Man, and that was only for 4 days, since Friday was a holiday. I remember watching DOOL in the 80's and early 90's- the summer was at a fever pitch. I miss those days.(Jack/Jennifer, Bope, Steve&Kayla, Shane&Kim) those were the days. |

Days only counted 3 days. They have for the week of the 4th for several years now. They were preempted for Wimbeldon for 2 days. |

I think that is a new low for Y&R too - now that I think about it. So that would be ATWT, Days & Y&R possibly hitting new lows this week. |

Man, I kinda with Days would've hit a 1.5, just so it could've been in last place. I would've loved that. I bet Higley gets the axe this week! :) |

Toups just posted this news: There's no weekly ratings for DAYS because Mon-Wed were coded as specials. Weird. There's only dailies for DAYS. ATWT is last in 18-49 with a 0.8!!! Yikes! |

So Days gets no official rating. I wonder why they coded all of Days as specials this week when the others counted them. |

Higley can get the axe, but it's not going to change. It's all Corday. I met someone in the industry who bluntly broke down for me how things work in the industry and the EP's have almost all of the creative control. The writers just take the ideas and break them down as far as the writing goes. I don't think that is how it always was, but it's how it is now. :( |

I expected much worse for Days. I really did. I was actually thinking a 1.4, especially after how horrible some of the episodes in June did during all the golf. I think it is a new low but it's no surprise and I really think it sets them up to rebound well next week. They should have no problem getting back to a 1.9 at least IMO. I'm more shocked by the sharp drop of ATWT. I know it's in trouble and it's a holiday week but I didn't expect a drop like that. The rest of the drops I saw coming because of the holiday and all. This is all still depressing though. Just awful. Hopefully, we see better next week. I think we will with Days but I hope for the others to see rebounds too. |

I think Y&R are .1 away from their all time low Not shocked about ATWT- getting rid of Scott bryce and Martha Bryne were not smart, especially breaking up Carly/Jack and Lily/Holden..stupid Edited by Charmqn, Jul 11 2008, 02:20 PM.

No Mike it has always been that way. Douglas Marland said the same thing about Allen Potter at GL and about Gloria Monty at GH. It probably wasn't so much when Irna Phillips started but even Lucy Ferri Rittenburg - long time GL producer had to veto some of Irna's stuff and worked to get her fired from GL in the 60's. The EP has always been in charge of the show - from the time the shows were created. It is just some are easier to get along with than others. But even some of the Y&R writers didn't get along with Edward Scott and said he interfered too much. |
