There are times when John looks like he has hemorrhoids delivering his lines. It's wooden, it's choppy, and it's not John.

Then again, it's not supposed to be.

I for one am getting tired of the story (and I'm not even a J&M fan! lol), but I am happy to see that old John and new John are going to go at it. Marlena/Samantha should be interesting to watch too. When I first heard this news about Samantha I went "wait one damn minute..." but the way they're actually doing it is interesting.

So Drake wants to stay as New John, that is interesting to me. I also like that we'll probably see James as Santo (again) in the hallucinations. Don't throw things at me, but I'm liking this shit! :tounge:

I got to hand it to them... it sounds quite interesting lol. How its written, well that is another matter lmao.

I am looking forward to this whole Stefano/Marlena thing. However I tend to read between the lines. Does this mean that it is going to be Marlena's turn to be in a drug induced coma? I know MANY people who would LOVE that lol, but not me. And not just because it is Marlena, but because it was a sl that was just done, and it was such a waste.

I actually have no problem with the new John sticking around as long as the character grows and doesn't stay a soulless dickhead. ;)

Also, I saw where Deidre said she has never played a duel role... didn't she play Hattie? Perhaps she meant a duel role where both characters interacted.

I am not happy about this happening to my fave chick either, but Marlena is the strongest chick I know, she can overcome anything that Stefano throws at her, without Deidre DOOL would not be DOOL.

Tammy that's scary, lol, I was just coming in to post that idea. The Hattie episodes in 2004 were just Hattie with Marlena in a hospital bed at the end, and the 1992 Samantha vision in the pit was a sleeping Marlena hallucinating about Samantha. (I think there was some dialogue from Marlena then, but she was sleeping and there was no interaction.) I wonder if we're going to get to see Marlena and Samantha interacting. That'd be cool!

LMAO well that is the only way it makes any sense, because she has played duel roles. So perhaps we get Marlena / Sam "interaction". Should be interesting, providing that it is written well Posted Image

But it'll be acted well, in any case.

I'm happy that Samantha isn't alive. I'd hate to see such a horrible rewrite. Samantha's death is a major part of history.

Wow, Stephen and Mary Beth better watch out; I can't believe they TOTALLY called out Dena for the lack of Ava aftermath.

And this Sam thing... wow. I gotta leave work to read more!

Well, I don't care at all about Marlena's storyline (no surprise there) but I'm tickled pink about Drake's storyline, that he wants to STAY new Jawn (YAHOOOOOO, THANK YOU DRAKE) and that he is going to have more scenes with James, but this time as son and father, LOL! I'm also excited about the "two Johns" scene.

Sorry for the FREAK out, but Sam was one of my FAVORITE CHARACTERS IN THE HISTORY OF DAYS!

Thank you Jesus, Joseph and Mary Samantha's not really alive!

I'm sorry, but it would just be STUPID. And the only reason it would be shocking is because it would be coming completely out of NOWHERE. I mean, how hard is it to just pull something like this out of your ass? Not that difficult.

I don't care how many times it's been done before. Doesn't matter to me. No more back-from-the-dead stories on DAYS, again.

Okay guys I knew this was too good to be true. Samantha is NOT coming back. In Sara Bibel's latest blog entry she reveals what truly will happen.

Here's the link: Sara Bibel Blog

There a couple more spoilers as well.

So it's only for a few episodes? Damn it!

As for Stefano drugging Marlena into a coma... DAMN IT! That means we're gonna get Marlena sitting in a bed with her eyes closed for weeks... probably months... while she hallucinates about Samantha one or two episodes every couple of weeks. I can see it already, and I don't like it. It'll be just like John's coma of 2007.

GET EM STEPH!!

^I doubt they will do that with Marlena. It's likely Stefano is going to put her through a greater hell.

It seems Stefano may be drugging all of his enemies. Marlena imagines Samantha and Drake says that John will also have hallucinations and who knows who else. This reminds me a bit of Sunset Beach's Terror Island where people were drugged and began hallucinating and seeing things. I like it. Stefano is mad as hell and I could see him doing something like this because he wants to put his enemies through the ringer.

