I don't think you'd say anything good about Dena's writing if someone had a gun to your head. :D
What good is there to say about it?
Wow, Mason, I don't KNOW!!!! Seems like there are posters here who have found something good. Hmmm. ;)
Well, I'm not one of them. I can't think of ONE good thing about Higley's writing. Not one. I knew DAYS was screwed the minute I read that she had been rehired last fall, and she's only proving me right. If you ask me, this hack is among the top 10 worst writers in soap history. She shouldn't be writing a cafeteria menu, much less a soap!

Hey, I have a negative thing to say!! I HATED Sami's top!! :D

After all... tomorrow is another day!

Sami's top was really awful. I really haven't been liking her outfits at all lately, and I haven't commented on it because I thought maybe I was just being catty because I don't like the character of late, but yeah that was really bad.

I was however pleased for whatever reason that Ali or the wardrobe people chose to put Sami in that black dress with the same necklace on that she wore at her and EJ's wedding. Of course Nicole would have no idea that it was similar to Sami's wedding attire and I don't even know exactly what the heck it was supposed to mean, but I liked it.

Other thoughts on today's epi:

Loved loved loved the transition from Sami blathering that Lucas would never get caught dead doing some tramp in an elevator to... him doing some tramp in an elevator. While there's a lot wrong with the Ejamicas triangle the only thing that ever was right about it was that involved three incredibly flawed characters so anything that knocks Lucas off Sami's pedestal is a winner with me.

The rest of the episode I could really take or leave. I know prevuze joked that the Max flashback was the longest ever but I didn't realize until watching it that I don't think that was hyperbole.

And lastly, could someone explain whatever reference Chloe used to explain the hysterics she was going to put on before they got out of the elevator. I didn't hear/understand it when I saw some clips yesterday and I didn't understand it watching the epi tonight and so it just caused my mind to drift back to those old SNL Mary Katherine Gallagher sketches where Mary Katherine would randomly spout off monologues from Lifetime movies of aggrieved women and somehow I don't think that's quite what DOOL was going for.

Doug and Julie SHOULD be the new Tom and Alice. Sadly, the writers don't seem to want to put them in that position, even though, they kind of are.

Mickey and Maggie are being badly wasted. I never expected a true story for them but at least use them a bit more substantially now that we have Mickey again who actually looks like he COULD be paired with Maggie (no offense to John Ingle but he was miscast).

Just want to touch on Drew and Lady of the Lake's posts.

I agree wholeheartedly that those who don't like what they are seeing should speak up but I do think some (not all) do it in a way that gets kind of annoying and actually ruins the enthusiasm some do have for the show. I hate to be specific but I will. Take Kenny and Drew. They both clearly dislike what they are seeing yet you don't see them every day going on and on about disliking what they are seeing. They pop into the weekly discussion thread and spoiler threads from time to time, voice their opinion, and leave it at that unless someone responds to them or something. In other words, they don't keep going on and on about how awful it is and don't come off like they want those who are liking the show to be just as miserable as they are. That is what bugs me, personally, and I think it bothers others too. I think we all want both positive and negative opinions posted because that is what makes a message board. It creates debate and discussion. It just should never be overbearing.

Now, to briefly touch on Lady of the Lake's post, she was clearly teasing but I do agree that for some, even if Dena did write something good some would not mention it or would just ignore it. I really do think that and I can't say I blame them. The woman's first stint and all of May and half of June gives them plenty of justification not to. I hope I'm wrong and that when she does write something good, she will be given credit but who knows. It doesn't matter. Those that enjoy it, great. I will enjoy it with you. Those that don't, just as well. Don't stop posting. Your entitled to post whatever your opinion is.

Anyway, on to today.

Someone needs to pray for me because I actually liked the Stax scenes today...at least until they started kissing but I digress. I just love little stuff like Stephanie mentioning her feelings when her father was presumed dead and also mentioning how Max may want to talk to Bo given the way he learned Victor was his father. Good stuff. The flashback was atrocious. Clearly, something was rewritten or they just wanted filler. Whatever the case, a flashback that long should not be allowed. Did like seeing the Roman/Max interaction too. Didn't mind the Green talk as it was related to the Blackout.

