MARTHA'S POST

Wow! It's been a long time since I've had a chance to catch up with my homey's here. For those of you who haven't been around here in awhile, I just wanted to point out that Mallory and Drea have "fancied up" my website. You may have been redirected here from the previous site and not even noticed. If that is, in fact, the case...WELCOME!! You are officially on the marthamadison.net homepage!!! Yeah! The last one was growing more and more outdated, and I am not technically savvy enough to have done much with it on my own. So major thanks and props to Drea and Mallory! Love you guys!

I wanted to say how much I have appreciated your ongoing support over the last few months. I am personally an, "Out of site, out of mind" person (a trait I'm not always proud of). So, the fact that you've continued to send me warm messages and thoughts since I last aired is always a pleasant surprise and heartwarming to say the least.

Over the last few months, I have been really enjoying spending some much needed time with AJ. We have traveled several times to San Francisco and New York and recently had five of his buddies here with us in LA for a week. Being the only female in house full of testosterone was enlightening to say the least. Let's just say, I learned a lot about paddle tennis and baseball. So fun though!

Lately, I have been writing a lot. In fact, AJ and I have been working on a tv show concept that we have written and been actively pitching for the last 6 weeks. No luck yet, but we are always tweaking. I guess this is the hard part, so I'm trying to take it in stride.

Another bit of exciting news...AJ and I made an offer on a bar space in LA on Friday. It looks like it's a go. So, after the next few months of construction and design, I will officially be a bar owner....a long time aspiration of mine. Some of you may not know, but I bartended and managed bars in New York for 5 years before managing Luna Park here in LA (where I fell in love and ultimately married the owner...LOL). So, in doing all of this, I have managed to keep myself busy, fulfill a dream and still audition for any/all things that come up for my "type". The latter has been dwindling as we approach a possible SAG strike next month. Hopefully, the negotiators on both sides will see what an economic travesty that would be and lay down their swords. However, until their is certainty of a deal, not much work is coming around for many actors. Soaps seem to be in good shape though. So, obviously when/if the opportunity arises, I would love to do that as well. Who knows...only time will tell....

Until then, I'll be brushing up on my bar lingo...ahem..."Would you like that shaken or stirred"??!! LOL!!

Much love,
MM

I LOOOVE Martha! I'm glad to read that she's staying in L.A., as I thought I'd read that she had moved to NY. Corday, pull your head out of your ass for a minute, and bring her back to DAYS!

Love ya, Martha, but another trait you shouldn't be proud of is the poor spelling. "Out of site," out of mind? No, dear. It's "out of sight," out of mind.

Thats awesome that she's living out a dream and opening up a bar..Hopefully that works out for her, this is a tough time to do that now though..Also glad she's staying in LA, as there is a chance she could come back to Days in the future..

Who cares about her grammer?

Plus she could of also been referring to being away from her SITE for awhile.

Hopefully the SAG doesn't go on strike because that could very well be a disaster.

Who cares about her grammAr? Me. I'm crazy about it!

Also, I disagree about the "site" suggestion. Because she was using a very popular expression, that suggests she intended the first spelling for that expression, which is "sight." Sorry, but this thing really gets to me.

site is a common spelling on the net now. It is not big deal. Remember this is the INTERNET - not English 101.

How do you know site wasn't a pun that she intentionally made?

I hope you're wrong! I was very amazed that Brandon got a new opportunity before she did.
