I'm sorry, but I didn't like any of the elevator sex scenes. It's summer, and I had a bunch of kids running in and out of the house and had to keep stopping the show so I didn't educate my neighbor's four year old on something he shouldn't be educated on yet! I'm really surprised the EJ/Nicole scenes got by the censors, and I'm surprised the Lucas/Chloe scenes were even shown because they were so bad. Shoving Chloe's face up against the wall, pushing her straps down, then pulling them up, then shoving them down again, wiping his mouth over and over again.....ewwwww! At least the EJ/Nicole scenes were hot--too hot for DAYS, in my opinion. I guess they're going with that old adage--sex sells. We'll see; I'm afraid it may lose them some viewers if this keeps up. Okay, prudish rant over!

I'm still enjoying the John/Marlena/Ava scenes, although I wish they were writing Marlena better. I can totally understand John's reasoning behind not wanting to use the disk so why can't Marlena? He knows he's been mind controlled and used as a pawn for most of his life so why would he take the risk of messing with his mind again? Especially since he doesn't know who stole the disk and returned it to Marlena--for all John knows, it could have been tampered with and could be used to mess him up even more, instead of restoring his memories. The story is good but could be so much better.

I've relaxed my rule of automatically ffing any and all scenes that include Max and Stephanie and watched them for the first time in weeks, maybe months. I still don't like either character but at least the story has improved slightly.

Daniel is creepy and Chelsea is naive and foolish. Enough said. Except....Lauren Koslow, who I've always believed is gorgeous, needs to stop with the plastic surgery/procedures. There's something "off" about her face, although I can't figure out exactly what it is. Something is different and not in a good way. I'm hoping for a smackdown with Kate and Daniel over Chelsea. She has to do something besides just warn Chelsea off; that never works.

I always pick the wrong time to take a chance and tune back into this show lol.

I watched that elevator crap and IMO it was FUCKING NASTY! Especially Chloe and Lucas it was like low grade porn or something. It was neither entertaining or interesting IMO!
I agree.ANY sex in a public place is inappropriate and disgusting.I almost expected Sami and Phillip to show up in an elevator doing it. Thumbs down to yesterday's ep! :puke:

I will say this, while Marlena is bugging the shit out of me with her attitude towards John at least yesterday I got how heartbroken she is. Still though just once I'd like her to try and see it from his point of view rather than treating him as if he were a child with her "I'm so disappointed in you' comments.
What's bugging me about the J&M story is that they have been married and intimate for years. Why doesn't Marlena just get down with him? I would. Yes, he's lost his 'memories' but there are certain things long time couples like to do together that I would think could get through to him. Married sex isn't always about romance. I don't know what else to say without getting too graphic.

The sex scenes in a public place may have been inappropriate but it was awesome that it finally happened for both couples. I loved watching Sami find both men cheating on her at the same time. For me, it beat them having sex in a private place and Sami not finding out for a long while, which is what would've happened if she hadn't been at the right place at the right time.

Dreaming of a Melanie-free Days

While I personally would never have sex in an elevator or any public place for that matter, I watch TV to see people do things I won't or can't do. I'm relatively prudish but I thought the EJole elevator scenes were hot. No, I wouldn't have wanted to have been watching them with children or my parents in the room, but I feel that way about a lot of programming.

I was just amazed at how emotional the EJ and Nicole scenes were. Both actors really sold me on not just their physical attraction to each other but their emotional connection, EJ in particular getting so much more than he bargained for. When they were sitting together with his arms around her. . . wow, I really felt that he cares so much about her. I totally understood Nicole in a way not wanting to ever be rescued. I'm sure the triangle from hell is nowhere near over and it would be unrealistic (funny to apply that word to Days) to expect EJ to have truly moved on from his obsession just yet, but in the meantime I'll take what I can get.

As for the rest of the show, it's like I unwittingly entered a competition with the show to see how much more nauseated I could get by Chan each and every day. Chelsea honestly could not be more of a selfish bitch, I don't think, and Daniel is coming off as a nasty, threatening creep. Please, please, please, show, follow through on the hints you've been giving that Chelsea has to make her own mistakes and Daniel's one of them.

Still wish Stax would just vanish as a couple, but at least Trent is around to make Max (slightly) more interesting. I think DB has a nice light comic touch, so in that role I think he's fine (for example, I really liked him with Mimi). But as a rageaholic, no, not so much.

Most of you covered all my comments for me about yesterday's show but I will add that my husband was home and his comment was about the music during elevator sex - how awful it was. :D
I too thought Daniel and Chelsea were completely inappropriate. EJ & Nicole - what can I add - great chemistry and the scenes, while pretty graphic, were ok. Lucas and Chloe - ugh. I like Lucas, but Chloe was so bad. They don't even look good together. Really awkward. But I suppose that is the way it was meant to be - awkward. You all have to remember, Lucas hasn't had any in a long time! :D :D

GET EM STEPH!!

I actually heard some new music at times during the sex scenes. There was a really neat score that played in the EJ/Nicole scenes during the second act that I enjoyed. I don't think we are supposed to be paying attention to the score anyway LOL.

