How much of a problem can he have with Jack Smith?

As previously reported, Scott wanted to replace Higley with Y&R executive producer Josh Griffith or Emmy-winning head writer Jack Smith.

In case anyone wants to call and ask DAYS about Higley:

1. 818 840 4112
2. 818 295 2821
Has anybody called, out of curiosity? I'm sure all you'll get is a "No comment", but I was just curious...

Wow....here are my thoughts.

I want to first start with a disclaimer that I'm not defending Ed's actions by any means. What he's apparently done could end up being the ultimate downfall of DAYS, and if it is, I'll never forgive him for that.

BUT, this does not change my opinion of Higley at all. She's still a shitty writer and would have driven the show down the drain no matter what the circumstances may have been. And honestly, I really don't feel that bad for her, considering the unethical way that she got the HW spot in the first place. If you ask me, it's more like poetic justice.

And while, yes, Ed MAJORLY fucked up here, I don't want to see him fired. Obviously, aside from this, he's done some great things for the show, and I don't want to see that gone. Like Corday, he just needs to stay out of the writing room, because if what we have been seeing recently really is his doing, he sucks at writing.

I don't know, I just heard it somewhere else a long time ago, it may have been wrong, but Smith IS Kay Alden's best friend as others have stated and I doubt he'd go to Days for Scott, especially since he is a writer at B&B now.

I wonder if the WGA is going to be issuing a statement.

I don't understand how there can be proof either...unless the scripts are handwritten and signed by Ed Scott, which would be pretty stupid. I hope this hasn't all been stirred up just because of a fight between Higley and Scott, and someone decided to throw mud around. Allegations like this need to be proven before reputations and careers are ruined.

I know about Ed Scott and what happened at Y&R but the cast still thinks highly of him and so did alot of the industry. I just took that as a disagreement in vision. It happens. Now, if this is as bad as it sounds, then this is worse and he should be fired. However, we don't really know if it is. There are still more questions then answers.

I don't think Higley will come back. Why would she? I mean, they can clean house but there is just too much controversy surrounding her...from the controversy surrounding her return to the HW's position to all this. It just seems like this is it for her and that others could be brought down with her.

Not to mention that Smith is under suspicion for scabbing for B&B during the strike and it wasn't revealed that he went Fi-Core until the strike was OVER. DAYS would not be wise to hire someone like that, especially now.

Oh good heavens, that'd be ten times worse for Days to have ANOTHER HW who was also in trouble with the WGA. Not to mention it'd be another HW on the long payroll of them.

Well if RM does have anything to do with this I still feel sorry for her. She's young and rightfully talented and didn't need any kind of favors from producers.

However, if she is innocent how sad is it that her new story of Chan and extra stories that showcase her actual talent (like pancreas) leads people to believe she's a drug addicted whore?

^ My face watching DAYS

This news is ALL over the fucking internet this morning.

This is way to big for NBC/SOD/SOW/WGA/DAYS to stay silent for long.

This is a SCANDAL!

Whoever wrote the past two months of shows caused me to tune out from Days for the first time in years. I haven't returned since. And after reading all of this, I will never return. It's not the who, what, where, when with me. It's the fact that I now know why everything on this show turns to shit. No one is steering the ship. I'm sick of this crap. I'm thinking this isn't the first time Corday has let things spiral out of control, but this is the worst example of his non management skills. While this thread was entertaining initially, Branco is right, I am heartbroken. I know why the story I was enjoying was thrown in the crapper. And I'm sure the details that emerge in the coming days will make me even more upset.

Well, that's it. Days can go to hell for all I care. Seriously.

What I keep coming back to is the fact that everybody here seems to be treating this accusation against Ed Scott as if it's been proven to be true. It has not. And while we can speculate about it until the cows come home, a man's livelihood and reputation are at stake, and I need a little more proof than the spin of someone from the Higley camp.

It certainly is.

I swear, every year it's like a new behind the scene upheaval and it's gotten worse and worse with each one. Now it's just downright, ugly scandal.

The worst thing is the fallout is going to be the nasty part because it's obvious people will lose their jobs, I would think.

Sources all over are claiming this to be true, so I think its pretty much confirmed.

I'm not sure why so many on here are fixating on Rachel Melvin. To be fair I hadn't heard anything of the rumor of her having a fallout with Blake Berris. But even then, it sounds like the "diva" that has been mentioned (and has been rumored to be sleeping with a producer) would be someone that has shot out of nowhere in terms of airtime and character importance. Melvin, who is Days' finest actress (imo), has been front-burner for almost all of her 3 years. She's never without a story. She doesn't need more airtime. To me it just doesn't "fit".

I think the character of Morgan is a nicer "fit" into the story, however. Here you have a pretty actress who is talented in her own right. She starts off as minor recurring character (around the time of Ed Scott's arrival, if I'm not mistaken). The sorority storyline runs its course with the death of Ford Decker. Yet her character stays around, with little to do, and then all of a sudden has a father on-canvas, is getting into the Phillip/Chloe story, which in turn involves her with numerous other stories. There are a lot of mentions of her mother, which seem to lay the groundwork for the entrance of her character in the near future. And she has no ties to any major family, other then being Chelsea and Stephanie's friend. Although to be fair, I think it's refreshing that a non-related character is being featured on the show, because it makes things interesting, and I like the character of Morgan. But having said that, she fits more into the backstage story more than Rachel Melvin does.