The Salem Inn stuff was great. The EJ/Nicole love scenes at the beginning were great. Loved Nicole's fantasy. I like fantasies like that. They're fun. Ari looked great in the wedding dress. I just love the EJ/Nicole stuff. Good writing and execution. You can tell there is a solid direction here. In fact, the whole show feels like it has a direction again. Finally. The last few episodes or so I find myself enjoying everything, even stuff like Stax which I usually don't like. Hope this keeps up.

Also enjoyed Chloe today. She was hysterical. Nadia seemed energetic today. She works much better when she is over the top. Loved Sami's reaction to catching EJ and Nicole. Just really enjoying the Sami/EJ/Nicole stuff and her finding Lucas was good too. Nice end to the show with Lucas being taken.

Clam Egan, a former Passions writer, wrote the script today and it was decent. I really liked the line Chloe had in the elevator after she talked into the intercom and Lucas asked her why she told them to rush and she said something. Can't recall what but I loved the line and her delivery of it.

I also noticed the lighting today and even tomorrow seems a bit like last Fall's darker lighting, which I like. Hope they keep that.

I know you're talking about me here (you might as well just come out and say it), so I'll go ahead and respond. First of all, I'll post whatever I damn well please about the show, good or bad, and I'll thank you and anyone else not to vilify me for doing so. Second, don't make me responsible for whether or not you enjoy the show. That's all you. Third, just like you may find my "overbearing negativity" annoying, it's equally annoying to read practically nothing but unconditional praise for a show, to the point of cheerleading. Until now, I haven't complained about that, at all.

Mason, anyone can post anything they so please as far as I am concerned, but that doesn't mean its still not annoying to read just about everyday that the show sucks, Dena sucks, and so on. That's my 2 cents on the matter.

Mason, I'm not going to mention whether I was talking about you or not. It's not right but I digress.

I wasn't saying that those that do that bother me. However, I do know it bothers others. Anyway, your entitled to post what you want. I was just touching on the points of other posters. That's it.

As for my being positve, look back at my posts. For most of May and half of June, I was quite down on the show. I just tend to note some things I did enjoy as well. Call me weird but even when the show has been at it's worst, I still found something to enjoy and post about it. Alot of my enjoyment of Days stems from it being the show I've watched since the early 80's. Hell, I sometimes enjoy seeing a character just walk into a room. It's just the way I am. If you think it's cheerleading, that's fine. It's not. I just genuinely like what I like. If it's annoying, I'm sorry. I should note that if someone likes something, they usually don't shut up about it. Take a look at the OLTL threads here and at SON. Some seem to praise everything down to the last detail, even if it's a filler episode. That doesn't seem to bother people.

I'm don't have a problem with you or anyone else expressing a negative view. Hell, I've barely called anyone out on it, at least not under Higley. If anything, when I have responded to your posts, it was in a way where I expressed a different view about a story or something. I just think expressing positive views over and over is different then negative ones. Of course if you like something you will go on and on about it but why go on and on about something you feel nothing but disappointment over? That is why I specifically mentioned Kenny and Drew. They dislike the current state of the show but they don't go on and on about it. I'm not saying you or anyone else has to do that. Not everyone is the same. It was just me touching upon some of the points made and expressing my view of it. That's all. No offense meant but if you did take offense, I apologize.

Mason, this is a soap message board, I have other things in life to actually worry about as I am sure you do as well. I was just saying its annoying to read over and over that Dena sucks, we get it! I actually LOL at many of your posts, just not in the DAYS threads(well even some of those). Why would you apologize anyway? I know I won't apologize for posts I make.

Forgot to add, I also want Higley gone. I am not sure who could be really good at DAYS with Corday's dumbass, but Higley just isn't getting it done.

