i can't see higley and reilly working well together. their styles of story-telling aren't even close to being compatible.
Higley wrote breakdowns and scripts under Reilly for years. But yeah, I agree with you. They're not really compatible as equals.
i can see it now....our next big sweeps stories will be an alien abduction and an explosion at the hospital.
   I can see it now.

Thanks Kenny.....So HUGE and UGLY do stand for JER after all eh?

Yeah, I have to agree Dena is a shitty type of writer and JER is the shittiest type.

Isn't Ben Silverman the one making the call now? I didn't think Zucker was involved anymore, but I could be wrong. I can't keep them straight these days.
Zucker is still in charge of NBC-Universal, Silberman replaced Kevin Reilly as network head of NBC.
Exactly. Which leads me to believe this Reilly rumor is off. Corday wouldn't be meeting with Zucker. He'd be meeting with Silverman, and the new guy. (Frank?)
I don't think the rumor said anything about Zucker, all it mentioned was "NBC."

I can see it happening though, sadly.

The rumor did say that Corday met with Zucker.

I'm hoping to squash this quickly. A JER return would deflate the show to its death.

JER is still getting paid for one more year. If they're paying him anyway, and DOOL has one year left on its contract after the re-up.

Is Nelson going to post the link in a new thread or at the beginning of this thread?

I really want to reiterate that whatever the deal is with this Reilly rumor, Branco's update involves a lot more. I wouldn't put too much stock in anything until you read it in print, and even then I would recommend not jumping to conclusions. There's going to be lots of rumor and lots of spin from many different camps.

Yeah, and can DAYS really afford another high profile HW? Look how many they've had over the past deacde alone.

But really, I don't think it will happen when all is said and done. James E. Reilly must have one hell of a contract though...

Ugh, JER returning...just ugh, please let this rumor not be true. His first six months or so on the show were great, and I enjoyed some aspects from the end of 2004-2006, and he WAS getting just a bit better in his final couple months as HW(I enjoyed the Gloved Hand story under him, I felt Jan being the glove was a good one until it was changed, or was that the ghost writer?), but still, I don't think it'd be one of the best things for the show at all.

Jonatha pointed out to me that this rumor was just posted at Coffeerooms:

"You wont find this online yet, but I was just informed that NBC is once again wanting James E. Reilly to return to DAYS, and this is a huge reason as to why Dena Higley walked out. Before leaving for vacation, Corday was said to have met with Jeff Zucker to discuss the terms of the shows renewal, and NBC dropped the bomb about Reilly. Corday objected, but both sides was said to have compromised to a Reilly/Higley co-team. NBC still strongly stands behind Reilly, and the failure of Passions and his last DAYS stint has not changed anything. The only regret NBC has ever expressed was 'overworking' Reilly with two shows, and they attribute that to the shows failures. Expect this new to come out very soon."
Wow. That's not even the scoop of the day, but if it's true, it just adds to the mess. IF it's true.
Thanks for your input, Brimike.

I hope I'm not pissing anybody off by throwing my two cents in here and there. Honestly, I keep hearing all sorts of conflicting stories, which is why I'm just waiting to see what Branco prints. I'm not trying to mess with anyone or tease or anything. I'm just as interested to hear the side he reports as you guys are, believe me.

It's already been expressed that the situation is ugly and nobody really wants to connect themselves to it in any way, so I'd appreciate it if you could stop pressuring. Please and thank you! ;)

Why is it that JER-haters just mention his second tenure on the show?

Because frankly I don't want lawyers getting my e-mail/IP address and tracking me down if this thing blows up. And like I said, I'm hearing lots of conflicting stories, and this thing will take a while to play out. It's not just going to be like an axe falling. This could take weeks or months to sort itself out. I'd rather just wait and see what Nelson prints.

Because his first one had much more decency.

The person who posted that is a known prankster.
