There is an interview with Noelle BecK,the actress who replace Martha Byrne as Lily.

Noelle Beck (Lily)
Lily returned to the canvas in May after a quick trip out of town, but fans didn't see the familar Lily, but rather daytime veteran, Noelle Beck who took over the role from Martha Byrne. CBS.com caught up with Noelle to talk about taking over the beloved role of Lily and all that is in store for her character in the coming months.

CBS.com: How are things going at ATWT?
NOELLE BECK: It's fantastic. I'm loving my new job.

CBS.com: What's it like to take on an established role?
NOELLE BECK: It's been interesting. This is not an easy task. Martha did such an incredible job and was so loved. She has a huge fan following. I think it's going to take time for people to accept me as the new Lily. I've had really enthusiastic responses from the crew and cast, Jon (Hensley, Holden) especially; he's really excited and encouraging. I hope the fans give me time to prove that I can bring a new perspective to the role and I hope they will enjoy it.

CBS.com: What attracted you to the role of Lily?
NOELLE BECK: It reminded me of a role I played on Loving. I thought if I went back to Daytime it would be a character that was loved by the audience, had a lot of history, had a core family. Lily felt really right to me and after speaking with Executive Producer, Chris Goutman and getting his take on the show and the character, it just clicked.

CBS.com: What type of research did you do to prepare?
NOELLE BECK: Well they sent me a lot of Lily's backstory and I read up on that. I have three children; Lily has a bunch of kids. We are around the same age; I've been married for eighteen years. A lot of my life I bring to Lily.

CBS.com: How was your first day on the set?
NOELLE BECK: It was a lot of work. They had me do twenty-two scenes in one day; forty-four pages of dialogue. It was a lot of work and I really learned my lines and was so prepared. Jon was fantastic and he loves to run lines. We just automatically hit it off and had fun together. Everyone was super welcoming and made my transition feel great.

CBS.com: How would you describe Lily since she returned to Oakdale?
NOELLE BECK: She's fighting to get her husband back and her marriage back on track. She went away and really made a commitment to be the best mother and to be the best wife. But she's also struggling to find that intimacy with Holden again and he needs time just like she needed time. Sadly, Lily just wants everything to be perfect overnight.

CBS.com: Has Lily moved past Dusty and her feelings for him?
NOELLE BECK: Yes. As far as I can see. She's 100% madly in love with Holden and wants to be with him.

CBS.com: Do you think Lily understands why Holden is reluctant to jump back into their relationship?
NOELLE BECK: I think at first she's only seeing her point of view but as the episodes unroll you'll see that she realizes that she has to give him this time and all this rushing isn't going to work for him. She's learning to be patient. It's a struggle for her.

CBS.com: While Lily was gone, Carly and Holden have gotten close. Is Lily seeing those warning signs?
NOELLE BECK: She's starting to see them. She initially didn't see them. But things are creeping up and she's a little suspicious but not initially at all against Carly because she's such a good friend. Lily feels very grateful to Carly for being there for Holden while she was away; no, she's not really picking up on anything.

CBS.com: How are Lily's children’s reactions to her return?
NOELLE BECK: I think they are really happy to have their mother at home. It's a little rocky at first. She lets her feelings of what's going on with her marriage play out in a public scene which is embarrassing to Faith but Lily is really fighting to get everyone back on the same page with her.

CBS.com: You recently dabbled in primetime series, what made you want to return to Daytime?
NOELLE BECK: I am a mother of three and this schedule for Daytime allows me to be the mother I want to be and be able to go to school functions, go to my children’s sport games, maybe take them to school, cook dinner. When you're sitting on a set for a one-hour nighttime show, you could be there into the wee hours of the morning and it just wasn't working with my lifestyle.

CBS.com: How was the As The World Turns fan event you attended?
NOELLE BECK: It was so great. They were so wonderful and I am so glad I went because they really came up and said how they loved Lily and they were going to give me a chance and just wishing me well. I had so many warm wishes from everyone. I just felt great. I really wanted to go and meet them and say I am going to do my best. They were very wonderful and I was so happy to meet them.

CBS.com: Did you have any fun fan encounters?
NOELLE BECK: A lot of people remembered me from Loving so that was nice. It was fun to reconnect with that. Change is hard to get used to but I hope by meeting them that fans could see that I want to do a great job.

CBS.com: What's next for Lily?
NOELLE BECK: I think there's going to be some hard times ahead. It's not looking good. Those love triangles are fantastic. For an actor, it's terrific.
