I held off on this thread as I was watching it delayed. LOL at Jeannie Cooper`s speech. BOOO at GH winning. But Ron Carlivati winning was great and really the only award I cared about. I would have liked Brian Kerwin to have won supporting. and has Sherri Sheppard pulled a Star Jones and gotten her own little secret "medical intervention", cause she's lost half of herself since I saw her a few months ago? I forgot to comment on this earlier, but I think Jeanne Cooper's acceptance speech had to be the best part of the night, to me, anyway, LoL. |

This was not a good show.People won who didn't deserve too. JL for example. Rachel Melvin was SOOO much better an actress than her. WHo was at the Days table?I could barely see any of them during the broadcast |

she's really not. Jennifer Landon may be overrated, but she acts circles around Melvin. |

They almost never showed the DAYS table, but I know that I for sure saw Thaao Penghlis, Leann Hunley, Peggy McCay, and Darin Brooks. I know that Bryan Dattilo, Jay Kenneth Johnson, Shelley Hennig, Nadia Bjorlin, Rachel Melvin, Judi Evans, Alison Sweeney, and Arianne Zucker were all at the ceremony, but I don't remember seeing them at the actual table. |

Landon only deserved her first Emmy, IMO. She sure as hell didn't deserve her third, tonight. |

Jennifer Landon is waaaaaaaaaaaaay overrated and in my opinion, in her more recent performances (say the last 2 years), really can't touch Rachel Melvin. |

Agreed. I don't have anything against JL, I think she can be a great actress when she doesn't phone it in. But that trophy all but had Rachel's name on it. Edited by Mason, Jun 20 2008, 10:04 PM.

Clearly the nominees and winners are not based on best performances, but rather who is most popular among the higher ups.It sux.I'll watch again when Y&R doesn't get two actors noominated in every category |

I think of all the winners Jennifer is the only one I don't really like. I loved all the rest. I feel like they all had good years even though I would have loved to seen Peter over Tony but Tony still had a great year. He was my number 2. I didn't like the 5 lead actress noms much so I was hoping Jeanne would get it since I didn't feel the 5 should have really been there. Michelle Stafford was really the best of the 5. As far as Jennifer Landon I don't think she deserved this award but to say she is not a good actress is wrong IMO. The girl is one of the best young actresses to ever come through daytime. She is guilty of phoning it in at times, but so is Melvin. I thought the race was between Melvin and Landon, and I didn't care which one won as long as one of the Y&R girls didn't win - they didn't deserve it at all. So I am happy for Landon and not going to call her a bad actress because of it. She portrayed two very well defined and different characters this last year, and that is nothing to cast off - she did it very well even if the writing sucked big time. |

Well I personally think GH's episodes were the same ole song and dance. Emmy bait and nothing more, but it works so what can ya do? DAYS should put all their vets on recurring and start a mob war between The Kiriakas' and a brand new family. Save all their money for a good shootout or a hostage crisis and I betcha they could win an Emmy. Oh and Jcar, OLTL probably submitted the special prom episode because that's the kind of episode won them ther Emmy a few years back. Sure it was nice to see DAYS nominated but in reality 3/4 of them had a 0% chance of winning. The only thing I am pissed about it that Rachel Melvin was robbed. She should change her name to Jennifer to secure her a win next year. Jennifer Finnigan 2002, 2003, 2004 Jennifer Landon 2006, 2007, 2008 Edited by Rick, Jun 20 2008, 11:06 PM.

That's what the awards have always been. That is nothing new. And Y&R is not the first show and it won't be the last to get 2 nominations in every category. For many years NBC shows dominated the awards. NBC and ABC dominated the awards in the 70's - CBS shows hardly got any nominations at all. CBS fans and the network didn't boycott the awards - they just stuck in there. CBS didn't even start getting recognized until almost the 8th or 9th year of the awards. I have always found it funny that NBC dominated all those years, but they were the first to boycott the awards when ABC started dominating in the 80's. CBS is pretty much the only network to never really speak out or boycott the awards even during the times they were pretty much ignored. |

As I have said it is a big part of the problem with the Emmys. It is sad when a show can be bad pretty much all year but can produce some great eppys like GH did or like GL did with the 70th and Tammy's funeral. They both put together great reels in what was pretty much bad years for both soaps. But look at Days this year. It has pretty much sucked most of the year, but they could put together a great real from some of the stuff in February and people would think the show was superb all year long. It is sadder that actors and actresses can be great for a month and pretty much do nothing the rest of the year and still compete in Best Lead Actor or Actress category too. But people pretty much accept that but fuss at GH or other shows who just shine at certain moments. Many actors do the same thing and then phone it in or act shitty all year and many still say they deserve to be nominated. |

I didn't bother watching any of it this year, and I'm glad I stuck to my decision! When Katherine Kelly Lang was again unfairly snubbed by the nomination committee, that was it for me! GH is Best Drama? You've got to be kidding! :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: |

I'm uploading clips that the stars are taking of themselves. These clips are from SoapNet. If you cant watch them at SN, go here. http://www.youtube.com/user/CraneEstate Quality is shitty since they are using GL's camera. |
