A BOLD Promotion
BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL scribe Kay Alden will now share the title of head writer with Executive Producer Bradley Bell. Alden had written for YOUNG AND RESTLESS since 1974 and was let go in 2006, but snapped up by B&B. Both shows were created by Bell's parents William and Lee Bell. Their son was a former writer for Y&R and was named associate producer of B&B in 1989, then supervising producer in 1992. The following year, Bell took over head writing reins from his dad and also became executive producer in 1995.

||Should have just made her sole HW.|

||It's similar to why Ed Scott can never become sole executive producer at DAYS the sons of the creators are there so unless they chose to leave we will never be rid of them.|

||I think this SUCKS. I hated B&B when Kay Alden wrote during the strike. I don't know what prompted this change, but I am so not happy about it. B&B needed a change but NOT Kay Alden becoming a headwriter.|

|I'm with you Alvin. Not good news at all|

|Alden's style is all wrong for B&B. Her writing is too dark and Logan-centric, and that doesn't fit B&B at all. Not to mention, the show was unwatchable during the strike when she was the Head Writer.|

GET EM STEPH!!
I love Alden but B&B has fallen apart since Storm's suicide and I have to wonder if this is a bad idea since this isn't working really IMO. I doubt Alden has much influence, at least not of late and with Brad Bell there it's doubtful she ever will.
