me a headache and have me feeling ripped off when I find out later something happened off screen to totally color a past scene or scenes in a completely different light. Like the whole big super secret meeting between Steve and EJ was so WTF when we found out weeks later all it was about was Payla renting his apartment.

In other thoughts.
-The Phillip-Jawn showdown at the Kiriakis Mansion was so hammy but I actually still loved it. Maybe it was mostly Phillip's HOT dark suit that did it for me, but no I think I would have enjoyed this scene no matter what Phil was wearing. I still don't get why Phil hates Jawn so much though. I mean it's definitely beyond business for the character. Does he blame Jawn for him losing Belle? Because that would help me understand the visceral hatred better. And yay for Victor being back.

-Why was Nicole looking for Jawn besides creating the opportunity for her to run into Chloe on the docks? I'm so confused.

-I have no idea if the writers intended anything by it, but it's fun to parse symbolism from Allie wandering out the French doors at the DiMansion of all places resulting in Lucas getting in trouble with the cops and Sami becoming angry with him over it. Given that the whole Lumi romantic relationship really began with Sami tumbling through those same doors, maybe this was the way of the writers bringing things full circle as this event signals the beginning of the end for Lumi? Naw, I'm not that lucky. And the writers aren't that clever.

-I don't really care about the Hollingsworths any more. Was Paul foreshadowing something bad happening to Morgan with his warnings about the evil scary big bad pier?

Gosh, Mary, I have missed your nitpicky posts! While I don't always agree with you, I love reading your opinions. Such fun.
Agree with #1, will watch for #2 when I see today's show; #3, don't know if they will go there with Lexie & Daniel; #4, Sami and EJ should have had this discussion sooner and I, too, wish she would really examine her feelings (one way or the other) although I really don't want her with either one at this point; #5, WTF indeed! have no clue; #6, I have always thought that the immigration thing was a set up by EJ. The Steve thing was weird. I wish they had moved back into the loft instead; Phillip & John are so mismatched - should be Victor instead. About Nicole, she is just looking for more ammunition to use against John. I like the Hollingsworths - I would be interested in seeing Paul with Kate.

I think that the show's only real plans for the damned EJamicas triangle is to drag it out as long as possible. I don't think Corday will ever let one couple be the endgame, no matter who's writing, so we'll probably be doomed to this ping-ponging nonsense for a long time, unfortunately. Good thing I'm not a fan of either pairing, so it doesn't really piss me off as much as it would otherwise.

Hellooooo! Phloe/Broe! The only reason they ended that and made Broe *the* couple was because JKJ left the show. TPTB were content to string both fanbases along for as long as humanly possibly.

I actually enjoyed today's show, which was a surprise because lately I've been bored silly with most of it. There are a lot of things I have to ignore (see IMissAremid's excellent post), as I think the writers are floundering a bit with how to deal with some of these storylines.

The Chelsea/Daniel scene was very odd, as he seemed to be getting a lot of enjoyment out of telling Chelsea about this other woman, while she wasn't taking it seriously. I almost reached for the ff button, but I decided to force myself to watch in case this conversation had importance down the road. For me, the Lexie/Daniel thing is coming completely out of left field, as today is the first flirty moment I can recall between the two. However, I don't pay much attention to the Daniel scenes so I could have missed something.

I maybe understand a little why Sami was hesitant in leaving Allie with Lucas. He's only been out of prison a couple days and is inexperienced with a child that young (when Will was that age, Austin was believed to be his father). It takes a lot of patience and a lot of energy to care for a child that young, as well as a clear head. It was irresponsible for Lucas to leave Allie unattended for even a moment, even if the door had been shut. But to leave a baby in a room alone, in a room that has not been child-proofed, and with the outside door standing open.....that's extremely negligent. He could have easily taken the child with him or put her in her crib to keep her safe. Bad move, Lucas! And on the subject of Lucas, I wish BD would make some different acting choices once in awhile. The clenched jaw, the yelling, the belligerence, the scrunched up eyebrows with the frown lines....I had hoped we would see a different version of Lucas after his break, but it's the same old thing.

Yay for Victor being back! That was a nice surprise. He's such a powerful character that whenever he shows up, I lean in towards the TV and begin to pay more attention. Love him. I always enjoy him hating on Chloe, too. Maybe he and Nicole can team up because of their joint Chloe hate and get rid of her for good. As for Nicole, I can't believe she was really going to rat out EJ....but it seemed that was her plan. As much as I hate Chloe, that's how much I LOVE Nicole!

Max is seriously annoying me. And standing up to John--laughable. But at least the story seems to be building towards something finally. I'm also happy to see Nick away from Chelsea because she's really toxic to his character.

I can't believe a judge or whoever made the decision is allowing Lucas to be placed under house arrest in a home with children in the first place. The whole situation is stupid.

The Lucas arrest scenes annoyed me. I'm not a lumi fan (anymore) and Lucas has pissed me off since his return but today seemed to pushed and forced. Also, the EJami stuff felt weird in the java cafe. I guess it was meant to show he comfortable around each other they were when Lucas wasn't around. I guess.

Actually the whole show was random. Paul lurking under the docs, Nicole and Chloe having an arguement, Lexie/Daniel.

The Lexie/Daniel stuff is weird. Is Daniel going to use Lexie to ward off Chelsea? (Coward). For once I don't blame Lexie with this, sure she shouldn't be telling Daniel all her business but he really started it with his talk of Rebecca and everything. And I know this is minority opinion but I can understand why Lexie would prefer to bitch about her marriage to Daniel whom she hardly konws. She does feel a connection (though I thought it was a professional one) and more importantly, he doesn't know Abe. I'm sure it's not easy when you're irritated with your spouse but your best friend is married to his best friend coworkers. Anyway, back to the point, Daniel's weird confession to Chelsea felt like a lie but maybe he is having an affair and the viewers are supposed to think it's Lexie but it's someone else. I don't really care. I don't like Daniel, I'm tired of his propping and I'm tired of Chan being shoved down our throat. I especially am tired of how they are stuck in the same cycle for weeks now.

Now Max, I could care less about MathMax or MadMax. He's coming unglued but I did like how Nick stood up to him and again let him know he's trying to give him credit. When this story first started and Max was changing Nick's work, I was worried they would have Nick happily taking credit, so luckily that isn't the case. I also like how it seems to have forged a new bond for Stephanie and Nick as well. I think SH seems more secure around Blake and she doesn't get OTT which is her normal weakness.

Oh, and I thought Nick looked really yummy in that shirt. I wish we had more on Robbins but I'm sure that will come later (very sure in fact).

You know, Mason, I wouldn't be surprised if Lucas living at DiMansion wasn't arranged by EJ.

They did have a scene (last week, I think) where they were talking and either Lexie put her hand on Daniel's or the other way around. Abe saw it and didn't like it. I can't think of anything other than that though.

I wish they'd give these "going green" scenes to someone more in-character. Bo Brady, environmentalist? Please!

This whole going green thing is boring and they should quit with that! I am sure they having Bo do it though since Peter Reckell is really into that kind of thing.

Yep. Not only because he left, but because (as green as he was, and I mean green as in new, not green as in Days-constantly-lecturing-green) he told the show 18 months in advance that he would NOT be renewing his contract when it was up. So they immediately started to write Philip as a psycho and turned Brady into a freaking saint.

That's why when people talk about the EJ/Sami/Lucas triangle, the only way this thing is going to end is when one of the actors leaves the show. And when the actor leaves, that character will be decimated in favor of the other two. Because heaven forbid you have two viable possible pairings. One must be evil and the other good.
