Since we do not have any news, lets discuss whether we would want Dena to remain fired or get her job back. Whether her writing has been changed recently or not, I have to say that I have not been pleased with Days since March or April. January and February were fabulous and I watched entire shows. March Bo got sick and the show got depressing because everyone was at the hospital, Chelsea was all about "wo is me", John was bribing Paul, and Ava was stalking Hope and Steve. Then Steve and Hope are kidnapped and we got to see disgusting flashbacks of Steve and Ava making out daily for two weeks straight while Kayla and Bo stayed in the hospital. Then we got the ailing Brady's daring rescue of their spouses.
While I stuck around for all of this, this was not the best story. Meanwhile J&M stalled and were thrown into Ejami immigration woes. Marlena went out of town and came back. There were three kisses for us J&M fans between our couple, but they never talked or anything else. Ejami got close. All of this happened in March, April and beginning of May.
May Sweeps arrives in Mid month and all hell broke loose. John is arrested. Marlena leaves town again. Sami makes love to EJ. Lucas gets out of jail. Catches Ejami in bed. Chelsea is in love with Dan and he loves her. Payla disaappear. Bope disappear and then show up in a greening commercial. Max was a genius that was adopted and then is angry because his father is back and he loves Stephanie. John starts dating Ava. Tanna just show up onscreen married.
The show was moving at a crawl in March and April so that Hope was kidnapped for two weeks and only Bo kept asking where she was. Kayla was in the hospital as long as Bo was and he had life saving surgery while she had cramps. The show took a turn for the off the wall, and IMO, for the worst with the topsy turvy love matches. This show is awful and has been for a while. Dena should still be fired, no matter what is going on behind the scenes with the current scripts. The ones she wrote and thought were good, were indeed atrocious.

I hope King is alright! I know he felt it. He's two miles from the BB house and they felt it there. It made the fishies shake, LoL. He said he was heading to an interview, so he was probably on the road...

It demands that whoever the non-Guild members are to stop writing the show or legal action will take place. It's a legal warning.
And where was this guild during the strike? I smell a rat.
Um - they were heading up a strike? And investigating scabs (which they still are). And trying to work out a deal with the AMPTP. I'm not sure I understand the question.
I'm questioning the priorities of the guild. The strike has been over for months yet they are still investigating? At this rate Days could be off the air before there is a resolution to this. Sounds more like a don't ask don't tell policy than anything else. Its a cop out for WGA to say they didn't have time to deal with the scabs during the strike because they were heading up a strike, its their job to do both so if they are going to penalize Days for this, they sure as hell better do it for their behavior during the strike.
Sorry. I understand your question now. Yeah, they were investigating scabs, and they certainly still are. It takes a long time to collect evidence and build cases against people. Many of the people busted in the '88 strike weren't actually relived of their jobs until '89 or '90. Right after strikes end, everyone keeps any kind of evidence under lock and key, but after months/years pass, things get more relaxed. People get careless. And evidence winds up in the WGA's hands. It's also not a public investigation, so most times, we don't hear about it out here in audience-land. Someone just quietly loses their job a year later, just like any other fired writer, and nobody ever questions why. Does that answer your question? Its curiuos how during the strike Days hid behind the pretense of wanting to save the show but isn't that what ES and his pal are doing, if they in fact doing what they are being accused of? Days is losing viewers on a weekly basis yet its okay for Days to ignore the strike then and now cry foul. Something is foul alright.

The ones she wrote and thought were good, were indeed atrocious. After listening to what Tom C had to say in his radio interview, I feel that my feelings about the show were validated. Everything has been out of sorts, s/l's going around in circles, and it's all because the TPTB can't stop acting like babies. It will be a wonderful day when they start to realize it's not all about them and what they want. There are too many fans of Days to write such jibber that could kill the show.

Just had a 5.8 earthquake in Southern CA -- felt all over the area. Epicenter is around Chino Hills. No damage reports yet I hope everyone is ok and there is minimal damage. 5.8 is nothing to sneeze at.

Well, the difference is, there was a strike going on. All writers are required to either A ) Strike, B ) Go fi-core, or C ) scab and pray you don't get caught. Soaps are the only genre that KEEP GOING during a strike, and don't shut down production. They're too afraid they'll lose their audience if they shut down altogether because people will get out of the habit. Once the strike ends, everybody goes back to work. Scabs are investigated. And make no mistake, Days has been investigated for the last six months about the actions they took (as well as other daytime soaps. Days isn't the only one). But the same secrecy around the strike period continued during a period when secrecy wasn't warranted. There were proper channels that were ignored. Now, who knows who brought this to the guild's attention. Whoever it was allegedly had access to scripts and outlines and proof. If it was someone from Dena's camp, they risked handing over a script that might damn Dena from the strike period. If it was someone from Ed's camp, they also risked the same thing. If it was someone from Corday - maybe they want both of them gone. There's no way to know. But you're so right - it will be very interesting to see the guild's take on this once the dust settles. If Dena DOES lose her job, she's lost most of her credibility in the industry anyway because of all of this scandal (and her bad track record). So if she never works again, we won't know if it's because of that, or if it's because of something the WGA has done. Same with Ed. He might "resign" because of all of this, and if he works again, he works again. If he gets fined, we'll never know. If he doesn't work, we won't know if it's because the guild has stopped him from getting hired, or if people just don't want to hire him after the scandal. it's all information we'll never be privy to, unfortunately.
