LOL When I first read the quake, this is what came to my mind - JER has landed at DOOL. LMAO Glad you're okay, btw. I'm sure King is fine. He better be. |

My son just called me and said he was driving in L.A. and thought he was in a car crash for a sec. because the whole car seemed to be spinning. But it wasn't, it was an earthquake and the office buildings were swaying and some were popping glass. So I think it's safe to say that everybody is going to take the rest of the day off. Office buildings evacuated, etc. Don't know where the studio is located. But I think people are going to stop work. We may sadly hear no new gossip for today. |

The post above about the scabbing issue. When the soaps went on during the strike back in 1988, it was stated in one of the mags that it would surprise fans at how many of the soap opera writers scabbed during that strike. It was the only way the soaps survived. I know that recently more has come out but even back then there were rumors of people ordering food at a fast food restaurant, sticking scripts in bags, and having them delivered to the studio. People would drop them off in trash dumpsters and so many other things. If Dena scabbed she is not the first one to do it. I am told some of the names of the ones who scabbed would surprise everyone. Of course with Dena she is hated so that just gives more ammunition to throw at her. Plus fans who loved Hogan feel that it is the reason he got fired, but truth be told Hogan's days were probably numbered with or without Dena. And if he had told corday that he was going to go fi-core or was willing to Corday may have not had to go into cahoots with Dena anyway. I am not excusing anything that she did, but it is no worse than what Donna Swajeski did to Harding Lemay. And truth be told there are so many other rumors out there of writers who possibly did similar things to get their jobs. Scabbing goes on. Backstage politics go on. It happens. Sometimes you get caught and sometimes you don't. |

Hope King is ok, but Can someone fill me in on what the big news was? It is VERY hard to go through all these pages and try to find the big event/happenings. What's so shocking and what is the aftermath for the viewers? |

I would think gossip is the least of our worries now. There are posters on this board who might have been caught in that earthquake. I certainly think it warrants more attention that this little news blurb about Dena's probable temper tantrum and revenge and ass cover-up, which to me, is what this is stacking up to be. Anyone in the know re the earthquake, please keep us posted...... |

Is it safe anywhere in USA? I always read about you guys having natural disasters over there. Earthquakes on the west coast, hurricanes in southern, snowstorms on the east cost, tornados in the midwest. I know it's a big country but still, it sounds scary, hope everyone are okey. |

Well, my thing with earthquakes is the spontaneity of it....not knowing when or where. Whereas with most other natural disasters, at least you get a heads up. ;) Edited by Pearly, Jul 29 2008, 02:58 PM.

Hard to tell anymore.....I actually know of posters on boards who will be pissed off because a national news break interrupted their soap opera. As well as posters who would be pissed because an earthquake would delay backstage gossip. Speaking of safe places in the US...the Midwest isn't bad if you can overlook floods.................. |