 I'm sorry I started this. It really was a teasing jab, and I'm sorry it came across wrong. I'll just have to be more selective with my teasing next time........... I just can't sweep a blanket dislike on a writer and shut off any hope. I find something to like about every writer, Reilly, Hogan, Higley, whoever. But it's all good.
OK, I thought of another negative thing.....I still don't like Chan. (or was that Monday? I watched both recordings consecutively yesterday). I cannot imagine anything that will make me like them. Just doesn't work. I can't wait to find out the whole Kate thing. Actually, i do know the spoiler, but there has to be more to it than just a past fling.
Phoenix, I can't go as far as saying I enjoy STAX, but I will say I enjoyed Stephanie and Max. (Make sense?) In other words, I liked the friendly, FRIEND style discussion. I'm still trying to get over the romance.
I'm kinda liking the whole Max/Trent/sister hunt and loved Sticky Fingers Nick the other day when he lifted Trent's cell phone. More Nick, please.
IF the whole idea is to de-Brady Max so that Stephanie and Max can be together, I think it would be a lot more palatable if they de-Brady'ed Max FIRST, and put them together later. Much like Shawn and Belle finding out they weren't really cousins. Except, of course, they could have been with the whole Jawn thing had Bo really been a Brady. OK, this hurts my head to think about it..................

My two cents.....I visit this message board all the time but don't post alot because I don't have much to say but I love reading everyone else posts.

Phoenix, I always love the postive things you say in every post. Very insightful.

Mason, I love your posts as well, I find them hilarious.

Ladyofthelake, I love your posts and agree with you majority of the times. I love your spin on things. You need to run for a polilitical office. LOL

LOL!!! No thanks. In real life, I really have a thin skin. I'd probably break down and cry at the first insult! :D
But, thank you for the compliment. ;)
(Now that my secret's out.....)
I'll catch up with you guys later. Gotta go to the chiropractor and see if he can straighten me out...........

There were part of yesterday's and Monday's show that I thought were good but other parts that were a trainwreck. I am sick and tired of the lectures on energy consumption, going green and blah, blah, blah. Seriously if I wanted that I'd watch and Inconvient Truth (which I loved) again. I don't need this lecturing from my soap!

I loved the EJ and Nicole scenes, those two can get to each other on a level we haven't seen in a while and hope they don't throw the pairing over to promote EJami with their twisted and manipulative story. Funny, I loved what went on in one elevator while the other turned my stomach. Lucas and Chloe can have each other at this point as long as they do it off screen. Both these characters and Sami are not faring well at all under Higley. Then again, Chloe never fared well at all under any writer.

The John and Marlena stuff was pretty good because I'm at least starting to see his point of it. Ava is annoying me though, right along with Dr. Holier than thou Evans.

I have always seen Johns point but it still doesn't mean he has to be a DICK WAD! As for John, Marlena and Crazy Eyes... they are ALL annoying me lmao ;)

I found yesterdays show to be rather meh. The Chloe/Lucas/Sami/EJ/Nicole drama was great but the Stax scenes was truly awful. I'm getting rather sick of Max whining every single episode.

Chloe was referring to a famous opera diva named Kathleen Battle (or maybe it's Katherine, can't remember for sure), who is well known for her dramatic backstage tantrums.

Hey Lady, I agree with you most of the time, I also agree with Mason, Kenny DrewH and Phoenix. All of the assessments of the show are right at least half of the time :D Just wanted to comment on your statement regarding de-Bradying Max - If that is what they are trying to do, yesterday's scene with Roman at the pub shouldn't have happened. Did you notice when he came into the pub he said "Hi little brother" to Max? And then Stephanie said "Hi, Uncle Roman? The writers need to make up their minds on who they want Max to be. And he needs to stop whining. I though Chloe was actually pretty good at the end of the elevator scene. Other than that, not so much. Sami needs different clothes. And please cut the flashbacks. I may be old, but my memory isn't that bad that I can't remember what happened a few weeks ago.
