(Source: SOW) modified: Where are they now? Patsy Pease: SOW: Your last Days' appearance was for Shawn's funeral. How was it? PP: There was a personal sadness to it, because it meant Frank Parker was not going to be there anymore. I love tuning in to see his wonderful face - and Peggy McCay's. There are quality folks at Days. Mary Beth Evans and Stephen Nichols were so dear to me. They invited me to lunch and went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. Josh Taylor, as well. It made me feel very secure about coming back. SOW: What would you cite as some of your favorite memories from Days? PP: Anything with Charles Shaughnessy. I can remember telling jokes with Charlie right before a scene and then not remembering what our lines were. SOW: You were last on contract in 1994. What did you do when you left? PP: Raise my children. I was a single mother with two small boys and just couldn't see giving them over to somebody else to raise while I was gone 12 hours a day. I made the choice to focus on my kids. We scaled down our lifestyle, so they could have mom there when they came home from school. SOW: How old are your boys now? PP: Joshua is 20 and is a United States sailor in the Persian Gulf. I'd like to dedicate this article to him and the men and women aboard the USS Winston S Churchill. They are Days fans. I sent autographed pictures to the sailors who requested them. My youngest son, Russell, is 17. He's in the marching band in high school. I volunteered at the school every Friday night for the past two years. I lug out a gong to the football field before the game. I didn't take it personally that they gave me a gong (laughs). SOW: Have you considered returning to acting? PP: Yes. I've gotten hints from my boys; "It's okay for you to get out of the house once in a while." They're very subtle. I've been teaching at the SAG Conservatory, helping young actors transition from theatre to sound stage. I've gotten so much joy from watching my students get jobs. SOW: Have you been up to anything else? PP: I became certified as a physical fitness instructor. I taught at LA Fitness for a while, and Bodies in Motion. Then I started working one on one with people who were injured and trying to get off pain medication. I'm passionate about it, because I've been through it. I had four spinal surgeries, and I was told all the things I would never do again. I found if I worked core stability on an unstable surface, like a Pilates ball, I could get strength back. So I isolated the muscles, strengthened them, and can now do back-bends. SOW: Have you given any thought to a return to Days? PP: I've made it known, "Hey, I'm available." I don't want to look like this wimpy actress going, "I'd really like my job back." It's a fine line to say that and still maintain your dignity. But yes, I would love to go back. |

I can't say enough about how thrilled I am for her that she back in good health. I know how many of us were worried about her for quite a while after we'd learned about her back surgeries. And now she's all better! God love her! Patsy has always been a favorite of mine. She's one of the best criers to ever appear on soaps. She could turn on the waterworks at the drop of a hat! |

Trust me. She's been on my short-list for quite a while now for 'Hidden Secrets'. I just have to find the right character and storyline. |