That's pretty sad that Stephen and Mary Beth had to go to the producers and ask them to speak to the writers about writing these scenes. That's how you can tell that Dena Higley and her team don't care about the characters' growth. They go from plot to plot to plot. Nothing changes for the characters. She's a hack and so is her team.
My thoughts exactly. Higley should be unemployed for life for ruining this show.

There was picketing outside the studio and the switchboards were jammed. Hospitals called saying they had to give patients tranquilizers to calm them down, because they thought Marlena was killed.

Posted Image
Now THAT is sad......having to be tranquilized because of a soap character.
Well, at least they're not bringing Samantha back, although I enjoyed Andrea Hall-Lovell (her name at the time). I'm dinosaur enough to remember that!
And fenderbabe, I feel for ya, honey. I feel your pain and share it, although, at least, it'll be short. I have the comfort to know I can watch the other characters, LOL.

Did anyone else read the rest of the spoilers on the page?

John will be having hallucinations too and will imagine a ten year old Stefano, his father, and will come face to face with the Old John. That sounds AMAZING. I bet Stefano's revenge is that he drugs Marlena and those who left him behind and took advantage of his absence. I bet he targets Tony, Lexie, and EJ too for leaving him in the hospital. I can't wait for all this.
Doesn't this stuff sound vaguely reminiscent of the plans that OLTL had for their 40th anniversary? Hallucinating, going to heaven, meeting the past dead and all that stuff? Just too coincidental for me.

I'm going to give my thoughts of each section.

Steve and Kayla Finally Talk About His Almost-Sex With Ava
For months, fans have been clamoring for Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) to have a conversation about his nearly cheating on her with Ava (Tamara Braun). The show listened. Says Evans, Ē[Monday] we finally have our big Ďcome to ití meeting. We have a chance to say whatís going on and in our hearts. It needed to be done.Ē According to Nichols, ďIt wasnít planned. We went to the producers and asked them to speak to the writers. ď Evans elaborated. ďFor a married couple thatís been together as long as we have and has our kind of love, this would not go unaddressed. In the beginning it was dealt with so lightly anyway. Thatís a pretty devastating thing. Hopefully, the scenes will air and everyone will like them.Ē Nichols feels, ďThereís a tendency in soap operas when they write a story to go from Point A to Point B and then itís over. But they donít deal with the residual effects on the characters. ď

Drake Hogestyn On John Black version 6.72
Drake Hogestyn (John Black) is enjoying snarky amnesiac John as much as the fans are. ďPlaying him takes a lot of homework. The new John comes from an emotionally void place. Heís got twelve different characteristics that I base the character on. Itís nice to play someone who is emotionally void and can therefore say anything he wants. He has different diction, different mannerisms. The good thing about that is I have scenes coming up where the new John interacts with the old John. There is such a differentiation between the two. Iíve been working hard on it. Iím embracing it. Thereís going to be a vehicle that will cause him to do a little bit of hallucinating. He will see Stefano as a ten year-old boy. He will see his father. When those two people canít convince him of the error of his ways, he will turn around and run into his old self. He will have a battle of light and dark, good and evil. It will be very interesting. Right now the new John does not want to be compared to the old John. If Blondie [Marlena] can ever see him for who he is now, thereís a chance they can move forward. If not, they wonít. I want to stay New John. Just like all the other characters Iíve played in the course of 23 years, I go through a metamorphosis Ė the Pawn to John Black to Roman to Forrest Alamain. This one has more distinguishable features. He has a long way to climb to build his own emotional levels. Heís going to make mistakes. Heís only eight months old. I play it like a coal miner trapped in the ground. People are banging on pipes trying to hear if thereís a response. All of a sudden they think they hear something, but they donít know for sure. Thatís how this guy is. ď

This is actually interesting. I'm glad we're going to see John fighting with his old self. And it's going to be interesting to see Santo again, and a young Stefano. It doesn't surprise me that Drake likes new John more than the old John. You can tell. He has come to life so much in his acting since this story started. Before, it looked like he was starting to phone in his lines. And thats never a good thing.

These two things make me VERY happy. I'm glad they're finally addressing the whole Steve/Kayla/Ava thing so all three can go on (it's WEEKS behind) AND I'm tickled Drake loves his nuJAwn, cause I love him, too!!
