Why not just post it from the start? Why tease us? Sometimes I want them to cancel Days so it can end with at least some dignity.
It's entirely possible that his source simply told him not to release the full story until Monday. It sounds like Nelson didn't know the full aspect of this story when he first posted about it, hence the "this is much bigger than I originally thought" line.

As for Days being cancelled. I feel the same way. I don't want it to be discontinued by any means, but at the same time, I don't want to watch it drift further and further down the tubes, either. It's too upsetting to watch, and at some point you just have to say sayonara. It's like a loved one on life support. You can only watch them suffer and get worse for so long before finally deciding to pull the plug and let go.

That said, I'd love for Corday to hire some miracle savior and pull the show from its shitty depths, and deep down I still hope that it'll happen one day. For that reason alone, I'd be devastated if NBC actually cut the show free.

I really have a sinking feeling that Ed Scott's a goner. The moment it was announced he was joining Days, I knew it would end badly. He's too talented a man to not clash with the idiots at Days. I just hoped that it wouldn't go bad this quickly... ugh.

Is Higley married? Maybe Ed Scott phoned her husband and told him that Higley was fucking Corday or something, LoL.

Yeah. To Mark Christopher Higley, who was a script writer with her on Days, and then on OLTL. And he's the Fi-Core "writer" during the strike with Victor Gialanella.

LOL! Surely that wouldn't come as too much of a shock to him though.

OMG, Terry posted at the NBC boards that he was going to apply for the HW position and that he and Corday are best buds, so Corday will hire him. :drunk:

Just injecting a little humor (and SCI FI) into the situation....

The sad thing is, though, Corday probably would be stupid enough to hire him.

i dont know a whole lot about the different head writers, i know hogan couldnt cut it and neither could dena, the HH has never been lower...i just wish they could figure out what pairings the majority of the viewers want to see and write good stories for those pairings. its not rocket science is it??? there has to be a way for them to figure out what the majority of the fans want...and then listen to those fans...

I think it's less about who's paired with who and more about what kind of stories (or non-stories) they're telling.

Actually, that's part of the show's problem. The stories are written, then Corday listens too much to fan reactions, panics, then orders the writer to make changes. Happened with JER, with Hogan and probably with Higley.

The common denominator IS Corday. The problem IS Corday.

I just don't see Higley staying, even if Corday begged her. Look back at that blog entry were she was complaining and then look at the blog entry where she seemed very uncomfortable with the whole autism thing.

Then, when you consider her husband was released and then her best buddy, Victor G, was demoted while Rich Draughon, who wrote a web soap for NBC (which was a sign to me they may want Dena gone) was promoted...she has ample reason to be unhappy and want out, especially if she can't deal with criticism. I think it was a given this would end poorly because of the way it started with Hogan and co. being fired and Dena coming in to such bad PR and so on.

I would actually give Victor Gianella a chance. Yes, he is Higley's buddy but he did a nice job during the strike. It was when Dena and her team officially got going that things seem to really piss people off. However, it's probably better to just get a whole new crew in there.

I just hope Ed Scott isn't gone but I do agree with Kenny in that there was always this awful feeling things may end badly because Scott and Corday fall on different ends of the spectrum. The thing is that if he is gone, he takes all those fine directors and Noel Maxam with him. That and the cast loves him so they may take that as a sign that they should bolt. It could turn into a GL-like situation and I don't want that.

But unfortunately, there's no getting rid of him. So we have to go to the next best thing, which is getting rid of the hack in charge of writing the show (although in this case, Higley should never have been writing DAYS to begin with, Corday or no Corday).

I'm not going to lie - Coastal Dreams was shitty in a way since some of the episodes were very boring but it still had be hooked. The finale was off the hook. I freaking loved it. It was like JER writing good stuff. I really thought it was JER writing. LOL

It was a rip off from Passions. (The finale)

exactly. The obsessions with pairings are what has fucked over Days for so long.

if corday let ed scott go to be able to keep DH what a travesty that would be, but if he did, he probably did it to protect his own hide...dena was the one that crossed picket line to write for this show and as far as i can tell both corday and dena are still under investigation for it...no wonder he is trying to cling to her so tightly...

Exactly.

Not only that but alot of fans don't even know what they want so how can the show? That is the problem.

The show just needs to worry about telling good stories and hope for the best. Fans should always be listened too but there has to be a point where it needs to stop. You can't have it appear like fans are basically writing the show and defining every step the show takes. That is the job of the EP and writers. They should listen and consider what is being said and then act accordingly and what is best for the show. Sometimes that may mean a fanbase not getting what they want or whatever but it should always be about the best interest of the show first. The problem with Days is they try to please everyone and then they keep changing gears everytime they see fans protesting and the show becomes a watered down mess. That is why no matter who is brought in and how good they are, this situation will likely continue.
