And risk losing the show that sells the most mags when it's on the cover? Yeah, they're staying away like the plague. |

Oh, I am sure that photoshopped Java cover was just flying off the shelves. If they reported on this shit, I might actually read it in the checkout lines! |

I don't think they've ever been known to have entirely factual information on their covers anyway.... |

Yes, I believe there was "JARLENA: IT'S LOVE" followed by "JARLENA:DEAD!" followed by "JOHN AND AVA HAVE SEX: WHY MARLENA FANS SHOULD BE HAPPY" What sort of substance do they ingest prior to laying out these covers anyway... But sorta back to the point-- will the WGA name names? |

Well, I never said it was no big deal. I think the actors involved is a big deal and I'm curious to know what extent. I suppose these emails, breakdowns and scripts show to what extent and that will really be what gets Days in trouble. What I think though is that it's a power struggle. Ed has been telling Dena what to write and she has ignored him and wrote whatever she felt like. Scott would go to Corday and he wouldn't do anything. Higley would go to Corday and he wouldn't do anything. So finally, Ed started slashing her scripts when she wasn't doing what her told her and consulting the actors with how they think their characters should be written since they are probably all complaining they are being written out of character. Then I guess we'll find out what happened from there. If Higley really walked out Monday, is it just a coincidence that was the day that Steve and Kayla had their blow out over Ava and that John and Ava had sex but nothing was shown?? I am wondering if Ed cut the sex scene and stuck in the Steve/Kayla conversation, that Stephen/Mary Beth wrote themselves. And that sent Higley over the edge with all the other cuts and rewrites Ed did in the previous few weeks. Anyway, it works both ways that people are biased so I think some of us don't like to be told how it is because we know the source and the scooper can be just as biased as we are so we still don't really know what went on. Personally, yes, I dislike Dena so I am more willing to take Ed's side on this but there are good reasons I dislike Dena pertaining to her track record. Edited by ElvisDiMera, Jul 28 2008, 03:29 PM.

Well, since I am boycotting DOOL right now, at minimum I had something DOOL related to do during airtime today! I wonder if the velocity of this thread will impact Mon's ratings!!! |

Nelson is posting on other sites more about the Y&R side of things. Nelson there are Y&R fans on here too - we are just not as vocal or in as large numbers as the Days fans - please give us some scoopage too. LOL Anyway he says from what I understand Josh Griffith is doing the same stuff over there as Ed is being accused of. He is sabotaging Maria Bell who is a lot better writer than Dena Higley. No wonder the 2 of them want to work together - they both obviously feel they have a lot in common. I think with the other stuff with Kay Alden and now this with Dena, I think we will learn more and more that as someone else mentioned Ed has a problem with women and power. I have always found it funny that Ed got fired from Y&R - didn't leave he got fired. But MTS stayed even after her contract was up. I have often wondered if she knew that Ed was at fault. Many times a wife will leave a job or a show if their husband is fired out of support. But MTS didn't. I have often thought over the years that there was something strange about that. |

Agreed, its not Dee,besides she not the diva type, that and she's hardly been on the frickin set, She's been in Monaco, Spain and Paradise Island promoting the show and she told SOD she got that 2 week off and didn't know why,now Dee may work with a few liars, but she is not one herself. |

As to the power struggle thing, I think Ken Corday really doesn't know what way to turn and what to do. He is a bad manager but I have to wonder what in the hell he is thinking. In the last few years, he has had JER thrust on him by NBC. Then he takes a stand, hires Hogan, fires JER, and the ratings fall out the bottom. Sony steps in and thrusts Scott on him. Evidently Scott was given lots of power since he brought over directors and fired and hired a new casting director very soon afterward. Also the day to day production seemed to be turned over to Ed who was making changes big time. I just wonder what power Corday really has on his own show when NBC and Sony can force people in all the time. And I just wonder if they will step in again. And I just wonder if they will force Griffith over to Days just to get him out of Y&R and get the Bell family off their backs. |

I hope this comes back to bite Higley in the ass. All this comes to light because she is fired or quit. And so she decides to take Days down with her because she knows she is done in the industry. And f*** the writers guild of America. They caused a lot of good shows to be cancelled. Have you tried watching t.v. at night? The other night I turned on the t.v. and saw people jumping on giant balls. That and America's got no Talent. I can't freaking wait for football. If Days goes off the air I will be very sad. |

Again jumping to conclusions people. Nelson did not say that Dena turned the proof over to the WGA. It could be anyone. If the BI from SOD is true and connected to this remember the item said the other actors and actresses on the set hated this actress. Any of them could have turned it over to get the actress in trouble. And if a producer is known to show favoritism toward one performer it brings a lot of jealousy on the set and any of them could have done this to get back. Remember Ed Scott is known to push favorites. He was highly criticized by other performers for clearly giving the best storylines and stuff to his wife while he was at Y&R. Y&R was known for that type of thing - remember when Terry Lester got fired because he spoke out about Lauralee Bell. Some of actors also spoke out about Melody and Ed. |

When Diva's get a little too big for their britches it often gets them in big trouble. I keep thinking of the young actress who played Jennifer Munson on ATWT who tried to get Kathryn Hays fired. It backfired on her and she got fired instead. She thought she was more important to the show than Hays, but she got shown the door. Actresses esp. get jeolous of one another. |

yes she did BriMike. I couldn't think of her name. She threw a fit several times on the set saying that Kathryn was holding up scenes because she would be a little late. She felt since she was in a big story at the time the show would not get rid of her and do her bidding when she wanted Hays fired. At first she asked just not to work with Hays anymore, but they wouldn't give her that either. ****************************** Other classic female rivalries were between Sarah Michelle Gellar and Susan Lucci. Lucci evidently didn't like all the praise that Gellar got. And then of course the classic stuff between Kaye Stevens, Brenda Benet and Susan Hayes who were jealous over Hayes getting all the best stories on Days esp. when Hayes mother wrote the show. Those 2 actresses were mentioned by name but other actresses from Days were rumored to have gone to Corday and I think it was H. Wesley Kenney at the time and asked for Harrowed to be fired. |

Now granted... rewriting a writers script is unethical and illegal... and I am not giving Ed clearance if that is what he indeed did. However, whomever took the time to take photo's of scripts, was planning on causing trouble. It make me think that Higley is behind this, because she thought her job was in jeopardy. Sorta like "if you poke me then I am gonna poke you back" kinda thing. Then again I could be wrong... but something is WAY off. Someone was PLANNING on this thing blowing up. |

Ooh, treads are being deleted on the Y&R Sony board regarding this matter. People are getting PM's from the admin's saying that the show doesn't want this stuff posted and that these claims are not "substantiated." The Higley is out thread is still going strong over on the Sony DAYS board though. |
