I have to pause once again and say that I'm on Page 20 of the thread and have slowly started to--and there is NO other way of putting this nicely--shit in my pants. :drunk:

Nelson mentioned someone came close on page 36. So, let's look between his post that clarified that no one had guess right and the post in which he said someone was close. Maybe that will help LOL.

I know I mentioned Hogan being stolen back from Days and that perhaps ED wanted him back and helped to push Higley out the door. Perhaps Ed even did some unsavory things to get her out (maybe he complained to Sony as well). That is still my theory.

Nelson mentioned a scandal that happened last year on Days. What was that?
I don't think it has to do with casting. I think it has to do with Dena leaving, and Hogan returning. If it affects Y&R and Hogan is at Y&R, then I have it in my mind that since Corday is currently paying Hogan, he screwed over Y&R by holding Hogan to his contract....actually, I have no clue.
Although, I don't know why Days wouldn't be able to recover for that...
That's a good theory
ah rick this is so o/t, but i can't help saying this after seeing your sig...

i'm your only friend
i'm not your only friend, but i'm a little glowing friend.
but really, i'm not actually your friend
and i am...

Let's sing together luvpumpkns!!

I have a secret to tell
From my electrical well
It's a simple message and
I'm leaving out the whistles and bells
So the room must listen to me
Filibuster vigilantly
My name is blue canary
One note, spelled L-I-T-E
My story's infinite
Like the Longines Symphonette
It doesn't rest

I could see Stephen/Mary Beth going, other than a small story here or there(his amnesia/insanity back from 2006 and 2007), and then Ava, they basically do nothing. Of course they had the baby, but that was nothing big either.

Kristian/Peter...hmmm, if NBC forced Corday's hand for whatever reason, I might be able to see it, but they seem to be the vets that Corday most likes, just because while they do not ever have a story, they are normally always on, no matter under what HW.

U guys are all wrong; no one will guess this! Alas, I can't legally do anything until tomorrow. I would NEVER have guessed yesterday that this news story would go in this direction. My sources left out A LOT of facts originally, and to be fair I misunderstood what they were trying to imply because of a certain scandal last year. If you love irony, tomorrow you'll be drenched in it, but depressed. I want to put you all out of your misery, but I can't. And tomorrow, please don't shoot the messenger. It gets ugly... and I don't think Days will ever recover. Yes, it sounds like I'm teasing, but I'm not.... I really didn't know what I was getting myself involved with which has never happened before in my career. This makes Martha Byrne's departure seem like a love affair between her and ATWT! News story of the year, yes, but no one wants to deliver this kind of news. But I have to now. The news will be posted on an updated SUDS not Nelson Ratings because it doesn't belong there. I will however link to Suds in NR, and will delete the entire Suds entry I posted yesterday and revise it. Everyone just go about your lives today, because speculating isn't going to do anyone any good.
ok so if this is something that will depress us, it involves Y&R, and its ironic, i can only think hogan is returning...it all adds up.
thats what i thought when i posted this earlier...well a buddy in chat came up with the theory...it would be ironic if corday fired hogan only to be sued by hogan and now he is coming back to either take over denas spot or write with dena...it would affect Y&R, and it would be depressing to many daytime royalers from what i can tell have no appreciation for the hogan way of writing...all the pieces fit from what i can tell.

I really don't know if Hogan would even want to go back to DAYS (and I sure as hell wouldn't blame him if he didn't).

Not really, Rick.

Most of the fanbases seem to hate him and only enjoyed him early on and toward the end (and even then they nitpicked). I can see Hogan returning fitting with what Nelson said because we know Hogan and Corday dislike each other so that means more clashes and this would put Y&R in a lurch. plus, it symbolizes the sort of behind the scenes dissension that is helping to kill soaps so that could fit in with why this is so depressing. It would be ironic because Hogan was pushed out by Higley and Corday and now he is back, pushing Higley out.

Well as others have said about JER if Hogan comes back NBC or whoever gets a fuck you e-mail from me. And I am through with Days forever.

Hogan was just as bad as JER for Days IMO.

I know that angers folks around here, but for me he is right there with Higley, Langan, and JER as most hated and worst writers ever.

TRUST ME, NO ONE WILL GUESS THIS.
Why do I get the sinking feeling it has something to do with Ali Sweeney?! :drunk: :o

Toups at SON just posted this:

"Just a speculation.....I don't think it's any casting news.....I don't think JER is coming back....I don't think DAYS is getting canceled.

Ahhh...I'm not going to be online tomorrow when Nelson drops the bomb. I'm gonna miss all the action."

I know he says it's only speculation but I think everything we've heard points to this being more about an EP or writer then someone in the cast (unless an actor or actress is involved in a scandal with an exec or something). The waiting is killing me, especially now that we know Days isn't canceled. I have my theory and am sticking to it but I have to admit I'm still rather clueless as to what this could be as well.

I wouldn't say that angers anyone, really. For instance, I personally disagree, but I respect that that's your opinion, so it doesn't piss me off or anything, and I think that's the way it is for pretty much everyone else here.

Also, Nelson said this is the biggest story of the year. Well, if it ties back to the writer's strike and Days firing their whole team and Hogan, wouldn't Hogan returning kind of fit in with that and make this the "story of the year" and quite ironic?

It just seems to fit together now, which is why I'm going with this theory. We'll see tomorrow I guess LOL.

I GOT IT!!

NBC cut DAYS budget so bad that they are going the route of GL.

Handheld cameras, bad lighting, and extreme closeups of actors faces in which you can count the wrinkles and nosehairs.

God I hope not, Rick, but that would make sense.

I pray that isn't true. I really do. Then again, with Ed, he may be able to pull it off better.

Well whoever is either leaving Days or is coming to Days obviously Nelson doesn't think it is good because he says Days will never recover from this.

As much as he liked Hogan or seemed to like Hogan in his columns, I don't think he would say Days would never recover unless he thinks the fans hate him that bad.

So that is why I don't think it has to do with Hogan.

It just doesn't add up with what he said about Days not recovering from it.

For me that would be the case but I don't see Nelson thinking that.

The more I think about it, the more I think there's some big financial issue at the center of this. Sounds like the show could be gutted, as much as I hate to think it.