It makes me laugh that some have a problem with sex in any form when last year there was thread after thread of people asking where all the love/sex scenes are? I hate to break it to some of the people in this thread but people do have sex in public places, as gross as it sounds. It happens. Besides that, it's a soap and this kind of stuff has been going on for years. It won't cost them viewers because this is stuff that does happen on soaps occasionally. What will cost them viewers is if they do it too much, as is sex scenes happening too frequently, which I don't expect. The sex scenes may be for graphic but they have to be. Soaps need to modernize in some way and I like that Days has kind of gone the primetime route and are trying to be unique with love scenes.

Just wanted to add that I did like how they tossed in an ISA reference in the J&M scenes. Nice touch there.

You're right, Tim, about the music in the second act. My husband's comment was during the first scene. You're also right about sex in public places. What about the mile high club I have heard about? That's pretty public I guess. :o

I have no problem with sex scenes/love scenes... and I would sound quite hypocritical since I was one of the people that were royally pissed that J&M's love scene didnt air lol. It isn't the elevator sex scenes themselves that bothered me. It was CHLOE and LUCAS's scenes that bother me... it was just NASTY! I mean the way he shoved Chloe's face into the wall like he was wanting her to "bend over and pick up the soap" it was just :x

Dang it, Phoenix. How many more times do I have to bow to your great posts? :hail: I especially agree with the first sentence. I read that over and over on boards "There aren't enough sex scenes". Golly, I have READ really graphic fanfic and comments about what John could do to Marlena on boards which was worse than this was. Remember conference tables? I can't possibly see how Sami walking in on that could be any worse than the elevator scenes. Maybe it's just cause it's not happening with the "right" couples. ;)

Christian and Talia's love scenes on OLTL were just about on the same level. In the diner? Yeah, it happens. Sorry, off my soapbox now. :soapbox:

I'd invite you to watch the J&M story leading up to their making love on the plane and in the conference room (and those scenes themselves), and then compare it to the Lucas/Chloe and EJ/Nicole "stories" leading up to the elevator sex. John and Marlena started feeling a renewed attraction to each other around July 1992, and that slowly intensified until February 1993 when they made love.

And your fanfic comparison is an apt one. I don't read fanfics from other fanbases, so I can only speak for J&M, but sure, some fanfic authors do seem to want to get their couple into bed at the first opportunity. I personally don't prefer that style of writing. But that's exactly what Higley's doing here. It's a perfect comparison imo - the elevator scenes are like a poorly written fanfic. She just wants the new "couples" in bed (or in the elevator, as the case may be) in the shortest amount of time possible. I think she's sacrificing what could be actual stories to do this, and that's why I said these scenes seemed like gratuitious sex.

A few months ago, it was the production values and the direction for the show and the actors that kept me watching through the horrible writing. But now, that's not even grabbing my attention. I didn't even watch soaps at 3 yesterday because I was bored with DAYS, and nothing on GH was exciting to me. The last time I was this bored with DAYS was summer of 2003, five years ago. Who was writing then? Dena Higley. She just can't draw my attention when she's writing DAYS. When she was at OLTL, she got my attention and really made me a fan of the show. With DAYS, she's ruining my enjoyment of my favorite soap ever.

Thank God I have my own DAYS fan fic so that I can still feel connected to the characters of Salem without actually having to watch the bullshit that's being played on screen.

Um, who knew Chloe was capable of being funny?....Intentionally?

I only caught the ending of today's show but I must say, she made me LMAO. Watching Chloe hysterical, screaming and dramatically shooting out of the elevator to throw herself on the rescue crew...Nadia's voice was actually cracking. CRACKING, like a boy going through puberty. I just know later today I'll be having a serious conversation with someone, zone out, and then break out laughing at the thought of that scene.

Y'all are too funny!
I may be an elevator sex virgin, but I wasn't quite sure how they were going to have sex in an elevator other than bare back on the floor. The "picking up the soap" option was another viable one for me...and that is what I would do so I didn't have to see Chloe's acting!
I guess if your man can pick you up and hoist you around for a half hour, then that works too. Another reason to just drool over James Scott. I was wondering why elevator designers put that little waist high bar around the elevator...now I know! Ew!
It was slightly graphic...didn't want to watch with the youngin's in the room...but I was one of those complaining that we had too many bombs last season and not enough hankie pankie, so I am happy to see a hot love scene in an elevator...it was a decent set up.

Just as aside, I was at the beach on the gulf coast last week and witnessed two people "riding the waves" with each other in some shallow surf. Hell yeah, people do it in public all the time! Usually just takes a bottle of champange! What was Lucas and Chloe's excuse? :)

No invitation necessary. I've seen it. It squicked me out, especially with poor Sami. Sorry. Conference table sex ain't my thing. As for my fanfic comparision, it was aimed at certain people who then turn around and complain about sex by other couples. I wasn't comparing the EJole love scene to that at all. There were feelings and tender moments in this one. IT's being kudoed by a lot of people, EJ fans included.

At least with the conference table sex, it lead to much bigger and much better story. There was a purpose for it, in the grand scheme of things. The Lucas/Chloe and E.J./Nicole elevator sex, on the other hand, I feel, was just thrown in for the hell of it, more or less.
